Prime 55 Restaurant & Lounge reviews
16 Legit terminate Mega! He's awful! Ordered food from him and he lied about it coming for almost an hour and a half! I asked him several
Times about the whereabouts of our menu items and each time he said it was on the way. Why lie!? Just say you made a mistake. Seriously annoyed! Your staff wasted our time! 100% dissatisfied! This is the culture of this place. It's my second time here and my second miserable experience. Very sad. You want the support but dont give the same service that i would get elsewhere.
Food is ALWAYS DELICIOUS! Rather fast service for resturant style food! Atmosphere is chill and nice! Staff are always very polite and easy going! Love it!
Classic bait and switch guys. Well done. Turns out the Delmar location is NOT what it says on the website, "beautifully appointed restaurant featuring a full bar and full menu" and "craft cocktails" ended up being a limited menu, no bartender, no craft cocktails, no pinot noir (in fact, only 1 red wine to choose from), setting was a tiny cafe with 7 tables. "perfect date-night worth eatery, with its upscale vibes and inviting music" - upscale? Music was pop radio. We felt sorry for our server, Erica, who was running her butt off to serve most of the tables, play bartender and hostess. The stuffed salmon was okay, a bit flavorless. Shrimp and grits were tasty but shrimp was overcooked. So much for a surf and turf dinner at a swanky restaurant for our out of town girls' trip.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel where Prime 55 is located in STL. It was our 20th Anniversary and we made reservations at Prime 55 due to the hotel recommendation/reviews. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT THIS WAS! We got at Prime 55 and it was extremely loud and the host stated we have to seat at the bar because they have Speed Dating going tonight. Lol. We were so upset and left. Long story short, we called Eleven Eleven Mississippi to see if they could get us in for our 20th Anniversary and they got us in and the environment/food/service was tremendous. Will never recommend Prime 55 to no one.
Stopped by here for dinner before a concert across the street and we’re glad we did. The staff were all super friendly and the food was delicious. We had wings and a chicken sandwich and both were excellent. The margaritas were also made perfectly. Would definitely recommend.
This location went completely downhill since the last time I visited.
My experience this time broke the camel's back. Went initially for a dinner party, in which it was another party in the same space in which it really wasn't an intimate setting. The staff already had water at the table which is good, because I have been waiting 30+ mins for my mixed drink that I ordered. Server took my order, I ordered a ribeye, and was told they are out of steaks. She suggested some other entreees, but that's what I wanted and had a taste for. Opted for the honey hot wings and salad instead. I received my wings before my salad (How?) My wings didn't have a tad bit of heat coming from them. I'm just ready to go home by now. I'm still waiting on my salad and drink by the way.
I'm just disappointed all the way around. I know why I stopped coming here.
After the owner passed, everything passed with it. Such a shame. Everything was on point when I visited the first time.
Visiting from Milwaukee WI and OMG……food was amazing! Had the lobster fries for an appetizer and the stuffed salmon…. It was fantastic! Would definitely recommend and visit again!
The food was amazing! Had the stuffed salmon and oh my goodness! It is to die for! So good! Go try it!
Celebrating my daughter's18th bday with friends & family (table of 10). It took more than 1hour for 9 plates to be served. 1 person didn't receive their food, only to find out the waitress put it in wrong. Waitress said it would be about 5 mins. When questioned abt Steak that was made in error, she said the chef ate it. We were all finished eating before the person received their food. Someone made my daughter a cake as a gift. We were then questioned if we aware of the cake fee? No ma'am what is that? $25 fee for cleaning up cake. 1 person sent their meal back said it wasn't any seasoning. We received the bill & there was a register total but also a hand written total. I asked what was the hand written, waitress said there was a 4% charge on using debit/credit. Not aware, waitress could have explain. We don't recommend this place for dining.
The food was delicious. I will definitely be back. The lambchops and the brownie were my favorite. But everything we ordered was good. Our waitress was very attentive as well.
Very unprofessional. Don’t expect to be seated soon. Waited for seating for 30 minutes with open seats available.
This place was very nice and has great customer service I will definitely be back the lamb chops are so good I can't wait to try something else there
This a very beautiful black owned restaurant! The staff is very nice, food is bomb and drinks are VEERRYY STRONG! I will definitely be back
Flew into STL late and entered the restaurant at around 9: 40. Waiter told us that the menu was limited due to the cooks getting ready to turn the burners off. The waitress asked if they could make the stuffed Salmon and Lamb Chops and they agreed. The food was amazing and we were so grateful for them accommodating us. I will definitely be back!
It’s important not to be hypercritical of black owned restaurants (especially our own come on fam!) The food here is absolutely delicious. The service could use a few improvements but all restaurants are suffering from staffing shortages right now. The steak I had was one of the best I’ve had in a restaurant, the atmosphere was cozy and the (overworked!) staff still had a smile on their faces. I will return and I will recommend.
On June 17,2023 I Finally got a chance to dine at Prime 55 in the Delmar loop. While the sweet glazed lamb chops hit the mark the rest of the meal fell flat. The potatoes and steamed broccoli vegetables melody lacked any flavor. In fact the vegetables were barely warm. The decor and service was simply terrible. There was no bread which is something you might expect at a restaurant advertising itself as a fine dinning establishment. The server’s attire was not becoming and to further diminish the reputation of this restaurant was the 4% charge if you used your debit or credit card. Then there was the 20% gratuity for a party of four. The place was very small. No salt or pepper on the wobbly table. I do not know how this location compares to the downtown location but if this location carry the name Prime 55 it is a very poor representation. I do not recommend this location to anyone. Lastly the manager’s handling of our bill was totally unprofessional. The server who was in training did not charge the mandatory 20% gratuity initially. Instead of absorbing the mistake she confronted us which ruin any possibility of an enjoyable experience.
