I've been with St. John's Bank & Trust for many years and I have to chuckle at the reviews when people say St. John's is too old school or old fashioned, etc, because that's exactly why I chose to bank with them and continue to bank with them. I prefer the days when you talked to the same person each time you called. I wonder how old the people are who think St. John's is too old school and if they've ever lived in a time when ATM's didn't exist and if you wanted money you went inside the back. Getting a drive through was an advancement. Perhaps people wouldn't need so much money so fast if they didn't live above their means and actually saved money. St. John's has a saying that it's not about their (bank) "branches" but about their "roots" (where they come from and how they do business which is with integrity), and so if you want a bank that just looks at you as a number and someone they can make money off of, then yeah, St. John's probably isn't for you because they actually care. It's about quality not quantity with them. Keep up the great work St. John's because I don't mind calling in to ask to have my limit raised to make a big purchase. I'd rather that than have someone steal my debit card, spend a high dollar amount with no safeguard, and lose out.

Banking is Fine, but hands down the rudest customer service. Every time I've had a question, they make me feel like I'm bothering them. Today was last straw, I'll be switching banks. Which seems like it's going to be a headache. Still better than how I was spoken to today.

Extremely old-school methods of banking. Cannot spend more than $500 per day without calling to raise the daily limit. They close at 5pm and are not available on weekends. My wife has been stranded multiple times because you cannot use your card out of town even in Illinois without calling in advance. I just opened a new account with a different bank and tried to transfer money and I could not. You must call in and ask permission to use your own money. Absolutely sick of it. Get a real bank account.

I had a really BAD interaction with a banking rep on 11/02/2021, My mom has an account with St. John's for over 30 years. She's been with these guys since they where on Natural Bridge in the 80's. Now to the story, we where at the bank to make a withdrawal from her savings account (which holds some of my funds as well) I'm her son from out of town (TX). There was a mistake made on her banking statement that she didn't understand.
When we told the banking representative about the mistake she made it clear that it wasn't a fault of St. Johns Bank, which wasn't true. She was VERY aggressive with her tone and demeaner which was uncaused for. When the voices of BOTH parties got a little elevated she made a statement saying I have my securities watching you, which I felt was very races and uncalled for! This in my opinion, of which I am entitled to, is & was a prime example of the Karen's of today. When she was at fault.

The customer service at st johns bank is great, unfortunately their methods are just too old fashioned for us and we'll be closing our account.if you go out of town you have to call them in advance, which i didnt know, so i got stranded out of town unable to pay for my hotel room because it was past 5pm.i could live with calling before vacation but the problem is that there is NO 24 hour phone number, its absurd for a bank in this day and age.you can only report a lost or stolen card after hours, everything else has to wait.if a bill goes through and you hit your $500/day spending limit your card will be cut off and there's no way to fix it past 5pm.today our debit card locked and i have no idea why, we did not hit our spending limit.we had to buy medication and since it was 630pm we ended up having to borrow money from a friend even though we have more than enough to pay for it in our account.there will be no help available until tomorrow.good people, but its too frustrating.we would stay if 24/7 customer service was added.

Had to make a appointment to open a account the soonest was several days away. I took off work to accommodate the bank -saying they only can have 1 person in the bank at a time and only have 1 banker. I made a appointment for 9am I get there and call and the rude condescending lady tells me it was wrote down for the following day. I tell her Ive taken off work and already and I can not come back and take off again just because they, wrote it incorrectly. She tells nothing can be done. I asked to wait and she tells me it could be several hours. Anyway don’t waste your time with a appointment with employees at a bank who don’t want to be bothered by pesky account holders

Mr. Wyatt and the Commercial Team are second to none. I recently became a Customer and my only regret is I did not do it sooner

Just had a great experience opening a new checking account.
My Personal Banker, Nicole, was kind and patient. She did an excellent job of informing me how to use the banking tools, and navigate the system.
Nicole exemplifies great Customer Service!
I look forward to to future interaction.

This is the slowest bank I have ever dealt with in my life. The majority of the staff have attitudes! They have no desire to assist people in a fast or friendly manor. To do a simple cash deposit in drive thru takes at lease 10 minutes once you get to the window. Thank god I only have to deal with them for my job. No way I would recommend these people!

Great staff but they always say one thing and do another I’m honestly tired of it so I’ll be closing my account and going to Bank of America aka their neighbors!
