Pretty great and picturesque trail along a winding and elevated cove. It was admittedly a bit much for young kiddos but they made it through nonetheless. One portion heading up a hill was too muddy so we cut off that leg, but it was still a very enjoyable hike on a nice day

Visiting hiker from Georgia. Rocky terrain in spots, but I'm finding that's a thing here. Lovely forest and lakeside gander. Nice view of the lake about halfway. It was a nice easy 2 miler with a smidgen of an incline if you go right to start.

Described as "easy", but leans to the moderate due to uneven surfaces and sustained uphill ascents.

Great hiking trail! We were looking for one that was pretty clear to avoid ticks and this was exactly what we needed. Beautiful views and a moderately challenging climb!

Very nice area for multiple outside outings. We ran the trails this trip which vary in easy and technical rocky terrain. It has a nice overlook secluded back in the state park coves for sunrise views. There is boat launch, swimming areas and store and restroom available in the area.

I'm not an athlete by any means but I walked the mile trail. The paths were walkable and the views were spectacular!

I took my 7 year old along and he did great.

There are plenty of spots to step onto, avoid slipping, maneuver around things, etc, which is no problem, but it's mostly flat and easy to hike.

The trail is mostly in a loop. There's a short section that runs out and back that takes you from the parking lot to the loop.

On the loop there is very high, beautiful view of the lake.

As far as safety goes, mind the edge when you're on the overlook. And also wear insect repellent. There are many areas with tall grass to walk through and ticks are always waiting...

It's like a rock garden, you do have to watch your footing to not trip. There are a few places that are rather steep on the trail.

We loved this trail. Didn't have on the right shoes as this was a spontaneous decision. But it was a great trail. Wear hiking shoes/boots! It is very "rocky"! There are yellow trail markers which helps the novice like me.

Our first Lake of the Ozarks hike. We completed it with our 7 year old. It is quite rocky and there are a few areas with moderately steep inclines and declines. We loved the hike, our daughter did trip a couple times though. There are a lot of rocks on the trail, so little children need to be regularly reminded to watch where they step. The consequences can be severe due to the rocks on the trail (i.e. A trip where they hit their head on a larger rock). The scenery is beautiful and it is well worth the 90-120 minutes it takes to do the loop.

Beautiful scenery. The trail wasn't as easy with all the uneven terrain, but was still fun. Not really a kid friendly trail with the length and terrain.

This is a shorter hike up the side of a hill which opens up into a large open area with good views. We took our small kids to the top and back and had to carry one back down, not strenuous at all. Just dont slip on a loose rock.

Great trail! It's not difficult to complete and was great for a short hike. Fantastic views of the water!

Trail or maybe more of a wrong turn and dead end. Always pretty to cruise around beautiful Lake of the Ozarks but not impressed much.

A great path that leads to a lovely overlook of the lake. The path is somewhat rugged and there are some elevation changes that make it a bit more of a challenge but still definitely worth the work.
