St. Charles Community College reviews
12The “professors” here are racist. I had a professor who worked in computer ethics (who has no knowledge of computers) teach our class on his political views. He showed favoritism towards the white students and bullied/embarrassed the students who were people of color. He even marked off points on one of my classmates’ project because this professor does not believe in global warming and the student made a project about global warming. This professor did not teach computer ethic at all, but scold the students about his political beliefs being superior. He would yell at students who did not agree with his beliefs and dismiss them. I have emailed the school about this issue and other students have complained about this particular person, but no actions have been made. I do not recommend this school.
Did have a very bad experience while taking ESL classes here. One of the ESL teachers which stands out for English as A Second Language was very jealous or not treating me the right way like everyone else. She definitely made me leave the school for good due to her rude behavior.
Not receiving my money back after returning my books one day late because THE ROADS WERE CLOSED DUE TO A SNOW STORM. This place seriously needs to stop hiring miserable people who hate themselves and everyone around them.
Great location! We hold our monthly Chamber Board meetings at the college and they are always so accommodating. The campus and facilities are well maintained and always feel safe. St Charles Community College is a great community partner.
I graduated in 2019 before continuing on to Lindenwood. Nearly every professor I had was among my favorites and transferring credits was very easy. I wish I had gotten involved with the music program since I've been to a few of their shows and had a great time, free community shows are always an awesome opportunity.
At the beginning of the year I received a pell grant that totaled my tuition for the entire year and then some. I was then advised that even though I had the money to pay for all of my classes and receive extra afterwards that they would not pay for two of my classes because they are not on my plan for my degree.
I am going to a new school in the fall because scc is constantly changing requirements for their degrees and I have 3 classes that I have taken that do not count for anything. So I need those two classes to transfer but they keep emailing me to drop them before it “hinders my financial status”. They don’t pair you with an academic advisor and don’t really help you with choosing classes or advising you of anything beyond your first semester there. I also had a code that I needed for a book for my math class that totaled $60 dollars. I reached out to the financial aid department about this and they said that since the book was through a 3rd party that financial aid would not cover it.
All in all this is not a helpful campus. They advertise that they’re a 2 year school but if I stay here it will take at least 3.5 to just get an associates degree.
They don’t help with financial aid answers and don’t provide the necessary tools to have a healthy education.
All in all I’d rather spend the extra 10 grand and go to a school that is helpful and understands students.
They do not give a financial aid easily. The financial aid is not understand a needy student. I beg the financial aid of that school they takes to many times but they do not allow me. They want a money for student. And they do not want to aid a needy students. In somehow I borrow a money from my brother and I learned.while I learn in that college the teacher do not teach to make understand the student the teacher do not polite for student and he gives a quiz unintendedly and his quiz is so hard.so they trys to drop off students.
Seems like a nice place. Just give yourself time as there's construction happening around the campus
My daughter and several others I know of have attending SCCC and were not disappointed in the education they received. Not to mention the money they saved when navigating the college choices. Smart to start here.
IN addition to all the extra classes they have available to everyone that would like to advance their learning at any level.
I Have had to drop my classes so many times because there was always a problem getting started with them I was told to drop them because it would be best to start in the spring and I can't even do that, I haven't even started college yet because I can barely talk to anyone there. I literally can NEVER get anyone that can help me fully on the phone.
I've never had a problem at SCC until Covid 19 its impossible to talk to anyone, and recieve any help. Ridiculous you don't even know when you're going to get a call from an advisor. I guess you're supposed to just sit and wait all day.
You should move the baskets once on awhile
Same location all the time gets old and boring
