Diner Spencer's Grill reviews
17We always enjoy going to Spencer's. It's good, solid diner fare. We moved away from the area but couldn't wait to stop there on our latest visit to STL. I'd highly recommend stopping for a bite. You'll enjoy it
An old-school diner experience in Kirkwood! Fast, friendly service and extremely affordable! The most delicious pancakes
This place is by far one of my two favorite places to eat breakfast at in the “downtown” Kirkwood/Sun Set Hills area. Great please for lunch as well.it’s a nice old school feel to it with modern kitchen wear. One of their Chefs is 10/10 (he works there more often) other one is about a (6/10). Also, really love their servers. They are always there asking you if you need something before you even need it. Go here every SUNDAY MORNING with my uncle to look at the POINT SPREADS/OVER-UNDERS & to set up our fantasy line ups. We’ve been doing it since I was 14 and he was 40. I’m 28 not and he’s well do the math haha
Wonderful old school diner. Usually have breakfast there. The chicken fried steak or the biscuits and gravy are excellent.
Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service, fantastic food! An all around friendly fun family place!
It was pretty good, and I got a breakfast sandwich with hashbrowns. The breakfast sandwich was pretty on point, hot, and so were the hashbrowns. The food was also pretty cheap, so thats cool.
Great neighborhood diner. Hard to decide which is best, the food or the service. Both bring me back often.
First time trying this nugget in Kirkwood. Sat at the counter to be apart of the diner vibe. I ordered the #2 which was 2 eggs, meat and toast. I got my eggs scrambled with bacon and I upgraded the toast to a pancake. Everything was delicious. Eggs cooked perfectly. The pancake was hot and fluffy and the bacon was delicious. I sat by the grill area which was fun. I picked up a trick to try when I make pancakes at home. I enjoyed talking with the cooks and others at the counter. Cute and comfortable diner that serves a great breakfast. I’ll be back, for sure!
Cozy little corner diner in the heart of Kirkwood. Great food, excellent service, friendly patrons. The perfect diner experience.
I'm a diner person. This place is as good as it gets. Local. Great food. Bold coffee. Great service. Owner checked on me. Prices good, too.
Tried this little gem for the first time was probably the best breakfast I've ever had! Everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be going back here. My friend and I ordered 1 pancake to split because we just wanted to taste them. Seriously the best pancake I've ever tasted in my life. My omelet was cooked perfectly and the ingredients tasted so fresh. The hashbrowns were crispy but not overcooked and dry. Even the toast was perfect. Just enough butter so it wasn't soggy but not too little so you couldn't tast it. They were consistently busy the entire time but food came out quickly, the place was packed the whole time but we only waited 10 minutes for our table. Definitely giving them 10 out 10.
There aren't many places like Spencer's Grill left. A 50's "diner" experience with a dash of southern charm and hospitality.
Excellent historic (since 1947!) slice of Americana, right in beautiful downtown Kirkwood. Go back in time and have a good old fashioned breakfast, whether a Slinger/Slammer, bacon & eggs, biscuits & gravy, or their legendary crispy-edge homemade pancakes. Coffee is strong, fresh and plentiful. The service is always friendly and attentive, like visiting grandma's house. You'll feel welcome and appreciated. 5 stars+
This diner is excellent! Everything was cooked to perfection. Nothing fancy, but a delicious home cooked breakfast.
Small corner joint packed with regulars, with friendly staff serving good food at reasonable prices.
Everything you expect from a local diner.
Solid diner breakfast, great Kaldi coffee, and terrific service. If it was closer I'd be a regular!
Great breakfast food topped off by scrapple, a favorite in Philadelphia. Very cosmopolitan!
