Restaurant Savor reviews
17 We tried for the first time. Waitress was a bit slow. She took one person's order, then left, and we had to wait for her to come back for the rest of our orders? There was 6 of us. Then one person would order a 2nd drink, and she didn't ask if anybody else needed another drink, she just left. She did this all evening! We had to keep waiting for her to come back and had to tell her the rest of us wanted drinks too.
Three of us ordered corned beef and cabbage. The food was good, but the portions were horribly small for a $16.99 meal. I got a fair amount of meat, but only 2, yes 2 potato chunks, and about 1/3 cup of cabbage. The potatoes and cabbage came on a plate the size of a coffee cup saucer, that's how small the servings were! I ALWAYS have leftovers. This was barely enough for one meal! I asked the person that brought out our food if me and the other two people that ordered corned beef and cabbage could please have more potatoes and cabbage. She told me that she told the cook (or whoever made our plates,) that the portions were really small. She brought back one small plate, with four small potato chunks on it, so we all three split it, so now we each had 3 small potato chunks, not even one whole potato, and it also had about 3 tablespoons of cabbage, NOT kidding. It didn't come with bread or rolls and butter. I asked if they had butter and bread and they brought some out. The food tasted good, but it was a kid-sized meal, for $16. Definitely NOT worth it. Two people got cheeseburgers and said that were good, not sure how much they cost.
The service was not good. The waitress kept leaving and we had to keep waiting for her to come back to order something. Not once did she come back after we got our food, to ask if everything was okay, or to see if we needed anything.
We ate there on St. Patrick's Day and there was only one other table when we arrived. For the cost of my meal, the quantity of food, and the bad service, I'm not sure if I'll be back. It is a new place, so I may give it another chance, and would hopefully not get the same waitress. I wonder if she had ever even waitressed before?
A great overall time- food, ambiance, and amenities! In from out of town and we went with family who had recently discovered Savor, saying the food was fabulous, (and that they had had the best hamburger they ever had there). They were right about all the food we had! The brussels sprouts with bacon and goat cheese were creative and fabulous. Hamburgers and chicken fried meatballs (yes chicken fried meatballs - with gravy over mashed potatoes) were delicious. House Cabernet was very good (which is often not the case in many places.). All was reasonably priced for our group of 4 with appetizer, drinks and dinner.
What inspired me to give a review, besides fun atmosphere, live music tonight, beer company there giving out samples to try, and the delicious food, was the most amazingly well appointed ladies room I have EVER been in in my life! Bobby pins, sewing kit, mints, safety pins, hair spray, dental floss pics, and on and on! All the things we ladies need at times - all free! A sign of thoughtfulness for the customers!
I asked for the manager to compliment them and we met the owner, Marsha. She was so nice and welcoming, sharing stories about menu items we asked about, how she started the business, etc. I would highly recommend trying Savor! Marsha is a hands on owner/ operator who has some fun ideas, including happy hour prices, adding an outside patio in back which she is expanding this fall, and having an Octoberfest, plus more! A great example of someone who is putting her heart into her business! Well done! Thanks for a fun evening! Please try them!
My new go-to spot in St. Charles! Amazing drink selection, taaaasty food, & wonderful service. My drink was never empty and neither was my stomach. The owners were so kind and truly care about every guest’s experience. BIG fan, highly recommend!
Love this place! Live music was great and the truffle fries and soup of the day was too good!
Amazing food! I’ve had the chicken sandwich and the cheeseburger. Both excellent! Service has been great both times I was here.
Great place for apps, dinner, and drinks on Main Street.
Burgers, brussel sprouts, and the best Old Fashioned!
Great indoor/outdoor atmosphere. Have food specials that are not listed on the menu. Food was very good mango chicken sandwich and grilled cheese. Drink specials in late afternoon. Jason bartender was awesome! Band sometimes, check schedule. Pet friendly on patio, water bowls for them as well. Loved this place!
We had a great experience. The food was great, the service was good, and I had 2 drinks that I really enjoyed. My wife felt the same way. We will definitely be back.
We were here in March and loved the food, so we eagerly returned in July. The deep fried meatballs on mashed potato with creamed pepper sauce and grilled corn absolutely rocked! (Who comes up with these recipes?) Also loved the maple, bacon Brussels sprouts with feta cheese, yum! This trip I had the margarita chicken with mango sauce and lime rice and it did not disappoint - bursting with flavor! The burgers are also huge, unique and full of flavor. For dessert, we shared the apple dumpling which was very good as well. Thanks, chef - whoever you are!
I wish I could have at least tried the food. We sat down and never got waited on. No one acknowledged us. After 30 mins we decided to leave.
Great locally owned, woman owned business on historic Main Street St Charles MO. Our group shared the Brussels Sprouts, Crawfish ravioli, and the smothered tots. The sauces, the finishing flourishes were great tasting, and had nice flavor layers.
Acoustics are bad and it’s difficult to hear others at your table. The food was good and our server was decent. My big complaint and the reason we would be hesitant to return is after eating we were asked to leave our table for another party. We weren’t finished with our drinks. Having worked in the restaurant business for years the only possible way I would ask a party to vacate their table is to approach the table with an offer of drinks on the house (we only had a party of 4).
Phenomenal service, food and drinks! Awesome live music to set the atmosphere on a Friday night. Will be going back regularly!
Stopped in for a drink and a little bite of food! What a great place to go!
Our server was over the top and the food was amazing.
What a cool place to eat. Service was great. Owner is great person. Food was delicious. Highly recommend checking this place out.
I love this place! It’s new and upcoming! I had the truffles fries and they are the best thing I ever had. Kids are allowed as well
This place is amazing! You’ll absolutely love the food, and the owner is amazing! I’ve worked for her before and she’s fantastic. The bartenders are great and can make you whatever drink that will appease you. 10000000/10 recommend this place. My boyfriend spends almost all his lunch breaks here. It’s a new place and you should definitely check out the patio. Cool atmosphere, not too crazy but definitely so so fun!
