So happy we found this place. Staff are friendly and they have been so helpful. My husband and I were having a difficult time finding a place for my mother due to her needs as well as the Covid restrictions. We the idea of moving her to a nursing home. The team we worked with were so helpful in getting everything arrange quickly to accommodate her.

My Mom passed in Sept, 2018 at 90.5 years old. She was fairly self-sufficient approaching her 90th birthday. She didn't really rely upon the care team for the prior 1.5 years at Sunrise. But, the last 6 months of her life was a fast, scary slide of Alzheimers. Except for a few kind, compassionate (OVERWORKED) caregivers, who provided her CARE in a kind and respectful manner - they did their best given a heavy patient load, long shifts (sometimes 18 hours). My Mom came to be fully dependent for everything. Unfortunately, there are several caregivers, including the lead (Jaye) who are unprofessional and disrespectful towards the residents. For example, Jaye was removed from having any contact with my Mom after lying to me about bathing my Mother that morning, when I questioned her at 11am (I had evidence which proved she was not bathed; otherwise, Jaye was prepared to defend her lie - not an innocent mistake) We struggled as a family to make sure my Mother received BASIC care. It's painful to even write this review. When I say BASIC, we met with Jaime repeatedly regarding failure to CARE - do their job! We had repeated issues with failing to bathe my Mom (1X a week - included in mthly charge) ; failing to feed her, provide food on many occasions when she was too weak to leave her room, or bring her down to the dining room (when she was able) ; failing to sit her up properly and safely in her wheelchair; failing to respond in a timely manner to the EMERGENCY call button.etc. For example, my sister came to visit and found her alone at the dining table, slumped over in her wheelchair - her drink spilled all over her, yet she was reaching out trying to hold the cup up - seriously? As a family, we considered the care our Mom received was spotty.neglectful at times. We were stuck between a rock & hard place. As she declined, my sister felt compelled to visit daily at irregular times to try to protect her; our Mom was at the mercy of some UNPROFESSIONAL and DISRESPECTFUL staff members. The Regional Director and Director were regularly contacted about issues; we received the polite, professional acknowledgment, apology, and/or we will investigate comment. Nothing changed. Let me leave you with our final experience. Hospice informed us our Mom was going to pass within a day. My 2 sisters and I rushed to be by her side. Our Mom was to be given morphine every hour to ease the discomfort; and, WE (not the rude nurse on duty who said she would contact hospice) ended up contacting hospice to double her dose as she transitioned. Every hour, we would press the call button 30 minutes early to try to get the morphine administered on time; most of the time, we had to leave the room to hunt down the nurse or med tech. The med tech would always speak kindly to our Mom to tell her what she was doing.the nurse couldn't bother to give her that respect and would just stick the morphine syringe in her mouth. Around 10pm, I found the nurse and told her we would be staying in the room all night and asked her to administer the morphine hourly. She told me she would NOT be able to do that as she was the only nurse on duty; she would try to stop by when she was in the area; but, we would have to find her otherwise. So, that's what we did.thru the night, we pressed the button and hunted that nurse down. She did come in with a caregiver at 2: 30am and he found her at 3: 30am.our Mom passed about 15 minutes later. Shame on management for keeping the staff who clearly should not be working with the elderly or any patient for that matter. Bless those few kind and compassionate caregivers and maintenance, who were willing to work hard and CARE for the residents in a kind and respectful manner.my Mom really recognized those kind souls and cared in return. Don't let the looks and location fool you. What comes around goes around. UPDATE: See the corporate comment below? I reached out as requested; NO corporate follow up. HORRIBLE place!

My parents lived there for a short time on the memory floor - one parent with memory issues and one without, so we were able to know what was going on with their care. Lots of problems - medicine repeatedly not given at the proper time or at all, inconsistent help, several falls when the caregivers didn't come, poor communication and lack of a schedule. They failed miserably to deliver what Sunrise had promised - in my parents' own words.
