Sophia's, Columbia MO

We were very excited to try what seemed like would be the best restaurant of our work trip but were very disappointed. The shrimp & brie toast app was great. The steak was overcooked which they did take back and bring another and also discounted the ticket for. The bacon wrapped scallops were not great and were also overcooked. The meatballs were ok but nothing spectacular. Just standard meatballs with cheese, sauce and seasoning. The desserts were decent although the signature dessert didn't seem to be as described. Just overall not the experience that was hoped for unfortunately. Service was alright.

Pizzas were too doughy and undercooked. Chicken Modega underseasoned and incredibly difficult to eat. Whole chicken breast on top bowl of pasta. I had to ask for a separate plate to slice it so I wouldn't "slice up" my pasta. Better to be served separately. Great cocktails and desserts. Overall wonderful place.

Arrived at 5 and were the first customers to be seated at a table for 6. Waited a long time before waitress acknowledged us. Three of us ordered a salad and when it arrived it was greens and two strips of red pepper. When I asked the waitress isn’t this salad supposed to be more then greens, she responded like what? And proceeded to get the menu. Yes it was supposed to have pine nuts, feta cheese, and cranberries. The chef sent out a bowl of feta and pine nuts with cranberries. Someone overlooked that detail when sent out to serve. My friend had a delicious chicken salad wrap with homemade chips that were like rubber. Chef sent out a fresh plate of hot crisp chips. The chef did correct the problems but felt like it was not up to Sophia’s customer service and should have comped the salads. Also noted all the other tables were served bread which we did not receive. A disappointing visit for a night out but the company was excellent.

The waiter Landon wasn’t happy with the tip I left and followed me outside the restaurant and handed it back to me telling me it wasn’t enough. Have never been treated this way at any restaurant in my life.

Had the 3 Mushroom penne pasta and Cesar side salad. Absolutely delicious.

Really REALLY good food! Had the crab/salmon meal and wife had med chicken pasts.also great! Spinach dip is top notch.service was great! Will eat this again!

Been here a few times and it's been really good each time. Portions are a little smaller than my liking but that's just me.
Had a drink there called the Halle Berry that was recommended by our waitress and was splendid!

What we ordered:
-house crab cakes (must have)
-salmon dish with a horseradish and honey crust (sweeter than expected but still yummy) with creamy asparagus (you can tell the cream sauce was homemade)
-pizza Margherita with a balsamic reduction (hubby was happy)

The atmosphere:
-very interesting (almost weird) artwork that was successful as a conversation piece
-fresh bread at the table with olive oil and cracked pepper (yes please!)
-calm relaxed vibe with simple elegance and charm
-patio area available but it was way to hot that day for us

Definitely our go to Italian restaurant close to home. Thanks Sophia's!

Great dinner, menu has plenty of options, atmosphere was nice and family friendly, staff was super generous. Even people who didn’t serve us smiled and engaged with kindness.

Miss Kaden took such good care of us and our family! We all had a complete blast and ate the best food we have had in a very long time! I have been all around the world and this place genuinely impressed me on so many levels!

Food wasn’t the best. I don’t recommend the chicken sandwhich.loved the idea but very heavy on the spicy sauce. It was very heavy.

Didn’t think the food was good enough to be spending from $15-$30 dollars on one dish.

Terrific staff! Max was so polite and helpful, he really is excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly as ordered. The scallops were tender and juicy. They tasted very fresh and were wrapped in crispy bacon. The chips were sprinkled with tasty cheeses and herbs, however they were a little soft and soaking in oil at the bottom of the bowl. A piece of butcher paper in the bottom would fix this. The Gruyère mushroom dip tasting amazing. It was carby and cheesy and salty. This definitely hits all of the comfort food marks. It was a bit awkward and messy, but if you don’t mind, I don’t mind! I had the seafood ravioli and it was like cream of the ocean. I made audible noises of joy while eating this. The pasta was toothsome and the balance of flavors was everything. I want to try the meat ravioli next time. Ally had a ribeye Medium, excellent, with 4 spears of grilled asparagus but no lemon, and a pile of deliciously seasoned potato wedges. The compound butter tied it all together. We were way too full for dessert. I’ll order crème brûlée as an appetizer next time.:) we both had mocktails and they were delicious. I found them overly sweet for my taste.

First time there; everything we ordered was delicious! I had the Italian sausage pizza and it was better than it was awesome!

It was good but nothing spectacular. The prices were decent. I'd just stick to apps and pizza there.

I had dinner in Sophia’s with a colleague while visiting for work. We were recommended to eat in this place by a few people. And it did not disappoint. We sat on the bar and the bartender that served us was very friendly and great. We also enjoyed the artworks on the walls.

We ordered Filet Porto for appetizer and it was absolutely amazing. I had the Mediterranean Chicken Pasta and it was tasty. Overall, we had an amazing time.

Sophia’s is always great! Awesome porch dinning weather! Love the variety on the menu. Great nachos. The calamari is also a good appetizer. Full bar with local options. I had the Spicy Buttermilk Yardbird Sandwich for lunch today. It was great. Also had the crème brûlée. Wonderful time.

A great restaurant with several options for Italian food, but not only. Well served, great service. It was a little hot there, but the weather here in Columbia is a little crazy, so that's okay.

Sophia's time after time never fails in any area. The service has always been stellar. The food is served perfectly and is delicious!
Sophia's has always been my favorite and will stay on my top list in COMO!
