SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Jefferson City

Worst emergency room around. Went there first my girlfriend on a recommendation from another place for drug addiction and mental health. They stood around and talked and basically ignored us gor over an hour. Finally a doctor came in and was so uninterested on why we were there. Finally talked to some lady over telecom video and my girl was asking begging for help. Prescribed her more pulse and sent us home.

I am here to tell you all, Our Family has been getting top notch care with this Medical group in Belle, The Hospital and Er there in Jeff City.
We moved to this area 3 yrs ago This September. For 2yrs my Family and I have received care on many different levels Through SSM.
SSM your nursing staff are Great. Office staff as well.

Came on on Saturday and the young lady that checked me in was very rude and unprofessional I had to sit and wait for hours to be seen so I got tired of waiting and left

Good emergency room. Slight wait to get in, but got excellent care. Drove all the way up from Camdenton.

My daughter was there over the weekend she had a possible broken foot on a Saturday they said they would call in the morning with results. They didn't call I called Monday and the radiologist was snippy ad said they would've called if something was wrong but her foor was fine nothings wrong. Good thing we got a second opinion because they were completely wrong she had a broken bone spur. So if you go here and waste your money be prepared for a second opinion.

Wonderful care was given to my partner by ALL the nurses, doctors and tech. Being in there for 16 days alot of them act as family to make sure your comfortable and safe

So beware of the ER here and the lady I called back to to get a hold of the doctor said " the drs gone but someone else looked over it and they said you can come back and get evaluated" so I guess I sit here in pain or try to go to the streets. Thank you Chase Ungs, Do.and Renee the receptionist, I hope y'all feel good today tonight because I guess I'm screwed.

I arrived at St. Marys on 6/7/23 around midnight i took my 4 year old and 2 year old boys to the hospital. Person checking people in was A man very rude couldn't talk like he was mute didn't respond. Once we made it to the room the Dr was amazing. My older son had to use the bathroom so I walked him to the bathroom in the er department. When my son was finish he came out the bathroom I was carrying my 2 year old trying to make it back to the room and nurse came down the hall pushing another patient and wouldn't move out of the way or when I asked which way she was going she just looked at me like I was crazy the patient told me sorry due to her behavior. I used to love st.marys now I won't go back I have 4 boys I highly recommend Capital region

Went in for suicidal thoughts they said hospitals aren't for people with borderline personality disorder then they hassled me about call my medical ride this hospital might just be worse than capital region use to be better but not anymore they are the worst of the worst

I went here a while back ago for bad constipation that had lasted over a week and I was in so much pain. I told the nurses I’ve been taking miralax and it made it worse. She just told me to take miralax and go home… canceled my urine test. Go home and it’s worse so I go to capital reigon instead… found out I was pregnant. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had tbh. You shouldn’t be canceling a urine test anyway. When I asked why it was canceled I was told there was no need because I am just constipated. I knew something was off and told them.

Everyone from the ER nurses to discharge were very concerned and compassionate. I made their work difficult and they had to clean up a lot of messes. Never a grumble or reluctant care. Everyone was top notch!

I was in the hospital for 3 days. The nurses were wonderful, I recommended 3 of them for nominations for accolades but I could have nominated any of them. Housekeeping, ER, cafeteria, excellent. I won't hold it against them that one of the three Hospitalist was awful but it shouldn't come to this rating. So impressed!

Spotlessly clean, St. Mary's is a modern and beautiful building with a dedicated and professional staff. The attention to detail in the building is exceeded only by the attention to detail of the staff. From the chapel to the operating rooms, the hospital projects the
excellence of the people who work there.

I personally had a great experience when I was admitted into behavior health, but my friend was recently admitted and they said because I used to be a patient and was there in the last 6 months I’m not allowed to visit her at all. Especially when she needs me the most. They’ve let me visit her twice and last night they told her I wasn’t allowed to visit and I know a nurse that I had told her that, and not a doctor or the head nurse. Since when did regular nurses create all the rules instead of doctors and managers.

BUYER BEWARE! This hospital will steal your money!

I want to start this off but saying I went to St. Mary’s for some testing and all of the staff I met were incredibly nice. The kind and accommodating nurses and techs are the only reason this is getting a two star instead of one.

Now let’s get on with the problem.

When I checked in they told me my insurance didn’t cover my tests and I would receive a discount if I paid for all of my tests upfront. So, naively, I payed the over $3,200. Later on I was checking my insurance statements and it said that they did, in fact, cover my tests and that I only should have had a copay of around $400. I was furious. I called St. Mary’s and asked them what was going on and I was told that they accidentally charged both me and my insurance the full price of the tests. The woman on the phone was very casual and said “this happens all the time. ” I am supposed to be receiving a refund for nearly 3k, but it’s been over a week and nothing yet. I called back and they said they would “mark my case a priority. ” It just makes me think how many people they do this too, and that’s only the people who caught it. I’m sure there are hundreds of people this hospital has stolen from and they never knew.

I am disgusted, but I can’t say I’m surprised. This is the state of healthcare in America and it is more sickening than anything you would go to the hospital for. I was lied to and robbed from while I was sick. I hope someday the people running these systems learn a thing or two about empathy, I hope sometime in my life I will see healthcare reform in America, but more than anything I hope I get my $3,000 back.

SSM Behavioral Health (outpatient) is great. My daughter loves it. I just wish there was some type of soft music playing in the waiting room. It's extremely quiet.

I can't explain how great SSM is. SSM provides spotless, upstanding rooms, and my nurse responds so fast. I felt like I was treated like I was their own. At SSM health, I've met so many new friends. I will definitely be coming back in the future if I have to go to the hospital, but hopefully, I won't.
