Recommended for newly immigrant like us (Filipino), if you're not sensitive to the others' review and comment. Nice and quite place. Noticed some negative things but not a big deal.

We just finished our first year at Remington, and we absolutely love it is clean, a convenient location, and the huge swimming pool is awesome!
I can’t begin to express how grateful we are that Karen the manager has helped us from day one. We believe this is a great apartment location with an awesome staff to work with!

Sketch business practices. And when you call them out on it they tell you "everyone starts off a month behind on utilities". No sense of urgency on ANY maintenance requests. Don't move here

DO NOT MOVE HERE. This is the most dangerous apartment complex you could possibly live in. We moved into our apartment with no hot water, black mold present (found out the apartment was previously flooded) rotted out cabinet shelves and upside down electrical switches which are all city code violations. We had to shower one of the display units for 3 weeks because of no proper running hot water. They did not perform an inspection prior to us moving in and on top of that the display unit that we were shown we would be getting is not what we moved into! We have no walk in closet and a handicap accessible bathroom that we have no need for and is not what we were shown we would get.
The office has been incredibly unhelpful and when asking to speak with the regional manager we have been bounced around and given the same useless response.
This apartment complex is not safe to move into. Their own maintenance staff told us that in order to avoid liability the office would not provide proper mold testing and would require us to mitigate the mold issue on our own. Guess what their solution was…to allow us to break our lease penalty free so we could leave. Instead of solving the issues present they would rather have a tenant move out until the next one realized the issues.

I lived here for 6 months, and don't think I could have done much longer. I made the mistake of not checking out the unit before signing the lease because they told me someone was living in there so I wouldn't be able to check it out first, but showed me a similar unit. It was very cheap for a 1bed2bath (1100 dollars.) and it's my first apartment. The unit reeked of smoke, and I have been moved out for 6 months and my clothes and even my car still have the smell of smoke. My own family would gag being around me because the smell was so bad. It was humiliating. That wasn't even the worst part. It was the brown recluses. When it had warmed up near April, they started swarming my apartment. I would find a few a day, on my toothbrush holder, in my clothes, literally everywhere and I lived in constant fear. One night I had one in my bed covers, and had to go buy a bug net to go around my bed so I could sleep otherwise I would be up all night checking for them and having the feeling they were crawling all over me. They did have someone come spray, but it did nothing. There were always at least 10 of them in our outdoor closet at all times. I don't think I could ever do that again, it was mentally draining from all the paranoia and fear of being bitten. SO if you are at risk of being severely hurt by them, please don't risk it! I am giving them a two-star due to their staff was at least very friendly towards me and always responded to me quickly. Only issue I think their staffing was slim so most of the time during their office hours there is nobody there to answer the door. It was pretty quiet overall, besides the upstairs neighbors constantly fighting and stomping, and once they moved out they did renovations to the upstairs (the sound of saws and hammering was brutal) starting really early in the morning for about 2 weeks. (That was really annoying because I work late and usually wake up at 11am) I about had a heart attack by being woken up because they were throwing trash off the balcony at 8am which sounded like an explosion, and proceeded to leave it there on the lawn for weeks. I had only seen police a few times, so it definitely has some bad apples living here. If you have a higher budget, I would recommend going somewhere else.

My biggest complaint is the parking and the trash.it would be nice if they offered designated spots in front of each building for the people that actually live in the building.almost every spot in front of my building is always taken by someone who lives across the way.it would be great at this point to even pay for a spot but that's not an option.and the trash, bad situation. I actually witnessed people dumping trash and I'm pretty certain they didnt live in my area.their whole SUV was full of white trash bags and they dumped them all. I personally have not had any issues with maintenance o
r office staff.my stay has been decent but the parking presents a real issue for me.the tenants in my building, for the most part, respect the quite hours.oh yeah, maintenance replaced a washer in my neighbors apt at least 3 wks ago and it is still sitting outside by the steps.not sure why its rather unsightly.perhaps they forgot its there.

Remington Apartments is fantastic. We lived there for a little over a year. They were responsive to our AC going out and had it up and running within 48 hours. Very responsive considering the time of day they were first notified.

Karen at Remington Apartments is awesome! We highly recommend dealing with her as she was very responsive and communicated very directly with no spin. Remington Apartments was a breath of fresh air compared to previous apartments we had rented in downtown St. Louis.

Only reason we left is because we started a family and needed a house as we grow.

Other reviewers must have had a different experience than we did. Expectations, communication and amenities were all fantastic for us.

