Tacos El Mercadito - Restaurant and Grocery reviews
10 1st visit. Weird vibe, not what I expected. I stepped into a different environment. Service was polite. Got the beef burrito to go and when I got home I was disappointed that my beef burrito was 90% rice, 1% cheese and 9% tough beef steak with no veggies. Ground beef would have changed the dish. The burrito was poor. Darnit.
With the price paid, lack of input to the ingredients, this meal and experience was a fail.
Go to Chipotle. Far better, less expenses and way more comfortable.
I ordered three beef tacos to go. They were very small. I could not chew the beef up because it had so much gristle in it. I had to spit it out. I threw most of it in the trash. I will never go back to this restaurant!
It’s a very, very, very small place. Looks like it’s family owned, even the teens help out-that’s great! A lot of stuff you could get at Walmart, and nothing had prices. We regrettably spent $75 for a family of 5. The aguas frescas were good - we got horchata, and agua de sandía. Pork, chicken tamales were dry. Tamales de elote were nothing to shout about.
3 carne asada tacos - meat was very fatty, I got sick. 3 al Pastor - hubby said it tasted like seasoned ground pork, and very fatty also.
I wouldn’t go back. They really need more help!
Their accents was heavy, so you already the food was gonna be Bomb. Ordered the carna asada and costillas de res en salsa, and they were super good home-made dishes. Tortillas were freshly cooked, and the sauces on the side were not too spicy, so I could actually enjoy them flavors. Over all a 9 out of 10 for an authentic Guerrero Mexican foreign very criollo high-end restaurant.
Their coffee was excelente, and the owner introduced it as Coffe made in Guerrero, Mexico.
La comida espectacular y bien criolla.
Muy buen café.
El Mercadito is THE authentic Mexican place for the burbs. I love having a place to get Menudo any day of the week. So good. You'll know you're in the right spot for lunch when you pull up and see all the trucks and trailers piled into the parking lot.
Pretty authentic Mexican food. Yery small inside lots of Mexican products for sale, food, goods etc. Not a fancy restaurant but more of hole in the wall. Seats maybe 24 people. Crowded at lunch time during the week with mostly Mexican workers on lunch break.
Can't say enough good things about this place! The atmosphere was beautiful, the workers were so sweet, and the food was amazingly priced! The tamales are probably the best I've ever had, im definitely gonna start going here more often!
Very bad service, the meat of the tacos is completely cold, the meat is very old and hard, the staff do not seem clean people. Bad service
Had tacos great el pastor and cabeza. Buddy had a burrito so big he couldn't finish. Light weight. Will go back probably tommorow.
So disappointed. My street style tacos were so greasy and tamales had very little meat. Won’t be coming back.
