Sorenson Kennels reviews
20I had a great experience with Sorenson Kennels. I took my German Shepherd and Aussie here based on the recommendation of Brett Kibler, who had trained them in the past. Great facility and fair prices. Very friendly staff and they were accommodating when I had to unexpectedly extend my dogs stay for an extra day due to my flight home being cancelled. They have training on site as well, so the dogs got a refresher with Brett while they were there. Plus they got baths before I picked them up so they came home smelling great!
I could not recommend Sorenson Kennels enough! Lucy just completed her training there with Brett and the results are incredible. She has incredible manners and lost all of the bad habits. She is very cautious and respectful around our baby, strangers and other dogs. Brett is awesome. He gives you his personal number and is accessible anytime day/night if you have questions or just need a pic of your puppy while they are gone. He shoots you straight and does what is best for the dog. Sorenson's facility is top notch, clean and welcoming, as well as the staff. A+!
My wife and I took our 4-year-old lab mix, Louis, to Sorenson Kennels for a four week training program after he had continued to show anxious and sometimes unpredictable behavior toward strangers. We had almost come to our breaking point with our dog, and we asked friends for recommendations on where to seek training help. Multiple friends recommended Sorenson. And with good reason. At Sorenson, Louis worked with Eric on a number of commands, and while he "knew" many of these commands previously, Louis's recall improved drastically, even when he was feeling anxious and stressed. Eric was professional, encouraging, and very knowledgeable. Not only did Louis learn a lot from Eric, my wife and I did, as well. We now feel much better equipped to take care Louis, and we feel so much more confident about Louis's future. If you have a dog with behavioral issues, and not you're not sure where to turn, Sorenson Kennels is a great place to turn for both you and your dog.
I was referred to Brett and I'm so glad I was! His training works! He also met with me after to make sure my dog knew the commands coming from me. Thanks Brett!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. THEY ARE ABUSIVE AND NEGLIGENT. YOUR ANIMAL WILL COME HOME SICK. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL PLACE HOPE THEY GET SHUT DOWN ASAP
We could not be more happy with our puppy, Winston, after receiving training with Brett at Sorenson Kennels! Brett went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable with the commands/training before bringing him home. And also explained that he’s only a phone call away if any questions come up after we bring him home. Was a huge plus to receive video updates on Winston’s training progress during his stay at Sorenson’s. Can’t say enough great things about Brett and his work with our little guy and Sorenson Kennel! Thank you sooo much!
We recently put our 8 month old puppy under Brett's care for on leash and off leash training. To say I was totally amazed would be an understatement. Our dog has a great deal of energy and had zero training when we dropped him off. Brett was amazing. He kept it simple to just a few commands and explained how to carry the obedience back home. I would highly recommend training here if you are searching for amazing results. Thanks Brett!
My dog has stayed there twice and everytime he came back he had kennel cough! This is a kennel cough infested place! Do NOT bring your dog here unless you want him to come home with kennel cough! I will never go back!
Our experience with training at Sorenson was top notch! The program was straightforward, explained in good detail and communication was strong throughout the 4 week training program. If you're struggling with puppy behavior issues and want to transform your dog, look no further.
Our dog went to the 4 week boarding and training program. Zac was great with Fergus and they really developed a good relationship. Fergus has much better manners and is doing well as we continue with the training at home. I highly recommend Sorenson Kennels!
Our 10 month old mini labradoodle Joey spent 2 weeks training with Zac at Soreson's puppy boarding & training program. I've worked with 4 other dog trainers with Joey and my older dog, and there is no doubt Zac was the best. From the start, his demeanor conveys calm, kind, competence which is really reassuring when you are dropping off your beloved pup! He kept us updated with pictures and a video during the two weeks. He goes through the training and commands in detail (some "human training") at pickup. My favorite thing about observing Zac with Joey is his ability to get the best out of Joey while still allowing him to be a puppy and a pretty goofy dog. The difference in Joey was obvious the second we brought him home. He's so much better with our older dog, and the difference in leash walking alone would be worth the price of 2 weeks. Walking Joey on a leash is a true joy now! I feel really empowered to continue Joey's training and I understand how worth the effort and time is. Thank you Zac and thank you Sorenson's! You gave us the tools and training Joey and I both need and we are so grateful.
