Rock Island Spur Pleasant Hill Trailhead reviews
18The trail head is close enough to the farmers market on Saturday and the Cafe so you can grab a bite before heading out
Well maintained parking area with info kiosk for the trail. The Porta Potty needed some attention.
Lack of cell service turns me off from the trail here. Combine that with areas you are sharing a road with cars and large farm vehicles even on the trail itself. I would rather drive up towards Lee's Summit and bike the 8 or so miles of trail there.
Very nice maintained trail. Only bad part was a small walk on a road between trail sections.
This is an excellent trail. Anyone giving this less than 5 stars on here is doing others a disservice.
The first mile isn't "runner friendly" but when you actually get on the trail, it's cool.
Not sure where this "trailhead" is supposed to go but it leads straight into a really sketchy neighborhood with no sidewalks
A total hidden gem! Or at least not appreciated enough. This trail is very well taken care of and whenever I go it’s never that busy. Great place to walk with the family or bike with friends. Just a short trip from downtown Pleasant Hill which has several quaint shops and restaurants. Great parking and easy to find make this a great place to start the trail!
Love love love! Perfect for everyone! I grew up on one end, and now I live on the other end! It's amazing! Horses, bikes, dogs, kids, family!
The scenic trail accessible from this trailhead makes for good mostly flat, mostly firm gravel surface riding. You can get some serious miles in, if you like. Or not.
Most of the trail is small gravel, very much like what we'd have called "chat" back in the day, with enough loose gravel in some repaired spots to make it worthwhile to pay attention.
Signage correctly warns riders that the shoulders are "soft" and drop off fairly steeply.
Be advised, the portable toilet at the trailhead is handicap accessible, but (at this writing) in serious need of cleaning & maintenance.
It was wonderful my friend and I went for a 30 mile ride it was pretty rough it really needs drug out again it was a very beautiful 75 degree weather had a great time
We had a great overnight ride from Pleasant Hill to Windsor. Besides the beautiful scenery I was so impressed by the clean, well maintained trail-stop restrooms along the way. Hats off to the MO Parks Department for their tireless work to make the Katy Trail a "National Treasure".
What a jewel to have this in around KC. This needs to get connected to Union station ASAP!
Very secluded beautiful scenery! Downfall is all the roads you have to cross. Just be safe. If theres a stop sign it's there for a reason. Several blind corner road crossings. By far one of my favorite places to ride gravel.
Nice out and back well maintained trail. Love all the shade and the tunnel. I almost gave it 4 stars because it's not finished and I wish it was connected to the other part of the trail.
A gravel treadmill. Gotta ride it with friends or listen to a good book for the long rides.
The bridge was neat but I didn't like having to walk down 7 highway. I would not take a beginner horse or rider on this route due to the highway and lack of shoulder to keep our distance from the traffic.
I will never start at that trail head again. You have to ride a ways on 58 hwy. I was hugging the right side of my lane. I was watching a incoming truck, and when it got to me another truck passed me. We were all three side by side in two lanes. I do like having places to ride. I used to ride horses on the Katy and I loved it.
