Plato's Closet - Lee's Summit, MO

Worst customer service I have ever witnessed, don't waste time on this location totally unprofessional. I appreciated the gentleman with the grill though, handsome and took the time to at LEAST make eye contact. The other ladies were terrible.

I was VERY disappointed with the experience I had at this Plato’s. I brought in a whole tub of clothes, most of them brand new or only worn once. Took an hour and a half for them to sort, just to take 6 articles of clothing. They gave me the rest of the clothing claiming they were “stained. ” And to top it all off, I was only offered $26 for all of the American Eagle clothing and a couples shirts and Nike shorts. This was honestly a waste of time. I will never bring clothes back here again.

I have taken clothes there multiple times to sell. They never take any clothes. They say, "there's stains, holes, etc. All clothes I bring have been cleaned up looking brand new.

Just called this store and spoke with Emily. She was kind and patient, looked through the jeans to ensure I didn't waste my time and gas coming without getting what I wanted when I arrived. Great customer service, I look forward to visiting this location.

Always great options except for athletic pants (recently)! Staff is friendly and store is well maintained and organized.

I love Platos Closet overall but the staff (some) NEVER seem to be in a good mood. Today 3/12/23 was definitely the worst.the blonde in the white sweatshirt sorting through clothing was beyond rude. She thought it was funny making mean comments about people's clothing, stated how she was "so over going through these bags". Sounds like you need a new job honey. Take advice from one of the shirts you made fun of. BE KIND?

My favorite for accessories and cute shoes, if you have time to search new clothes n shoes with tags on them for half the price. This is my favorite PC in my hometown. Always organized and staff extremely helpful and friendly.

The store is under new ownership and very well organized. However, their buying prices are horrific. Not sure how their buying prices work, but they're ridiculously low. The previous owner was much more reasonable in this regard. I will no longer be selling or buying from the Lee's Summit location.

Don’t take you dresses there they tried buying my 400 dollar dress and a windsor dress for 50 dollars both new never worn for $9.50! Then got mad at me when i said oh wow yah no that’s and took my stuff and left… there buying prices are crazy low and they ain’t friendly when you tell them no thankyou and want your things back

Well I got higher back in October by the new owner Stacey I didn't make it cuz of a family emergency had no time to call so I figured I don't work there. Which is fine with me so I go in about a month
after so November I drop off the sale I come back Stacey said to me infront of her staff and her customers " hey Kristen that's me "thanks for wasting my time " I say nothing get my things how unprofessional so I drop of clothes Jan 19 for them to buy and check in so they say hour we can text u so one hour they text me to pick up my things and tell me can't buy from me why cuz I didn't work here. How unprofessional

Absolutely love the store! It’s my favorite location of Plato’s closet! It’s the only place I shop for clothes!

Came in with a filled bag of stuff and they were so nice to me through the buying process and bought about half of my stuff. I was offered $65 which is great and overall they were so nice to me and made the whole process a great experience. I definitely want to sell here again!:)

Pretty sure this location has changed to new management recently and I feel welcomed when I come now. All the employees are so sweet and smiley! I’ve only had nothing but positive experiences within the past few months coming here.

They have some great stuff if you're there for shopping. If you're there to sell tho.different story. It's extremely inconsistent on what they take and what they don't. Had a bag if items and was told to rewash because of dusty storage snell then they'd take the items so I did but when I brought them back I was told the items were too old of style. Even tho 70s-2000s is in style. It's basically luck and the opinion of whoever goes through your bag. And often an hour or longer wait.

The girl with the dark hair, shoulder length and mask on that was organizing the clothes was rude. She did NOT say excuse me when organizing the clothes and was in my way. She was also slamming clothes around and being loud like she was annoyed. I know exactly what she was doing. She was annoyed. It was clearly obvious. If you don’t like your job then find a new one! Everyone else was really nice. I’m also a frequent shopper at Plato’s. But because of her I won’t be back! Nobody wants to go to a place with rude people. She can take that attitude somewhere else cause it’s not professional!
