STANDING OVATION

All the food was amazing but this was far more than dinner out. I am a total foodie and had romantic ideas of what a Supper Club experience would be like and this exceeded my expectations. Lovely live music, beautiful setting, amazing food, great service, amazing conversation with friends and NEVER felt rushed as they do not turn tables.

Amy and Vito Racanelli have thought through every detail you can imagine and along with their staffs were amazing hosts for the evening. We arrived at 6: 30pm and closed the place down a little past 10pm. Not once did we feel rushed. In fact, I felt like I was in someone’s private space where they truly cared for our well being. This was our first time at Tempus and some of the things that stuck out to me were all the service wear; plates, serving dishes and cutlery were all beautiful and part of the experience. The tables are all beautifully hand-crafted by a local woodworker and during dinner I found myself studying the grains of the table as it was so beautiful.

Ok now for the food and beverage overview. I started with an old-fashioned and it was amazing. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling white wine, I highly recommend the 2020 Saint-Hillaire, Blanquette de Limoux, France – great deal at $38! I am so grateful that the foodie friends who went with us love to try lots of things so we shared EVERYTHING and got to taste so much. There was an amuse-bouche that they brought to the table with a roasted eggplant on toast points and a cucumber with some sort of whipped cheese on top. This was a great way to awaken our taste buds. We then had Smoked Trout with Toast Points which were perfect texture and flavor. Next were 2 Waldorf Salads with the plates and salad properly chilled and perfectly dressed. Excellent and not to be missed. Before our entrees arrived, we ordered the bottle of Pinot Noir which paired very nicely with the rest of the meal that was on the way. For our entrees we had the Local Pork Schnitzel - GENEROUS portion and perfectly crispy. We also shared the local Roasted Amish Chicken. I am always amazed at how the quality of chicken can impact the flavors and texture of your eating experience. They have surely curated from an amazing farm not just the chicken but all the ingredients. To accompany the entrees we had the Creamed Spinach and Local Sautéed Mushrooms – do not miss either of these sides they were PERFECT! The mushrooms in particular were a variety of shapes, sizes and textures adding a bit of complexity eaten alongside both the pork and chicken. We finished off with 2 hot fudge sundaes (Chocolate Fudge and Butterscotch) and the Chocolate Layer Cake. We finished off cleansing our palates with some homemade Limoncello. As a foodie, when I have a great meal I like to pop my head in the kitchen at the end of a meal and thank everyone. My jaw dropped at how clean and organized this kitchen was at the end of a very busy evening which is true testament to the care and pride everyone has for the work they do. I am sure I have not done the evening experience justice but we plan to go again and bring more friends along for the experience but only if they are willing to share what we order as there is too much good stuff. In summary, it was a lovely evening and a great memory we will share with our friends.

Too many inconsistencies, but the real shame is when they brought everyone well done meat to my table.

Our company Christmas party of about 30 people was hosted at Tempus this year and everything was fantastic. Amy and Vito are excellent communicators and made sure to tailor the menu to our needs with no hesitation.
My staff loved the food and the service was very attentive and warm. David at the bar kept the drinks coming and even made a great mocktail for a pregnant patron.
We wouldn't hesitate to book again. It is a really great space for a medium sized gathering - the fact that you get the entire place to yourself is quite special.
Thanks Tempus team for your work to make our event really fun.

For the price, the food just was not very good. The waiter encouraged me to get the mushroom dinner and it truthfully tasted like dirt. Also, the pork steak was dry and for the cost, it should have been fantastic.
The only food enjoyable was the bread appetizer.

Dont go there. The only restaurant that is very strict about vaccination cards. Tgey also did not want to seat us because one of our party is missing. They would also charge you 50 $ per person if you dont show in time.

You’ve got to visit Tempus STL. I’ve visited Tempus for standard dinner service and for their Friends of James Beard tasting menu. Simply put, it’s exquisite. The flavors in each and every dish work together perfectly. And, each dish is cooked perfectly. The service is perfect, but slightly fussy for my liking. Nonetheless, the waiters were knowledgeable, polite, and helpful each visit. Lastly, the design and decor are flawless! Do visit.

This was such a lovely experience. The restaurant decor is beautiful. The flavor combinations were very interesting and workers. Hats off the chef for his creativity. The cocktails were great…I even liked how they tagged the water bottles. Everything about this restaurant is very thoughtful. Our servers were very attentive. Highly recommend!

This is going to be a sweet and sour comment.
We like the menus, all the Starters & Entrees are creative. The flavor profile is good but all the dishes tonight (4/29/2022) were TOO salty, it covered up the taste of the ingredients. For example, my crab rice dish was not able to taste the sweetness of the crabmeat; but I like the ingredients they put in this dish. It’s a shame, I was fully appetizing when I saw the dish but after a few bites, I couldn’t take the saltiness.
The pork chop and NY strip cook very nice doneness, especially the pork chop, it was very tender.

We can’t enjoy any of desserts. They are extremely sweet.

I think this is a restaurant that has creativities for the dishes, has sophisticated cooking skills. I hope they could reevaluate the balance between fat, salt & sugar.

I was extremely hyped about Tempus, after hearing so many good reviews not only online but from friends. Unfortunately, was not a fan of two of the three dishes ordered. I'm not sure if this was a newer menu or if the night of our reservation was an off night, but the food was not impressive for the cost. Both the mushroom with caramelized onion (hen of the woods which looked and tasted completely different from what I've had before, and the onions being more like wet noodles than carmelized) and crab dish (lump crab meat in sauce with rice) were a disappointment, though the pork steak was tasty. For the small menu and high cost, I was expecting the food to be fantastic:/ But the drinks and foccacia were amazing!

Very good service and interesting menu. I had the beets appetizer which was alright. I liked the pairing of the quark and granola. The main dish of peekytoe crab was very good. A little more of an Asian spin and it ate a little sweet but still very nice with the crab.
I got the pineapple dessert which was interesting but just overly sweet in my opinion.

Overall, I like what they're doing and the restaurant and service are awesome. I'd go back.

Homemade cocktails were outstanding. The three course menu was a gastromic feast. Worthy of a James Beard Award nominee. The chef put his special touch on every dish. The salmon with sauerkraut and the Ceasar salad with white anchovies were an excellent interpretation. Our server Mya was wonderful. And all the service was meticulous.
