St. Francis de Sales Oratory reviews
18Great Community. The liturgy is always focused on God and how to do it to the fullest. They don’t do something unless they can do it the finest. Has a quality music program trained by a professional music director that allows visiting musicians on special occasions. One of the best TLM communities in St. Louis.
Stunning church lovely to visit, not the best neighborhood so don't go alone. Definitely worth seeing
This breathtaking church brings me to tears every time I see it. Even seeing the steeple from afar makes me anticipate seeing the inside. Visit this church! Always open to the public during the day. I love this place and highly recommend you visit
Among the most beautiful churches I've ever seen, and such a beautiful place of worship with the Tridentine Liturgy, the Traditional Latin Mass! Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.
It is a beautiful church. The priest and nuns were all very welcoming. We had the opportunity to hear a organ concert and it was very good. It was a special outing for our family to see where our father had been baptized 87 years ago. If you like architecture I would highly recommend a visit
The church itself is magnificent, as is the solemn Latin mass. As a non-catholic, I've been several times with my in-laws. It can be an emotional experience. My only warning is to be prepared for the sounds of multiple crying infants the entire ceremony during morning Sunday mass. The acoustics of the building are such that the sound carries from every room. If you haven't experienced the Latin mass before, I recommend one of the less attended services to best appreciate it.
Best to visit during a holy day or solemn feast day. Staffed by the ICKSP and one of the most beautiful churches west of the Mississippi.
This church has been beautifully and painstakingly restored to its 110 + year old glory. I feel like I step back in time when I enter. Mass is celebrated in the extraordinary form (Latin). People who attend are from all walks of life and are very friendly and helpful if you're not sure what to expect or how to follow along.
I absolutely love going to the Solemn High Mass here. The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priests truly live to serve their community and I always feel welcomed here.
This church is so gorgeous! I came here for the first time during the Holy Thursday night prayers and it was so amazing with the monks chanting in Latin and the dimmed gothic style church. I couldn’t help but cry with how beautiful it was.
What a gem! There is no mistaking what a high altar is in this church. I attended a funeral mass in the Traditional Form. Very sacred. The church enhanced the sacredness.
I wept the first time I worshiped in this holy space. There is nothing more beautiful than the mass, and I've not seen a more beautiful celebration it than here.
This is perhaps the holiest place in Saint Louis to me and since I have begun attending here over the last 2 years my relationship with God and His church have improved dramatically.
The only place in St Louis that holds a true Latin Mass. There is so much reverence in the service.
The year I was born is when they went to the new Mass after it having been in Latin for a millennia. I always wanted to go to a Latin Mass, so I went to St Francis de sales oratory. The beauty inside was breathtaking, and as a lifelong Catholic I felt like I was home. It was so refreshing to look around and know that everybody there believed what you believe and you felt that you truly worshiped the One true God when you left there. What a wonderful treasure to have in our community.
The beauty of the architecture is matched by the beauty of both the liturgy, the people who attend and the Priests who shepherd them. They care only for the Salvation of Souls, love and reverence for God.
Absolutely beautiful! Looks like a church you’d find in Europe. Great choir and impressive organ. Reverent Latin mass. I’d recommended to all! Definitely my favorite church in stl.
