SA Recycling, St Charles MO

Waited for approximately 2 1/2 hours. No clue why it was taking so long. Workers had no answers. It was a absolute joke.

The road going back to SA Recycling is not welcoming. There was a folding chair in the middle of the road the day I visited. They have a drive-thru where you drop off your recycles. After weighing in, you drive to an ATM which dispenses your funds and is still in the building. Simple process. Just not welcoming!

DO NOT GO HERE! I came into the St Charles location today to cash in some copper. My husband is an electrician, I don’t know much about copper but I know enough. I had 178 pounds of insulated copper. They tried to tell me I had #2 mixed in with # 1 and they could only pay me $64.74 for all of it. I called there this morning and they said #1 was 1.98 a pound and #2 was. 57 per pound. When I asked how it was $64 for almost 200 pounds they told me it was a mid grade price since it was mixed. I did the math they were trying to pay me less than. 30 a pound. Not sure how that works since even the #2 should have been. 57 a pound. I loaded it all back up and went to Didion. As I thought I had all #1 insulated copper and they paid 1.90 per pound. I got over $300 dollars for the copper. I guess since I’m a women they thought they could scam me. Don’t ever assume someone is dumb enough to get ripped off that bad because of their gender.

This place is a joke. Web site says that they're open until 12: 30 on Saturday. I pulled up at 11: 56 and not a soul in site! I wasn't too happy to say the least.

Great place to bring anything from cans to construction type materials for recycling ️. Make sure tou get there out 30 minutes before they close. They leave on time and if the line is long they will cut it off so plan ahead. They only do metal so no wood products or paints and spray cams. Just remember nothing flammable but if it's brass, copper, aluminum or steal this is your place

Just took #1 copper really clean. Had maybe 1/2 lb out of 50 that had a light green on it and gave #2 price really scamming

They close at 12: 30pm. We show up 5 till as well as one other car. They close their doors as we’re pulling up. I walk around back to talk to them. The manager on duty said by the time we get done processing it will be after 12: 30pm. Hours posted are for customers, not for employees. When a restaurant closes at the end of the night, customers are not allowed in, but the employees count their tills, their tips, clean, and prepare for the next day. I asked to speak to someone else and only one other gentleman was there who threatened to call the police because of my argument, even though I was right. I insisted on seeing their hours so I can take a picture and post a review, but they openly refused and told me to leave or they would call the police. Rude, lazy, not customer oriented, can’t be reasoned with or asked to be treated right, and I will never recommend them to anyone, rather the opposite, do not go here if you are looking for integrity or respect. Or at least from the people that were working the Saturday shift of 9/25/2021 @ 12: 25pm CST. Doing such will get the cops called on you.

Love this place. Compared to other scrap yards they have great prices, and its organized. The employees are great but the best part is the location.

Crush your cans they pay more for crushed cans. Doesn't take long to crush them and you have more room to save them in? They pay almost a third more for crushed if my math is correct.

Decided to give this place a chance today to get a commercial account set up with them for us to bring them converters from our business.
The technician on the lot wouldn't even make the effort of checking out this diesel converter I brought in due to the fact that had a tail pipe attached still to it.
Every other scrapyard that I have been through I have not had this issue I will not use this place again and I will not refer any of my fellow businesses or friends to this place as well.

The absolute worst deal I've ever received. I dropped a 300# commercial oven and some iron.got $5. I hear there is a much better deal at the scrap yard off hwy 79. Ill be going there next time.
