Shogun Japanese Steakhouse, St Charles MO

We love this place but the last time we visited the chicken was pre-cooked and already cut into pieces before it was placed on the griddle.

It tasted processed and is no longer our favorite. We will be getting shrimp and steak on future visits.

We made reservations at 7: 30, was barely greeted told it would be a few minutes. 10 or so minutes went by and we were told again it would be a few minutes, another couple walked in about 5 minutes later with the same reservation time by then it was about 7: 45, they were told they were getting a table ready and it would be about 15 minutes. The other couple and our pair were talking and they decided to leave about the same time we did. We had ordered drinks while we were waiting so when he came back out we asked for the check and told him the other couple left and he replied only with "ok perfect" and handed us our check. No apologies, nothing. He was genuinely relieved that all the customers waiting for their table left. We waited for about 45 minutes after our reservation before we left. They have great food but it's a shame that the service was so poor that we won't go back.

I've been here several times and love the food! They fold your leftovers into fun shapes like crabs, cranes, and baskets. The fried rice is to die for once you add soy sauce in it. Some of the staff are more chill than showy, but as an introvert, I personally prefer that more.

Will not recommend, service is really bad. Our waiter disappeared, couldn't get my drinks refilled or a spoon to enjoy my food. Chef was normal wasn't even funny. Not worth the money go somewhere else

Food is good, service is great, just needs a little updating and sprucing up on the interior and tables.

I love going here with my boyfriend the food is awesome until there was some minor set backs just recently I had an allergic reaction to mushrooms & had to call an ambulance to get medical help but at the end I was just fine & I would like to say thank you to everyone that stood by me until the ambulance arrived I'm feeling much better

Way better than expected! Went for my son's 16th birthday and was accommodated nicely. Reasonably priced and plenty of food! Stiner was our chef and kept us engaged throughout his show! I would recommend calling aheador make a reservation If going with +5 people.

An incredible experience. You are made to feel welcome, and watching these masters cook in front of you is an exciting experience for everyone. The food is as amazing as the atmosphere.

Food really good and the performance was great the chef was nice and pretty funny but the dishes are really dirty they need new dishes ASAP wasn't comfortable eat with their dishes but overall it's a cool place

For almost 2 years now, we have had to do carryout. Restaurant is now reopened inside and we can't wait to get back!

Tastes the same as before Covid thank god. They also do a great job to be gluten friendly if you bring your own gluten free soy sauce which for the wife she has an allergy this is great.

Fantastic food in a cozy atmosphere. The rice is amazing and better than any of the other hibachi places in the area. Portion sizes are huge.

I've been coming here for close to 30 years the menu selection has changed a little bit but so has the owner. That being said the food is just as amazing as it was 30 years ago. I would highly recommend you go check this place out and make sure you bring your appetite. It's not your typical hibachi grill.

The fried rice, steak & chicken here is ridiculously good. And so convenient that they’ve been doing pick up orders throughout all the pandemic stuff.would give more stars if I could

They decided it was a good idea to add Another tip to my tab after me giving a cash tip.
Once i noticed the next day It was said it was an accident. I drew lines through the tip area and lines on the side of my total…. Hence so nothing can be added… just something i do. I was told that it was suppose to have gone on someone else’s ticket. Now to correct they requested a reversal and ran it again. Now leaving my acct with double payment and a tip. UNTIL ITS CLEARED within 5/7 business days. This was a huge disappointment

Need to fully open and bring back MARS and the good chefs carry out isn't the same or sell it to someone who knows how to run a business

Meh. If you enjoy being covered in a film of grease while you eat and like eating a lot of soy sauce then this is place for that.

The service good. Does not really have the cleanest look about it. The people that go there seem to be very oblivious that there is other people around them. VERY loud. It's equal to going to a bar to eat. If you don't mind yelling or just sit & eat no talking its great. I think it's to small of a area is a lot of the issue.

This is our third or fourth time coming here. Steve is amazing and the food is always so freakin' good.

We love this place. Best rice around. My husband likes the scallops and steak. Everyone is always so nice.
