Shelbina Family Restaurant reviews
16Stopped a few years back and still a winner. Loved the fries, chicken fried steak and the simple but fresh and crisp salad!
Great everytime we're up there from STL! Call ahead if you're heart is set on fried mushrooms.
Good breakfast, good sandwiches, soup, and sides. Favorite for me is Chicken Fried Steak (for winter time).
Even great smiles and country manners!
A great little restaurant with a varied menu and breakfast all day! Easy to get to, friendly service, & good food.
Absolutely wonderful experience! The waitress was so sweet and helpful, Lovely atmosphere and excellent service, The food was all delicious and fresh. Definitely made from good quality ingredients, you can just tell. Very home-made taste. Definitely recommend the apple pie! And anything else on the menu.:) Only wish I lived close enough to stop in again sometime. I'd give six stars if I could.
Best veggie omelet & pancakes. Bug serving sizes, pre-covid pricing. Kids meal spaghetti is full of juicy meatball & delicious! Our server, Isabella (5) was very thoughtful & polite. Highly recommended!
We were looking for some comfort food along our route and decided to give this place a try. The cinnamon french toast was delightful. My husband had the chicken fried steak. He's very picky about this dish and, while it wasn't his favorite of all time or anything, he did like it. I get the feeling this is the kind of place where you definitely should try the daily special. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and service was fast. While there's not anything extraordinary about this place, we enjoyed our meal and felt it was worth the stop.
The food is amazing. The staff was kind. Clean, home cooked family meals.
I had 4 kids with me, and all of them had clean plates. Good portion sizes.
Great food plenty to eat with some left over for just little amount of money spent. The waitresses were very polite and quick to jump from customer to customer to keep drinks refilled
We stop in to the Family Restaurant on our way home from Kansas because they good wholesome food. Nothing fancy, but everything tasty. We both had the special (chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and white gravy and a salad for 8.00) and it tasted great! So if you want home cooking on the road stop in for a bite.
We decided to give this place a go on a recent road trip. The experience was ok. Wasn't bad, but definitely wasn't great either.
Place was a bit cluttered, but overall clean on our visit. The service was outstanding! The servers were super friendly, helpful & attentive. If for the service alone, we would give 5 stars.
The food was.ok. I think it could be a lot better. The cabbage soup I had, I admit, was great.
My burger patty was a bit overcooked. My partner had a cheeseburger and fries, and his fries were undercooked and cool in the middle.
It wasn't so bad we complained at the time, but it was noticeable.
I think maybe this was just an off day, and we totally understand that. It happens. We wouldn't hesitate at all to give this place another go.
Plenty of parking in front of building. Easy access to road. Next door to convenience store.
The steak skillet…hit the spot! The service was wonderful! Glad I was in the area to experience this place. Y’all keep up the good work.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Breakfast wrap and the Omelet for a brunchy-lunch as we passed through!
The food you get for take out is far less that you when you eat in.less food for same money not fair
Had breakfast here. Very good food and more than I could eat. Reasonably priced. Quick service.
Nice eatery in this little map-dot town.
Food was good and prepared well.
Cherry pie was incredible, not your typical red cherries in a thick sticky sweet syrup, this was certainly homemade with tart cherries. Scrumptious!
Server was kind of anti-social, it was apparent I was interrupting her girl-talk time on the other side of the room.
Place is far bigger inside than it's outside appearance. So much so I thought I had just entered a twilight zone episode.
