I witnessed something at this church that won’t leave my memory. A black woman, herself a therapist, shared her grief in the full church hall surrounded by dozens, if not 100 or more church goers. What she shared was the story of her enduring sorrow and guilt that she did not pick up the phone when her father tried to call her hours before he committed suicide. She had guilt for not picking up and she wondered if her father would still be alive. The man who led the class was a paid pastor at the church. He had a despicable reaction to her. He told her in front of all that her feelings were an indication that she thought she should be able to control things that only God can control. The way he did it was not at all like a close loving friend or like someone who is showing compassion. To me, it was very postured and phony, like someone who has studied oration and canned responses, and truly, there was no pause given to weigh the seriousness of the moment, or pray for wisdom. It was all of him; there was no kindness and compassion of Jesus in those words. I have thought and prayed for her many times since then and hope she can heal and hope she can find a safe church to attend.

Toxic environment with shame-based preaching. Opportunities to do good for the city are there, but they fail to live up to that.

I love the worship the message their beliefs how they take care of the community and try to get everyone involved as well. My husband and I are looking forward to joining a small group
I love their kid's class and the safety measures they have in place it's really close to our house
And it's a really friendly diverse community of believers age, race, styles, casual, dressy.

It's wonderful

We were in KC for a weekend and have some friends who attend here so we joined them for Sunday morning worship. Wonderful experience.worship was heartfelt and genuine, the pastor knows and loves the word of God as he clearly presented his message from the book of Isaiah. If you live in the Kansas City area and are looking for a church home I would highly recommend Redeemer Fellowship!

This is the body that my wife and I worship with and live out what it means to be a follower of Christ with. Not a place of judgement, but a place where the sick and the broken can come to find healing and meet Jesus.

I attended this “church” for 8 years, and this is also my experience:

Original by: Kate H.

“I went here for 2 years and it is toxic at best, and a cult at worst. I got involved in a small group and I met some nice people, but the church leadership utilizes intimidation, peer pressure, and false theology to ensure everyone remains in step. Their membership program (which you are strongly encouraged to participate in, as that's the best and most sure way for them to exert control over you) is intense and while you're made to feel like you're in a special club, they will gaslight you. If you dare to show vulnerability, they will demand they "root out the sin" in your life and come under their discipline in order for you to "heal. " If you enjoy abuse of power through the guise of spiritual guidance and are a white male, become a leader here. If you want to have the Bible twisted and used as a weapon against you while leaders claim to "only want your best and God's best for you, " and you have money saved up for years of therapy, then membership is for you. ”

Always a blessing. It’s not just the location and the worship. It’s the people. The preaching is solidly biblical.

I have been going to redeemer for almost three years now and I love it. I have developed an amazing community through it, was able to contribute and serve easily, and have learned so much about the Lord through the pastors there. Although it is pretty big, I know that I could get the help I needed or talk with any of the pastors easily.

Visited a friend who was working. But I have not attended their services because they are different than my beliefs, but I know the staff is basically good at heart. Amen amen

I love this place caring people

Some paster i like more then others but that is what makes this a good church not every sunday the same paster speaker it is a lot of different paster. Still lots of issues with this church in my eyes I'm still can not come to Sunday services to me that's not very church like at all

And the head paster won't even face to me face to face if Kevin the head I should be able to speak with him that did not happen so they got lots of errors in the system how the staff works and there is lots of favorite here to and nepotism here that I don't agree with I think this church would be lots better if they did not hire family to work for them that's a huge issue and no documents was show to me when I was fire so that's a huge error on Redeemer part

I will always fright for what's better and stand up for my rights

You won't stop me or bring me down at all I will keep going

i cant even come to christmas eve service this is not how a church treats any one at all no reel faith here this church has hurt me so munch. No pastors wants to pray with me any more from here so since when is that right at this church there needs to be a lot of work done with the head staff and may be if 3 different people left the staff I think this church would change big time the people I'm talking abort is chris coller Andy been randy Randy Taylor I think this church needs a lot of work and training and they need to come to me face to face and I'm talking abort Kevin

It's so sad that the pastor's lie to your face

Redeemer is more of a black church and a church that will come stabe you right in the back

I miss this church. I miss hearing from Kevin and Brian. Amazing learning in here. Amazing worship. Amazing peace. Keep it up! I like it more than when I went to the OG Redeemer in NY.
