Fiance stayed their the night before our wedding. On our wedding morning she called the front desk to ask if they could clean the room and they told her they needed 24 hours notice and the hurt on the phone was rude. They also knocked on the door at 9 the next morning to get us to checkout when checkout want until 11. Normally I wouldn't care but this was one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel and was for our wedding night.

I upgraded to: 1 KING HISTORIC EXECUTIVE. That comes with expectations, sorry to say, those were not met.

When upgrading to the executive room, this is the listed description: "Our beautifully appointed Executive Rooms offer daily private access to the third-floor Executive Lounge featuring complimentary Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, Tea, Assorted Soda's, Bottled Water, Whole Fresh Fruit, Assorted Dry Snacks, and Evening Cookies. "
*There was an empty fridge and a barren counter on the aforementioned 3rd FL lounge. We just wanted bottled water and there wasn't anywhere to obtain or buy it that I could locate.

*In the room, on the right side of the TV stand, the HDMI and AC outlet boxes were not attached to the stand, they just popped out of the wood instead of being attached with screws. This is worth mentioning as this is supposed to be an upgrade suite.

*The Keurig coffee maker was broken.

*The water pressure in the bathroom was non-existent.

This was not worth $355, by far.

I realize this item is unavoidable: The load in from the Union Station parking lot to our room pretty far with luggage in 90 degree heat. And we got lost looking for the room and had to call the front desk for directions.

Positives that need to be mentioned:
*Hotel staff we encountered with our troubles on the way in were very nice.
*Room was clean.
*Self-checking in the mobile app w/key was great.
*Regarding the location; Landry's Seafood House was amazing.

Beautiful building, great location, a bit pricey in my opinion. Room was nice and clean, only problems were that the shower is a slippery death trap and there weren't enough towels in the room. Parking is expensive and a bit of a hassle, having to walk all the way around the outside of the building if you don't have a hotel key (like during check in late at night, which we had to do).

Really interesting hotel in the old train station. You walk in to the grand hall and it knocks your socks off. Staff has been amazing.

Enjoyable stay with room for improvement!

We stayed for a little staycation for two nights on a weekend. A reoccurring issue that seemed to happen was unclear/not explained processes/amenities which started when we arrived. When you arrive there's multiple entrances and parking lot is on the side. I didn't want to park far away and then lug my luggage in so I parked at valet and asked them if I could leave my car there whilst I checked in. They allowed it, but it wasn't clear if this was normal process or what. No signage or clear indication.

When we checked in, the employee was very friendly and gave us some paperwork about the history of the building. And they let us check in early. However, no information about where the pool is, where fitness center is, restaurants, or how to get to the aquarium was provided. We just wandered around and figured it out. No info on housekeeping or checkout. No offer to help with luggage either in or out. No info was provided about the really cool light shows in the main hall that we just happened to stumble upon later. Overall, it just seemed very much like you check in and they say here ya go and you're totally cut loose. I'm one to figure things out pretty well but this is a very confusing building with lots of disconnected parts so guidance would be super helpful. Also, for the price I would expect a little more boutique/personalized experience.

We booked an executive courtyard room. Upon booking I selected the grand hall luxury room as optional add on if they have available for a bit more $. At check in, I mentioned this but it wasn't really acknowledged. So honestly I didn't know what room I got until I got in the room. We ended up getting the grand ball luxury room (and paid the additional $ for) which was beautiful! The hardwood floors, gorgeous bed, updated bathroom and the room is BiG. Decor is on point - historic but updated/polished. However - the layout is awkward. The TV is at an angle and far from the bed which was the biggest drawback. It was hard to watch and change channels from bed. Volume would never go down despite showing on TV it was decreasing. I didn't bother calling to inquire about that.

The executive lounge was a let down. I didn't realize for the weekend it is ONLY open for breakfast. During the week they have other times mid day and evening they're open. If I knew that, I would have selected a regular room with breakfast which I believe is at one of the on site restaurants (vs.the lounge) and I've heard is much better. The lounge breakfast was powdered eggs, soggy potatoes, and rubbery bacon. They did have a variety of choices at least. The second day I only ate a muffin.

For the cost for two nights - almost $800 including valet parking which we ended up selecting - I would expect a lot more.

That said - there are good things! While it's hard to navigate, the building is gorgeous! It's historic and they did a nice job keeping original touches but updating. The light show in the grand hall is so cool. There is a pool and it's good. The location can't be beat! It's in the same space as the aquarium and all the other union station amenities. We loved our time at union station exploring and had things to do everyday.

Overall I'm glad we stayed to have the experience and for convenience, but it's a one and done for me. Next time I'd choose a hotel that's cheaper and/or more attentive customer service. There are lots of choices in the area that are pretty close so that shouldn't be an issue.

