Shanghai Inn reviews
19My Family and I have bee. Going to Shanghai Inn since the mid or early 1980's They have amazing food and I really like Flossy she has been a familar face to me and has been there all this time. The only complaint i have is they raise their prices all the time and they are pretty pricey anymore. I still go there ocasionally because I love their food.
Unfortunately i have had good food there but today i just order fried rice. I ended up throwing it away
I have used the driv-thru & have ate inside here and have never found another place that even comes close to the food they make. This is the only place that I'd ever give a 5star rating.
Great food, excellent customer service!
I would love to see more traditional Chinese food on the menu, but I know other people aren't as open to trying it. Everything we had was fantastic though!
Sesame chicken had the best fried chicken I've had with Chinese food. Crab Rangoon was amazing, but I wish there was crab in it! Had it the next day though and the wonton was still crispy and delicious. Chicken & Shrimp combo fried rice was one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had! And the Beef and Broccoli was phenomenal.
I can't wait to try it again.
Favorite Dishes: Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken
Getting away from the Cashew Chicken, this was my personal favorite Chinese food place in town and I remember how I felt when I discovered it. It's a small place, I didn't have high expectations, and there was a deal on the Orange Chicken at the time, so I ordered it. My mind was blown. I have never since had orange chicken like theirs, and it is something I often crave. They have other great dishes here, too, but try the orange chicken and you will fall in love. It is not a glaze, but a dark and rich spiced citrus sauce, featuring chilis and aromatics. It was so good. There were times I'd feel like I was in the mood for Cashew Chicken, but felt somewhat undecided, and then I'd remember the Orange Chicken and have to go here instead. I've walked here, back when I lived on the North side, and driven across town to eat here when I didn't. It's such a hidden treasure, and never as busy as it should be.
It was good The wife and I eat there fairly often this time we switched it up a little bit and I went with the kung pao chicken and she went with the shrimp lo mein both were exquisite and great portion size
Great service and food. Need a little more on the quantity of rice and chicken though, maybe my teenage boys were just very hungry.
Very pleasantly surprised by this little place I've driven by for years but finally visited last week.
First of all, they've got the best flippin' potstickers on Earth! The reviews raving about the egg rolls were spot-on. If you're a "has to be a specific kind of egg roll" person (I am), you'll probably love them.
Everything was hot and fresh and the owner (I think) was super nice even though I rolled up at 20 minutes til close. Portions were generous, everything was delicious, even the leftovers were great.
The chicken was nice and Crispy. My favorite was the garlic sauce. Beautiful egg rolls and yummy crab rangoon
They give huge portion sizes & food is AMAZING! Owners are very sweet & the service is great!
Ive had Chinese food in a lot of parts of the country and this establishment has amazing Chinese food. Great pricing as well
Their Orange.chicken w veg is very good! You should try them out if you feeling like having oriental. Big portions at a great price too.
They have the absolute best egg rolls! They are handmade way better quality than the egg rolls other Chinese places make. The combination lo main is also excellent.
I've never gotten a bad thing here & we've been coming here since moving to Springfield in the 90's! Hands down my favorite in town!
Your food was below our expectations. The sauce on a cashew shrimp was bland, and the shrimp was heavily battered. No veggies were incised. Never happened toi me before.
Their food is way different from Shanghai food. Very weird taste from a Chinese native’s perspective. Food materials are not fresh either.
I have came here many times but this time it was a whole lot of rice and a little chicken. I ate a whole combo meal and was still hungry. Same price less food.
The lady that was running the counter was very hateful. There was a new worker there that she was trying to train and all she could do was yell at him.
We ordered a meal for two and I don't know what they gave us but it didn't look like a meal for two and we went and complained and she said there was nothing that they could do about it.
If I could give this a big fat zero I would. This place is not worth it I would not go there.
When checking out, cashier did not inform me that the meal for two could not include shrimp fried rice causing me to pay a lot more than I wanted and getting to much food. What I got tasted ok, but as there was way too much, a lot went to waste.
