Ted Drewes Frozen Custard reviews
14Was at Ted Drewes October 2023. It's been years since I've been. Got the Pumpkin Pie Concrete and it was amazing.
Growing up in St. Louis, I took Ted Drewes for granted. Today was a chilly day, but we were in St. Louis for the day and my husband wanted Ted Drewes. It was not a frozen treat type of day - but the Ted Drewes was still absolutely delicious. It never disappoints!
Est. 1929. A Route 66 fixture. Famous for its thick custard in many good flavors & sizes. VERY busy on hot summer nights, but do not allow lined to deter you; they move very quickly.the many employees are like worker bees.a well-oiled machine.
As always, an excellent experience
Delicious desserts along with friendly and professional staff
Not what I had in my when thinking of custard, but it was good. Just tasted like ice cream honestly, but a little pricey for what it is.
Heard about this place and it definitely lived up to the hype and was worth the short wait in line
We had a wonderful time. It was crowded, of course. But the wait wasn't long. I tried something different, and I enjoyed it.
Yes, Ted Drewes is a St. Louis treasure. No, I don’t think it’s the best custard in town. I give that crown to Andy’s.
I got a regular concrete with hot fudge, Reese’s, and cookie dough for $8. My wife got a pumpkin pie concrete for about $7. Both were just fine but it honestly wasn’t anything special, whereas I absolutely crave the Triple Chocolate concrete from Andy’s.
While part of the appeal of Ted Drewes is the old-school stand, placing and picking up your order is a cluster cuss. It wasn’t particularly crowded when we went but it was chaotic. No one knew where the line was, made worse by a bunch of people standing around waiting for the dessert. They should designate some windows for ordering and some for picking up to make it more clear. But I guess it’s all part of the experience.
An absolutely required stop when visiting or living in STL. A few things are certain: any of the flavor combos will be delicious, it will be busy no matter what time and you'll want to come back for more. I love hazelnuts and mocha, so I was smitten by the Russell. Also tried the Blues.blueberries, lemon and graham crackers. Mike drop.
Great service, the ice cream is good but not the best i've had. The toppings are also very good.
Fash and friendly! Love the options and always so delicious! Pearl liked her pup cup as well!
The machine in the St Louis airport gave us the wrong flavor and then the spoon dispenser was empty. Good grief.
Custard is the best! Use to live in St. Louis 30 years ago and visited. You would think in 30 years they would have added a sitting area, or updated the building.
My wife & I always order sundaes. They used to always give a lot of toppings on them, but lately we get hardly any so we always have to ask for extra. Still great though.