Great location with lots to do within walking distance or a short ride. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the whole place was unique and charming. We loved the great hall with its historic details and light show, and with the whole hotel under the old train station’s superstructure just made it fun, especially with the clean pool, attractions (STL Wheel and Aquarium), and restaurants all in one place. I wish my hometown would do something with the old buildings besides tear them down for condos! Love what they did with the place, and the value for the ferris wheel is exceptional!

I love historic architecture, and Art Nouveau in particular, so I was enthralled the moment we drove up. While my husband and daughter enjoyed the pool, I explored the public spaces in & around the lobby. Shout-out to Gerald the security guard, who spoke to me while I was taking photographs in the lobby, and (after verifying that I was a guest) took me to the 1st & 2nd mezzanine levels so I could see the bronze statues & other details up close & explore more, and told me some interesting facts about the building & the restoration too.

Seeing the amazing Queen light/music show turn the lobby from amazing to magical was the icing on the cake!

I also enjoyed the historic facts/posters about the New York Central Railroad in our room. (which was in the modern addition. If I ever return I'll be sure we stay in the original building!) I'm a long-time fan of the musical "On The 20th Century" (relatively unknown unitl it was revived on Broadway a few years ago) which is set in the '30s & takes place entirely on the train, on the 16 hour ride from NYC to Chicago, so it was fun for me to learn more about the show's setting.

My husband chose this hotel for the proximity to the aquarium, as our daughter LOVES aquariums. That was a huge plus, and the proximity to restaurants and other activites there in the Union Terminal complex as well.

Also the beds & pillows were increadibly comfortable!

The only slight negatives were there was no ventilation control in the bathroom so got very humid & stuffy in there when showering. Also the elevators in the new wing were being glitchy. We were on the 4th floor, and the 'down' button was not working. You had to press up to go down, and hope the car was empty when it arrived.this was making for confusion among many guests while waiting for the elevators. I did tell Gerald while he was showing me around, and before we left someone had come to look at it, so hopefully it was repaired quickly.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who loves architecture, or has kids & wants lots of fun activities close at hand! I hope I get to return some day.

Room #1008 smelled on complete sewer. Barely cleaned the room. The coffee machine did not work, and it wasn’t user error, I know how to work a keurig. It’s not rocket science. Worst stay ever at a Hilton, have already submitted complaint and will not EVER be staying at a Hilton or a sister hotel again.

The hotel stay was very nice except for the fire alarm at 7: 00 am! But what made our stay most enjoyable was Tiffany in food services. She was always very pleasant and very attentive during the Postnet conference. Employees like Tiffany will keep guest coming back!

The hotel has a great location and having the aquarium on site was great. It’s easy to walk to the train to take 2 stops to Busch Stadium or 1 stop to Enterprise area. My only issue was in the rooms. Our fitted sheet did not fit on the king size bed, so only two corners fit so the sheet was half on the bed all night. Our toilet paper holder wouldn’t stay on. People we met in the elevator said their room smelled like sewage. The front desk staff were all very kind.

Ok hotel; have stayed here several times.

Super frustrated with past stay and will not be back. I booked a room rate that included breakfast and was refused breakfast. Even after I showed then manger on duty the confirmation email that clearly showed the rate plan W/BRKFST, she conveyed there was nothing she could do because it did not reflect in her computer. There was no one else that could help and there was no business card for the GM.

After contacting diamond desk, the ticket was closed by the property stating the issue was corrected in the computer and I was contacted. No one from the property ever reached out to me and even if they had, the stay was over. So a correction after the fact did not help. So, not logical.

Again, decent hotel, but lack luster customer support. It is ok though since there are many other options in the SL area.

This hotel was definitely not worth the money. Upon arrival, we had to stumble up the stairs at the entrance in the dark with our luggage. The lights in the main hall were turned off for a special event in the hall, and therefore, the stairway was in the dark. We were unable to see the light show due to the event in the main hall. The elevators looked like they had been used as freight elevators - all banged up and nicked. The security door opened with your room key - it also opened if you just pushed on it. Not very secure. Our bathroom was not up to the standard of the price charged - there was plaster around the drain in the tub, and the spigot was about half an inch out of the wall. There was no information in the room to explain what the amenities on the premises were or where. Dinner and breakfast were not remarkable to say the least.

Very nice place to visit. The aquarium looks great $25 per person. 2 restaurants that were full. Pretty pond full of Koi to feed.

Great hotel with something extra. The history behind it was really cool. Loved the lobby light shows. Rooms were clean.
Nice having extra activities to go to aquarium, fountain/fire show, ferris wheel, put putt golf, etc.

Always hosting events, so there is a lot of hustle and bustle. The layout is confusing at first but once you get the hang of it your ok!

We really enjoyed the Aquarium. It was done very well. But we are spoiled…we’ve been to a few all over the county. The STL aquarium is pretty small. We did love the entrance room and the train at the beginning. Those effects were terrific. Also they had areas for children’s activities which is nice for families.