We sent our dog to Sorenson Kennels for help with loose leash walking and dog reactivity. When we adopted Gracie she was five years old and we found that she was extremely dog reactive which made walks in the neighborhood very challenging. We contacted Eric who recommended we work with Zac. They warned us it may take a while to overcome 5 years of unknown behavior. After working with Zac for 3 weeks, Gracie walks well on a leash and is now able to pass dogs during walks without reacting. The change in her behavior is remarkable and our walks are much more enjoyable.
Zac was very patient and professional throughout the training. He really bonded with Gracie and helped us learn how to reinforce and continue her training at home. Zac was very understanding and flexible in working with us. He has great communication skills, kept us informed of her progress and always made time to answer any questions we had. We highly recommend Sorenson Kennels, especially Zac, for training. Thanks Zac!
We are so happy to have some control with our puppy Taft now. Sorenson Kennels and our trainer Jessica provided the training that was needed so we could just follow up and keep him on track once we got home. Our trainer responded to any question we had and even sent pics of our puppy. Having a puppy can be stressful especially when you have kids and other dogs in the home. We finally feel like we have some order in our home and we enjoy our puppy that much more now. Thank You!
My pup, at the time 15 months old, standard poodle went to the Sorenson Kennels healthy. While there he had contracted kennel cough, even with being vaccinated. They did bring in a vet to check him over and started the antibiotics. He was there for two weeks for training with Alyssa. I knew going in they had had a few cases of kennel cough as they warned me of it along with our vet. He is still getting over it being home now a little over 2 weeks and is on his second round of antibiotics. I am not sure on their quarantine or cleaning procedures for when there is an outbreak, but I do believe it could have been stopped or slowed.
Now with the training he received he is a different dog who actually listens to commands now. He knows the commands well and we are doing the off leash training here at home from the direction Alyssa started.as he is still contagious with Kennel cough I probably wont be returning any time soon and would hate to expose any other dogs to it.
Inrolled my dog for 2 weeks of training which during this time they reccomended 3 weeks. I only had 2 main concerns, one was jumping onpeople and the other was not running awsy from me. I brought him home and he went back to these old habits. What a waste of my money. They basically sold me a shock collar and it was up to me to train him. Another thing that upset me was they were very nice people but after i paid my money and called back a few days later for advice they were very short with me.
Our trainer Trey was outstanding. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Our dog Cali came out of his two week session much better behaved and happy.
Zach did an amazing job training Lexi! She learned everything we were told she would and it was obvious that she loved Zach! Highly recommend Zach!
Shout out to Our trainer Eric for his amazing training experience in the obedience program at Sorenson Kennels! I’ve seen a lot of puppies around so if you’re like me and you need some help getting your pup trained I highly recommend their bootcamp program.
What we loved:
*we didn’t know if we wanted to commit to the 4 full weeks so they let us come evaluate Clover’s progress at 2 weeks which helped us make the decision for her to stay a little longer
*her trainer was regularly available for questions and sent pictures and videos of progress often
*when we visited and picked up Clover was happy and attentive. We could see her trainer loved her as much as we do!
*the investment of time and cost has my entire family now engaged in keeping her training consistent at home - before it was just me
*they took a puppy who counter surfed, jumped all over people and generally just acted like a misbehaved toddler and gave her the tools to know what was good and not good behavior while training Clover’s humans what to do and not do when she needs correcting
The 4 full weeks was definitely worth it!
Winston, our six-month-old Labradoodle, spent three full weeks at Sorenson for the puppy training program and loved it! Zac did an amazing job working with Winston and took the time to fully explain and demonstrate all the new commands to our family so we could continue to work with Winston at home. I highly recommend Sorenson for boarding and training!
Our 10 month Wheaten Terrier attended the 2 week program. He learned the basics - Sit, Down, Heel and we got a great lesson on how to continue the training at home.
