Great store.knowledgeable about the sport. My daughter needed new skates. They fitted her with a computer that gave us her size and width.

Was in town from KC, stopped in for a real skate sharpening. Support for hockey in Kansas City is nonexistent. Incredible service, great skate sharpening, I just got back from the rink these things are like butter. I don’t care if I have to drive three hours to get a real skate sharpening, I will be back. I am now a raving fan of pure hockey!
I'm picky about my skate sharpening and they always get it right. The staff is always super friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help out. This isn't even the closest location to my house and I make a point of going whenever I need a sharpening.

I quit going when it was Total Hockey. It has totally changed since Pure Hockey has taken over. There’s more staff and they are knowledgeable and polite.

Great experience! I haven't skated in my life, but I was ready to start. I stopped in and the staff was excellent! They helped me find great skates and answered all my questions. Also thanks to the guy who helped us specifically I didn't catch your name, but I really appreciate it. I'll definitely be back!
All in all, this is a decent place for your hockey equipment. Is it the cheapest? No, but usually they're not too far off. My biggest complaint would be availability on certain items at certain times. I tried to purchase some gloves but the pair I wanted we're just sold. NP, it happens.when can you expect more in, I asked? Crickets. Finally I was told that I would have to order online; tried that but there's no place to enter your rewards ID to apply towards your purchase. Tried to call, and was told that I could only use the rewards in store. Right back to square one and still no clear answer.or gloves. Obviously, a bit frustrating. This all happened during their transition so I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm nicer than most, I know. I did come up with an acceptable pair of gloves. I told them the price, what size & color I wanted & just told them to find something they had in stock. There was one pair so I snagged them before those were gone too. Hopefully I didn't ruin someone else's day by taking the gloves they had in mind!
This particular store isn't the largest in the St Louis area, but their selection is good and everyone that we've talked to working there has been great and very helpful. I would happily go back many times.
Not sure if they are still transitioning from total hockey aquisition or holiday rush, but the store was not very well merchandised. Merchandise was sparse, spread out and unorganized. Counters were a disaster. I may have caught them at a shift change, but they were also understaffed. I'll give them another shot.

I'm sure they have great gear, no doubting that. However, DO NOT bring your winter classic jersey here for customization. They do not have felt lettering and numbers as worn on ice.
I hesitantly dropped off my prized authentic winter classic jersey after explicitly asking if they in fact offer the felt lettering. A few days pass by and I had decided I wanted a different player on my jersey. I figured it was worth a shot but would have understood if I couldn't change it.
THANK GOD I CALLED and got the number to the very nice woman that does the work for them. I was able to speak with her and she politely assisted me with changing the order.
Then at the last second it occurred to me to once again confirm the felt lettering that the ASSIST MANAGER told me they offer. And once again the nice woman helped out by telling me that she cannot do that and that another customer was currently in the same situation. She told me that she may be able to ship it to another company to do the work. At first it sounded fine but then came to and realized that I need to cut my losses and retrieve my jersey and start over.
Long story short.don't take them a winter classic jersey. Only take it to the stadium for customization. You may have to make 2 long drives but it'll be worth it.
