Spruce St Matthew Baptist Church, Kansas City MO

As an Iraq veteran, I served my country and I pray you are serving yours. I had a friend of mine attended a service at this church and was disappointed to hear the pastor make derogatory comment “faggots” about the LGBTQIA+ community. Then continued to talk about how he is unsupportive. It's important for religious leaders to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of their congregation. I hope the church will take steps to educate themselves and promote acceptance and understanding in the future.

There’s no reason to excite the church peeps within about the love of Christ, all to wait for its peak to toss in you own agenda, I’m gonna pray for you.

The spirit of God is definitely in the building and on the people of Spruce St. Matthew. Pastor and First Lady are welcoming and lead by example.
