Red Dot Storage reviews
9A lot of the times the gate code wouldn’t work so you had to call their number to get another code. Units were always getting broke into. When it was time for us to get our stuff out of the unit we couldn’t get the lock off because they had put one of their locks on after some units had been broke into. I scheduled a day for a manager to meet me at the unit to remove the lock and he didn’t show up. When I called red dot to see if he was coming they told me no I would have to reschedule. I would not recommend this storage place.
This place is horrible. I had a unit there for over a year and it was broken in to once. Had a truck there as well for a few months and every weekend i showed up to check on it it had been broken in to, literally every time i checked on it. They are very rude people too to top it off. The way they word they're emails when you fall a few weeks behind on payments is very disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. After how many times my possessions were violated and stolen you couldn't pay me to store my valuables here again. Good riddance.
Over the past months, I’ve been subjected to a string of emails in the ongoing saga of someone who rented a storage unit and then failed to pay as agreed.
At first, I thought the emails might be either spam or a genuine mistake. But they are addressed to a person who lists an apartment number on an undeveloped parcel of land and who apparently has an email address consisting of the full name of someone who isn’t them and who shares neither their first nor last name. Whose ever they are, they’re not me. And I’ve written corporate asking to have this remedied to no avail.
If they’re all just spam, well played whomever is doing it. Full points for effort. The continuing saga of the rent being due might have been entertaining if I ever got over the frustration of the endless, unwanted emails.
In the end, I’ve never personally had any business with this company but been subjected to a string of emails that are increasingly threatening from it. And while that minor inconvenience might not itself justify a one-star review, the strong possibility that someone else might really need these emails and not be getting them makes me concerned for people whose property is actually stored here. Luckily for me, mine isn’t, hasn’t been, and never will be.
The people I dealt with initially after purchase and then after with questions and some help were absolutely great. Very professional, knowledgeable and helpful at all times. Thank you all for a great experience.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Made a reservation for a unit. Also paid for the unit. Went to the storage location, and the code box wasn’t working, nobody was there to at least help with any technical issues. I called customer support and asked for a refund. How is anyone suppose to get to their items on their unit if the code box doesn’t even work and it’s the only entrance. Save your money and DO NOT GET A STORAGE UNIT EITH TED DOT IN GRANDVIEW, MO
Renting was a pain. I drove down to the location thinking I could see what was available, you cannot. And while the sign on the "office" says open, there is no one there. Even the door in front of the self-server kiosk was locked. So I sat in my car in the parking lot and rented on my phone. Also a pain. I finally got through it and was assigned a unit with an access code. The access code did not work. The keypad is ancient and has ZERO feedback (beeps, clicks, anything), so all you know is - the gate is not opening. And, as I mentioned, there was no one there to help in any way. So I used the chat app on line. After another 15m of re-entering my info, and waiting, someone did help. They had to give me a temporary access code. She mentioned it can take 24 hours for the codes to activate.
*If* you are going to be a zero touch company, you *have* to have good tech. Table stakes.
We had our unit broken into on Christmas Eve-about 8000.00 worth-people you cal for help and information are rude and refuse to answer our questions-we are dealing with the police now -don’t use this place!
Avoid any red dot storage facility at all cost.they illegally went into my unit and prepared it for auction physically bagging up all my items in black trash bags I have items missing and of course they denied it all I got was an apology.my rate has went from 55.00 a month for a 5 x10 to 75.00! Within a 6 month time frame and all I get told is it's in the lease arrangement rates can chg anytime.this company is a fraud they Cleary want my items to go to auction. I called back and pretend to be a new customer they offered me the same sz unit for 41.00 what a fing Jk!
