Racanelli’s New York Pizzeria, Kirkwood MO

The service was unbelievably horrible. Went there for two slices, garlic knots, and some sodas, waited 40 minutes before asking how much longer. I got no real answer but was told they were coming out soon. I waited another 15 minutes before asking for another update but also said if it was going to be much longer I'd want a refund to go elsewhere. The manager yelled from the back "oh my word its almost ready. When it came out it was the wrong pizza slices so I asked for a refund. I thought that was the end of the nightmare but I realized they didn't refund me for the knots even thought we didn't eat them. I went back to a hostile manager who did give me the rest of the refund but saying I was ridiculous for being baby about the messed up order and long wait. She then told me never to come back even thought I've been coming here for almost 10 years. But hey, I'll definitely choose Dewey's across the street over that dump any day going forward

Madeline is a complete and total TERROR! For starters she didn’t have on a hairnet with long greasy Locs. She was very much overwhelmed, so much so that when I tried to complain about my order that I called In and was told the order would be ready in 30 minutes. When I called and stated I was outside I was told they couldn’t find my order and they would put a rush on it. I went inside to get my receipt and wait for my order. Upon receiving my receipt I noticed both were 10” I was never asked what size the 2nd pizza should be. The person that took my order assumed it would be a 10’. As I’m talking to the person that took my order Madeline walked up and rudely interrupted the conversation, cutting me off, rolling her eyes. She went so far as to tell me that she’s burning other customers orders talking to me. She had no regard for my order being missed no accountability! She was clearly annoyed talking to me and I just asked for a refund which she immediately gave to me and continued to be very condescending. I asked for a Coroprate number and was told they are independently owned and she’s the only person to talk to! This was my second experience at this location and she has clearly set the tone on what type of customers she would like to deal with. If I could’ve left a negative star review I would’ve! Absolutely disgusting behavior from an individual that is supposed to be a representation of the company. She absolutely shouldn’t have direct contact with customers.

Racanelli's has great New York style pizza. Here's the deal - yes, they are busy. Like most small restaurants and businesses these days they are likely understaffed and working their tails off to serve a ton of people. Just order it about an hour or so before you want it. It's not a ''fast food'' - chain type pizzeria. There is a woman that seems to always be working when we order from there. She works so, so hard and somehow multi-tasks and serves a ton of people. A man tonight was very upset because he had waited over 15 minutes for his pizza and he also accused her of being rude (I've never seen her act rude - she's just super busy). As he left, he said he would leave a negative internet review then he yelled at her that she was ''an unattractive ***ch''. She didn't flinch and kept working, bringing out everyone's food. So, I've decided to write this review (I never write reviews). Thank you, Racanelli's, for serving downtown Kirkwood for over 20 years.

This New York style pizza place is nestled between several small businesses, perfect place to stop in eat and relax after neighborhood shopping. The storefront has large glass windows to people watch. Pizza was delicious, can't wait to get back.

Our family's favorite pizza in STL, but they don't answer their phone. I try to go here when the Webster location is closed, but on 2023-01-28, the Webster location was closed and locked and the Kirkwood location wouldn't answer their phone. If a pizza restaurant isn't open on a Saturday night, I think they are not open for business at all.

Disappointed. Waited for then to open at noon. We finally went to another restaurant. As we passed by almost 2 hours later, we watched 5 more people try to get in, unsuccessfully.

This place is currently still stuck in Covid land when I asked why I had to dine outside and not inside I was told I was trespassing go ask yourself there is a woman in there on some psychotic power trip enjoy that experience I went to MOD Pizza instead where I can move around freely indoors without a psychotic mask from hell

Very bad customer service. They make you wait outside and have you call to pick up but then don't answer the phone. A women working at this location actually mocked me when I said I tried to call to thinking I couldn't hear her. Not a way to treat anyone ever.

I had the worst experience here. I waited outside in the cold for 30 minutes for a pick up order, I called the store to get a estimated time and after 10 calls, I finally got someone to pick up to apathetically tell me my order would be ready soon, I waited another 20 till it was done.

Go to Mellow Mushroom, MOD Pizza, California Pizza Kitchen, honestly any other
pizza place but here.

This review is from my experience last year but I'm just now getting around to writing it and from what I've heard they haven't changed a bit.

The food was excellent. Nothing reminds me of home than a solid plain cheese pizza. The wings were great. Their garlic knots are my favorite. But I’ll say the best part was how polite and professional the service was. As soon as I got there I called, they answered right away and brought the food out immediately. It was still piping hot when I got home - a 15 minute drive. I get that there can be a wait at times, but I also get how short staffed everyone is. We have all got to be more patient with people in the service industry. If the owner sees this, and knows whoever was working between 3pm and 4pm on Saturday, January 22nd, please recognize and appreciate them properly. Thanks again.

Love their pizza, but closed more often than not. But there's always the Big Bend location, though they say their not affiliated.

Fantastic pizza, fantastic staff and fantastic safety protocols. Has been curbside/delivery only throughout COVID. Support them - they deserve it!

EAT ANYWHERE ELSE -THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD
Awful service. Rude and must of not wanted to be there. Would not even communicate to me through the door, so I waited outside. THE SAME LADY had the audacity to come out and yell at me to get my feet off of a chair. (like lady, just come outside when I was knocking on the window because I had a question.)
HORRIFIC experience all around and will most certainly not be coming back.

Called and ordered at 6: 30. Been in the parking lot for an hour. It is now 7: 58 just about to close and they are now bringing it out. I called back and was told it will be brought out when it is ready. Won’t be coming back here at all.

VERE RUDE THERE WAY OR THE HIGHWAY
Ordered the meatball parm. Was a very good sandwich, but if they had more sauce it would have been excellent. 2nd time horrible complained said too bad. Waiting I saw them give an African American man a pizza, he came back and told them they put on wrong toppings. They said too bad, no $ back. He said all I want is the pizza I ordered and paid for. Finally they gave him his $ back but would not allow him to get correct pizza which is all he wanted, he didn't want $ back.

Waited for more than 30 minutes in parking lot. It was 20 minutes til I saw someone bring a pizza to a car. Says they are short staff. But still. Come on guys. Maybe just don’t order a pizza during prime hours. Tavs look to be store bought too.

After multiple friends shared this is their favorite pizza place in STL, I was excited to try it! I placed my order at 5: 36 PM for pick up, was told the wait would be 45 minutes. I showed up at 6: 18 and called; I was told it would be out shortly. At 6: 48 I called again and was told my pizza was in the oven and almost done. After waiting almost an hour, at 7: 06 I called again to cancel my order and get my money back. They told me my pizza was on its way out. I’m not sure if it’s just this location or a staffing issue, but I will not be returning anytime soon.

Phone wait time when I was standing in front of the store to pick up an order was long while it was cold outside, and no one is allowed inside, even when waiting for an order. My order was dropped when it was completed. Very long, cold and unprofessional feel. Really wish I could’ve loved the customer service.

After going to Webster location and leaving due to extremely rude employees Manager included I gave Kirkwood location a shot! The gentleman who’s name I didn’t catch but wish I would have was super kind and professional the way customer service should be! Will never step foot in Webster location but will definitely be back to Kirkwood the pizza was delicious

I'm just a guy from Brooklyn who moved out to the Midwest three years ago, so finding decent pizza around here is my life's mission. Lucky for me, I've finally found it! Hot, fresh, delicious, genuine New York style pie, foldable just the way God intended. I live about 20 minutes from here, but I would willingly drive even further out to get a slice of home as good as this. Definitely worth every penny!
