Skaggs Enterprises reviews
4We found what we wanted and more bought tomato plants and flowers, etc. Very pleased
A wonderful selection of healthy plants. The people are very helpful. I go there first every year.
Quick and courteous service to apply gravel to my driveway. Thank you.
Their business name suggests that they’re in the nursery and landscaping business. They have overstated what they do. They are not in the landscaping business. I visited their location in early spring and spoke to someone who appeared to be in charge. I explained to her that I needed some landscaping help around my house. Both her body language and facial expression clearly indicated that she was not interested. To her credit, though, she asked me for my name, address, and phone number, and told me that someone would be out to see my home the following week. A week went by and I heard nothing. I called and left a message that I still wanted an estimate and, again, gave my contact information. Yet another week went by without hearing a word. I had moved to Clinton from Georgia only a few months before visiting Skaggs and thought maybe they were busy with spring business. So, I waited until mid-August regarding landscaping work I had planed for September or October. Once again, I left my contact information. And once again, I didn’t hear a peep. I haven’t a clue why they don’t follow-up, but it’s not a good business practice. Anyone can clearly see when they visit their location that they’ve put in the necessary financial resources and hard work needed for a viable business (and that's not easy to do), only to ignore customers like me who want to spend money there. It doesn’t make sense to me. They should be more up front. If they no longer do landscaping, they should have told me. I would have understood; businesses evolve over time. Instead, they left me dangling in the wind. They left me waiting for a call or a visit that never came (not once, but repeatedly). If you’re in search for top-quality plant goods, they’ve got you covered. I have and will continue to buy from their nursery. But if you need landscaping, keep looking. They’re not up to it.
