Beware of the Plumbing subcontractors that Premier Surfaces sub out. I ordered a recycled glass countertop for a bathroom vanity from Home Depot. Home Depot subbed Premier Surfaces to fabricate the vanity top. I was charged $120 for a permit by Home Depot. After the counter top was put in, they called the plumber, and he came a couple hours later. He installed the sink and faucet. I asked to see the permit. He told me he did not file for one. They told Home Depot I did not need one when I called Home Depot to complain. I called the chief inspector at the permit office to inquire on the correct answer. I was told that I did need a permit and he gave me his name and number to pass along to the plumber to verify. I called Premier Surfaces to complain and the lady who answered the phone told me that they do not hire the plumbers and got very upset when I raised my voice telling her that they did not pull a permit. She told me she was going to call Home Depot and hung up on me. LOL. Long story short. I got a call from Premier Surfaces headquarters and YES, they were the ones who hired the plumber. They found out that they DID need a permit. I do not understand why the lady answering the phone denied that they hired the plumber?
So, the moral of this story is: If you are being charged for a permit, you should ask to see the permit. I wonder how many people pay for permits and then they are never pulled. I guess most people don't ask and it is easy money.

I ordered counters 4 months ago. They were installed very quickly, but then I noticed one of the edges were cut at an angle. I am still working on getting this problem fixed because they refused to accept any responsibility, blaming it on my walls, floors, or cabinets being crooked. They have finally accepted responsibility, but I have to wait another month before they will even come to my house to address the solutions! If I could give less that 1 star, I would. I regret going with this company to save a few bucks and will not be using them for any of my future projects! The installers are also very rude.