I don’t know where to begin. Me and my guy have been living here a year. We just renewed our lease for one more year, we’re buying a house next year. I fell In love with this complex when I first moved here. It was peaceful and clean. Soo much has changed. We’ve had a lot of noisy neighbors move in next to us. The people under us are always arguing and fighting kicking doors in, playing loud music until 4am you can’t even take a nap during the day because the neighbors around us are soo noisy. The dumpsters are always over full with trash everywhere and it’s always couches and other furniture sitting outside everywhere on the grass or parking lot. Who wants to come home to that? The internet and WiFi never works because it’s a bad area where we are so we can’t enjoy it because the connection constantly goes out! Our AC has went out 2 times, they told us they wouldn’t fix it unless it was 80 degrees outside and it was 75. I have a 4 year old son and it was so hot we had to go stay at a hotel for a week until it was fixed. Days later after they claimed to replace everything it went out again. Our sink was leaking water it took days for them to fix it. We’ve put in request for our freezer door and our front door months ago and nobody has came to fix anything! Weve called and they told us it’s not an emergency so we have to wait. It’s very sad because we pay over $1000 to live here and it’s not worth it especially when you can’t enjoy you hard earned spent money. However I enjoy having a washer and dryer inside my apartment and my spacious patio. I hate it here don’t move here

If there was any way to give - I would! I rented an apartment in July …paid all the fees and deposits. The apartment wasn’t ready to move in until October 30. Due to health problems I had to cancel the apartment (it had steps and I wasn’t able to do them) anyway I canceled September 1, since it was past the 72 hour mark to change your mind Remington kept ALL the monies! My deposit, pet deposit first and last months rent. Long story short I’m out $5000.00. AND…. I’ve never stepped foot in that apartment and canceled a MONTH before my move in date! I will NEVER rent from this place or recommend it to anyone! I should have went with my gut feeling after reading all the negative reviews. But I rented anyway. READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU RENT AND ASK QUESTIONS!

STAY AWAY! The absolute worst people running the property. Your rent doesn’t cover services, or maintenance, or if you have apartment issues. The apartment app the require you to use they only use to take your money- not honor your requests. Apparently anything wrong in the apartment isYOUR job and YOUR fault. They wouldn’t help get air in the apartment even when it hit 80 inside.

Everyone sounds nice but the leasing/property manager is the most unhappy person- her team act like they are scammers following a smile and a script.

Beautiful property just not with the expensive rent.
Pool area has tons of ants even in the pool, gross large spiders will visit the apartment. Our apartment had a THICK wall of smoke and they couldn’t even empathize. Just matter of fact like “put up with it. We don’t care”. Just stay away. 2 months was more than enough anger and frustration to endure.

I only wish I could give a rating of zero stars, we have had a water leak since August with the only solution so far being three buckets under the leak and maintenance team members “looking at the roof” at least 10 times.

If you are thinking of renting here, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

***Update: since I cannot respond directly through reviews, my best guess is that over 75 calls were made in the last year regarding this leak, and we moved out at the end of May with no resolution at the time we left. My evaluation of this place remains unchanged 0/10, would not recommend***

Been here a year and a half. The first year was great. Then the management changed. Now it takes months to get things fixed. I've talked with other tenants and they have the same problems. They will randomly charge you for stuff without giving notice and then they will put a notice for eviction if the bill isn't paid by end of that business day which by the way is before I get home a lot of days. Both times it was for less that $20 for stuff they shouldn't have charged me. I have paid every bill on time since moving in but I don't get a call or email when they charge me just eviction threatening. I could go on and on about all the problems since the new management started. I can't wait till my lease is up.

Do yourself a favor and don't rent here. You'll hate it.

Maintenance is HORRIBLE. You wait week's for simple task and even longer for more serious ones. No way you expect full rent that includes all working appliances and leave your renters in bad situations due to poor management and maintenance.

I just moved here and am already ready to go. I put in maintenance request when I first got here it is now three weeks later and still nothing. I've called and continuously am told that it is not an "emergency" so it will get fixed whenever it does. I'm paying to use two bathrooms not one. I keep putting in request and I have emailed with no response. I am counting down the days until I can leave. I have never waited more than 48 hours for a maintenance request anywhere.

Where to begin. Should I start with my a/c being out for almost a year? By the way after several maintenance requests they didn’t fix it until I wrote a letter to the st charles county health department as well as the bbb. When I did that all of a sudden it only took a week to fix. Throughout the pandemic they harassed me about late payments even though I sent several emails stating up to date on when I’d send in payments. Also there’s several cases of mold reported. Right now I have COVID-19 as well as asthma. I move out in 4 days but I’m being harassed about a company that they want to come clean my chimney while I’m quarantined with a respiratory infection.the men already let me know they won’t wear masks and “don’t care about covid” yeah just don’t move here

This is a very long post detailing two terrible maintenance emergencies we had at Remington Apartments. I am posting now because we are finally moved out of there after purchasing our own home, thank God! I will say, aside from a very poorly managed office, who lacks communication with maintenance, I did not have any other problems at Remington. Our neighbors and the people around us were very friendly and there were a ton of dogs that lived there, ours being included, so it was a very pet-friendly place. The office staff lacks communication, the system they use for maintenance work orders is TERRIBLE, and they would give last minute notifications when someone was coming that needed in our apartment (a situation that was not related to a work order from us). They would tell us the day before that power would be shut off for a day, which was a huge inconvenience since my boyfriend works from home due to the pandemic. Anyways, here is my post:

