The Grilled Chicken Alfredo didn't have nearly enough Alfredo sauce on it. It had more butter than Alfredo sauce on it.

Original interpretation of familiar dishes, freshly prepared using quality ingredients. Staff is friendly and unpretentious, service is good, food is served hot and tasty.

My husband and I loved eating here when we had a horse in the area for training. I still come now and have brought friends from all over and have never been disappointed!

I was impressed with the service here. Great atmosphere if you want a place for a work lunch. Food was great. I had the glazed pork chops with mashed potatoes and French onion soup.

Went here for the first time with my daughter and best friend for a girls day out and it was amazing. I ordered the fried chicken salad and it was amazing, my daughter had the spicy cheeseburger meal, it was so big she couldn’t eat it all, “leftovers” she said, and my best friend had the chicken Alfredo and loved it. I will be taking the rest of my family there. The atmosphere was great and the waitress was so patient and polite. So if you haven’t been, go, eat and try something new. You won’t regret it.

Very nice, creative atmosphere, service was excellent even though they were very busy at noon on Saturday. We got the brushetta appetizer, which was very good.

Traveling west and following Rt 66. Always looking for local fare. Found it in the Red Onion. Classy but small town feel. Have some unique items on the menu. I had the coconut chicken and honestly loaded mash potatoes. Wow! The coconut was not over powering, adds a nice sweet taste. Clean, well lit dining area and staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful. This is a great stop if you are in town.

Nice restaurant. Varied menu, good drink list and delicious desserts. Downtown and a nice change from the typical chain restaurants. Reasonable prices. I had bacon, wrapped shrimp and a good salad and wonderful Italian wedding cake for dessert.

This has to be one of the best places to eat period end of story. Everything on the menu is good and I have pretty much had them all. The crafted beers are great esp if you like dark beers. Hobgoblin in the summer is great. All the cheesecakes are awesome. The wait staff is top notch. A definite go to in the Joplin area

I was in this restaurant last night to celebrate my daughter's birthday. There were six in our party and yet we were seated at a table for four (two of us ate on the table corner).

Appetizers, salads, and soups seemed to be an afterthought after our orders were taken as they were served at a very slow pace.

Drink refills also were served at an equally unattended and slow manner.

On the recommendation of a trusted friend, I ordered a double-cheeseburger (cooked mid-rare), homemade potato chips and water to drink.

When my meal finally arrived, the first thing I noticed was, rather than my requested medium rare, the burger patties were overcooked (burned). Of course, nothing about a meal tastes good when the main course is burned and the case was no different here.

To say the least, I was extremely disappointed by my meal and everything surrounding it. The awkward seating arrangements, the slow and inattentive service, and the lousy food were all surprises as I remember a time when such things at the Red Onion Cafe were unheard of.

Hopefully my review with spur management into fixing their problems. I'm not writing this to get anyone fired or to get a free meal; I'm writing it because I used to enjoy going to the Red Onion and I would like to see those days return.

Heaven knows I won't be.
