Ray's Diner, Excelsior Springs MO

Everything a diner should be. It feels as if it's never been updated, with vinyl flooring of old records, faded Pepsi marketing, and an old school menu board with prices that don't seem yet to have caught up with inflation. The cook is right behind the bar doing his magic, like an American version of hibachi. Had the biscuits and gravy and short stack of pancakes - as good as it gets. Wife had sausage, eggs and toast. The waitress kept the coffee coming for me and every other addict in the small joint. Cash only. I hope it never changes and will certainly stop by for breakfast next time in in town.

A tiny little burger shop that takes you back in time with unique decor and hard working staff i loved it.

We were visiting Excelsior Springs and wanted to have a diner breakfast. Ray's Diner is exactly what we were looking for. Simple menu, but good food. The cinnamon rolls were excellent. Friendly staff, the guy at the grill told us he appreciated us. The place was busy the whole time and everyone seemed to get waited on very timely. Also, they have a classic cup of diner coffee. Nothing fancy, just hot and flavorful. If I'm back in town, I'll defiantly stop in again, maybe for lunch!

The food is absolutely amazing, and the staff are aLeah’s incredibly friendly and kind. Every visit here leaves me thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. A definite 5-star gem!

Great little old fashioned diner in downtown Excelsior Springs. Stopped in for lunch and had a very nice meal. Service was great and our waitress was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us some great tips. Will visit again when in Excelsior Springs.

Love this place but.waitress asked if I wanted a full or half order of Hash browns. I said full order to share with my wife.plate came with 3bites of hash browns! Lucky i ordered the full order

Best place to eat in Excelsior springs Missouri great food has been for years. I would recommend anyone to try you won't be dissatisfied

Lunch was awesome. Very quick and friendly service. We love the food. They have daily specials for breakfast and lunch. They have a Facebook page with more info too. Definitely will be back soon.

Wish you opened a RAYS in Bonner sps ks, LOVE everything about all. Had eggs, potatoes and gravy and 2 big chunks of the most delicious ham, yummy, yum

First stop at Ray’s! Cute diner serving diner-style food. They have a small no nonsense menu with breakfast & lunch served 6 am - 2 pm. We had the biscuits & gravy & we loved the peppery gravy. We also enjoyed the garbage sandwich on toast. Place is small & prices are very reasonable. We will be back to try the lunch menu!

Breakfast and lunch diner with a somewhat limited but adequate menu. Food is very good, service is great. Eating here is a fun experience. It's a visit into the past. Onion rings are outstanding!

Famous old small town diner with a small town atmosphere. Everyone there was so nice that I felt comfortable from the moment I sat down. Food is good and fresh at a great price. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Excelsior Springs!

A unexpected highlight of our trip to the US, this authentic diner made us feel at home from the start, everything they prepared was delicious and plentiful, the staff was exceptionally kind and the ambience was relaxed. A must visit, in my humble opinion.

Excellent spot for a good burger. Everything cooked when you order. Fresh beef not frozen patties. Awesome to see just how much is done in such a small kitchen. Would love to see some dinner hours included on perhaps Saturdays as we don’t get downtown often during lunch hours but I get it.

Love love love this place! Excellent service, very good prices and excellent food! You won't be disappointed unless you are the kind of person that would complain about your teeth itching. Exactly what you expect from a diner it's all as it should be. Comfort food, comfortable atmosphere. Very limited seating but fast turn over rate. Get the cheeseburgers!

Everything a small diner should be. Excellent breakfast, and amazing burgers grilled on the flattop to perfection. Throw in some onion rings or chili cheese fries. So good.

The gal and her husband running this place are the best duo ever. Love the atmosphere, and he is literally a god on the grill. Food and service is always perfect! And INCREDIBLY CHEAP.

It was such a reminiscent of days gone by. My chicken sandwich was delicious. My onion rings were over cooked, which was a big let down. But my chicken sandwich with green chilies was good.
