Saint Stanislaus Conservation Area reviews
17Such a pretty place that I stumbled upon one evening. Looks like there is a lot more to explore and I would love to go back when they days are longer. Some water runs through different areas, lots of trees and paths. A little noisy as it’s right off a main road but still really nice. It’s nice to have these parks in my area, it’s a good way to clear my mind after a long day.
This a beautiful place with great paths to walk. There are many easy paths to just leisurely enjoy nature, and a few challenging up hill routes if you want a work out. I love that it's so natural and not a bunch of paved man made paths. I can't believe I lived here for so long and never knew about this place. I go almost every weekend now.
This hike gives me a feeling what Lewis and Clark must have seen. It has a wilderness feeling. I didn't have time to explore the recesses of this hike. It has a short trail for easy walking and longer trails for the experienced hiker. Whatever your experience It will make you want to go back and enjoy more just like Lewis and Clark. The Lord's expanse of creation reveals itself in a mighty way.
This place is gorgeous. Lots of places to walk/hike, play with your dogs, disk golf, basketball court, waterfront to fish from. I love the view.
I was expecting a biking/walking trail that led to the river. Only a fraction of the course was paved. I will better research in the future.
Very neat area not far from the Missouri river, lots of wildlife and wildflowers throughout the wooded areas. Nice hike over terrain and on the lowland trails.
Absolutely beautiful and spacious. Many different trails as well as old ruins to explore. Do be careful on the trails. Respect the land. And if you come at night, sometimes you may hear a large group of coyotes howling.
I love this park. Could elevation, beautiful scenery, and a fun hike. Only thing missing are deer
Pleasant retreat near the river. Great place to encounter various birds. Saw and recorded pileated woodpeckers and barred owls. The trails are for the most part unmarked and the map provided at the entrance did not reflect anything I encountered after crossing the creek on the little bridge. When walking in the low wetland make sure you keep an eye out. There are archers all around.
Had an amazing hike here. I had never been here before. It was an amazing date, we hiked all along the river and seen some really cool historic sites. I will be researching the place more and coming back
Great hike! Lewis and Clark stopped here to explore. There is one crazy hill to climb if you hike counter-clockwise from the trailhead.
Nice afternoon hike. Can get muddy after rain. The bottoms are a bit crowded, but the hill up to the former monastery is quiet with the sounds of dozens of species of birds.
Not bad. Trails aren't very well marked and honestly there just isn't much to see here. Fairly quiet and a decent hike though. Part of the trail is very steep. Probably extremely difficult when muddy.
This would be a great place for trail riding or running. Trails run the rivers edge with flat trails and steep terrain. You couldn’t find a better place to get away that’s close to everything.
Me and my friends go here almost every week, it's really nice to take pictures and such.
Trails is heavily deteriorated. When the loop turns to the big incline it is easily lost. Go to the Right side of the ravine to the right of the fallen tree then steeply up. After about 5 mins you will see a stone wall and round hollowed pit. I used all trails tracking to keep myself on route.
Trail was hard to discern because of fall leaves. Moderate hike with some incline but serene and picturesque. Many signs that confused us on private vs conservation land.
