Stephanie is amazing. I am so thankful for her help over the years. She is honest with her clients, and I trust her more than anyone. Highly recommended!

I would like to disucss with Mr. Noble about the poor attitude and lack of comprehension and compassion regarding how Stephanie Fortus treated me and how she did not represent me well at all on my case I am making a formal complaint with the Missouri Legal Board as Stephanie has done very little in the six months of my case to help me and my family struggle to find ourselves after the massive domestic abuse that we received at the hands of my husband. At most, Stephanie was verbally abusive and dismissive towards me throughtout the process. No matter how much I tried to reach out, most of my questions went unaswered and my fears were not pacified. I was told to trust her. How am I supposed to trust someone who doesn't listen and would just tell me that my concerns were ridiculous?
I hired Stephanie due to all of the reviews that I read about her. After hiring her, I found her off putting, rude, having a lacking of empathy, having very little follow up, guidance, and a lack of cummunication skills. In fact, most of the communication came from me having to ask her questions repeatedly looking for answers that I have still not been given. I have a complicated domestic violence case and my husband took the children and my home and filed false charges against me. I than become homeless for six months after I paid her $7500 to represent me and protect me. She dropped the ball by getting the facts incorrect during my trial and I lost a order of protection that should have been a cut and dry case for me to win. When I would call her, she would be short, yell at me and not respond to my emails. I do not believe that Stephanie listened or heard me or ever even cared about the family's abuse my family has suffered at the hands of my husband. During court, my health issues and my maritial waiver were not allowed to be part of the case, even though they are a pertitinet factor in this case. Her emails to my husband's attorrney had incorrect facts, GAL's facts were incorrect as well. When I would ask her to have the facts corrected, she yelled numerous times on numerous occasions and hung up on me. She seemed more concerned about being right than about my situation, my kids or myself. I have been abused for 23 years and have had to hire quite a few different attornys. I thought she would be differnt and would actually care. When I called her back today to talk about how to find my son, she told me I was fired. This was at 3p on a Friday. I now do not know where my son or my ex-husband live and have had to hire another atttorney at the last moment, and pay $5,0000 so that I may now start the process over again. I do not know when I will see my son again. I do not believe that Stephanie Fortus has the compassion, awareness, or the education to rightly defend domestic abused victims.
I do not recommend her at all.
In six months, I have had been physically removed from my home, than had 3 judges, 8 extensions, no vistiation granted with my son, and all of this is due to the advice that Stephanie gave me.
I want my $7500 and an apology please. Thank you.

Needing someone special to fight my story in the divorce I found Mrs. Stephanie Fortus here. She sits in a humble, bold and distinctly decorated corner office. The character in that room is very much hers. Balanced, well heeled, draped down in a command of jurisprudence and hard knocked experience. She is the great defender of legal right and moral action, a Shakespearean lion of the court room. In my case she was also the strong stiff Oak amongst an escarpment of soft and bendy wind blown pine. Well Done Mrs. Howlett-Fortus, Travis the Noble and Sindel the Slayer, your office smells of the good fight and your TV's cast the station of the Great Maddow ~ WELL DONE!