Last summer on July 24th, 2020 we came home at 12: 30pm and our carpet in the dining area was soaking wet. Our ac leaked through the wall, and stopped working. We immediately put in a work order and left. When we came home that night at 11: 00pm, the carpet was ripped up and a fan was blowing the water dry. The AC was not working still so we had to move the fan into the bedroom to sleep. The next day, Saturday, we called and were told someone was coming out that day to fix it. Considering it was 95 degrees outside and the end of July, this was an emergency. We had to send our dog to stay with my boyfriend’s mom as it was way too hot for him. We left for the afternoon and came back around 5pm, where nothing was fixed, no one had stopped by, and no one had called. We put in another order and called the emergency line and still no one answered or got back to us. Sunday morning, we called the office and they said the same thing, someone would be by. This is going on day 3 of no AC in the middle of Summertime. We were told there were other emergencies and we had to wait in line. We had been waiting since mid-Friday afternoon. The entire day goes by and once again, no one came by, no one called, nothing was fixed. Monday, same thing. The office claims people were stopping by, but they weren’t. It was still 96 degrees in our apartment and we had to constantly move the big way from the living room to the bedroom to keep us cool. At this point, there were multiple work orders put in in hopes that someone would come by. Tuesday morning, I was at my breaking point. I waited an hour after the office opened to call. I got very angry and assertive on the phone. I demanded someone come fix our AC immediately as it was day 5 with nothing. The office lady was very ignorant back to me, making it seem like there were many other desperate emergencies more important than ours, that we were trying to skip our turn in line of the work orders, and claimed people had been by, they just had not been inside our apartment. I said regardless if they came by or not, no one has informed us of an update, no one came to knock on our door to let us know what was going on, no one has apologized for the entire inconvenience, and OUR AC STILL WAS NOT FIXED. I asked her if she wanted to pay for and live in a place with no AC in 95-degree weather. Finally, that afternoon someone came by and fixed our AC. It is no a coincidence to me that the day I got angry was the day it was fixed, even though she claimed someone had been by before.

Unit 2015- under my boyfriends name and we moved out March 1st. Since Remington is claiming they have no record.

We had been having heat issues for a while now, as in a few months. Our thermostat would be set to a number, typically 68 or 70, but would continue to run until we manually shut it off. We would wake up in the morning to it being 76 degrees in our apartment. No matter what we set the thermostat to, it would continue to run until it was 76 degrees (sometimes higher) but this week it was bad enough that we needed to do something about it and put in a work order. I kept tabs on each day everything that happened:

2/09- thermostat went up to 86 and Would not turn off. Our heat is ALWAYS set at 68-70. But it does NOT stop when it gets to that temperature. It keeps running and running until we manually turn it off. This night, it kept running even when it was off.

2/10- heat got up to 89. Would not turn off again. Had to run AC for an hour to get thermostat to drop down. Put in a Work order. Called the emergency line at 7: 30pm and talked to Eddie. He said he didn’t have the part with him but said he’d be over first thing in the morning. If he is an On call emergency maintenance guy, why can’t he go to the office and get the part? He said he didn’t want to drive and get the part.

2/11- Eddie, or no one else, ever came by like he said the night before. I called maintenance twice with no answer. Called office at 315pm because our heat is running at 86 degrees. Not only is this way too hot, but considering it’s February and cold out, our heat bill was going to be through the roof since it was running so high and working twice as hard as needed. We were told “he has other emergencies and will be there when he can, hopefully today. ” I made a point to say we have been sleeping in 90 degree apartment for two nights now. At 540pm I called the office back to ask where maintenance was as OUR HEAT STILL WOULD NOT TURN OFF. The office said they sent their maintenance guys home at 5. Well, why were we told someone would be by before 6pm? And why would you send them home if there was still work orders to get to? Why were we told last night someone would be by first thing this morning? We asked the office what do we do if no one shows up by 6. She said call the emergency line and she will call to check in tomorrow morning to see if it was fixed. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE DID THE NIGHT BEFORE AND NO ONE CHECKED IN THIS MORNING AND NO ONE CAME BY AT ALL TODAY.

Are you going to pay our heat bill since it’s been above 90 degrees for 3 days straight now?

2/12: office called at 10: 30am, they returned our phone call at 11: 00am. She ensured us that someone was coming over as soon as possible. This is day 4 of heat not turning off and day 3 of contacting the office being told that “someone will be over as soon as possible” or “someone will be by first thing in The morning. ” It’s 1: 40pm right now and 81 degrees in the apartment even though the thermostat is set at 72. Finally around 4: 00pm today, someone came by and took a quick look at it and said we just needed a new connector as that is what was making it run and run and not shut off. He said several other apartment units in Remington have had the same issue because they are so old and need to be updated.
