Tequileros Mexican Restaurant, Independence MO

My first time in this neighborhood restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. I had a bowl of piping hot menudo and it was delicious the meat was tender and the soup was very flavorful.
I took a chicken enchilada dinner to go and they were very good also! Looking forward to my next visit!

Being from California where we have authentic Mexican food this food was well underspiced and not very good.

The food was insane. Large portions that were hot and fresh.
There wasn't one person who worked there we did not have a conversation. It's always a good time when someone takes the time to see how you are doing, not the here is the food, glad it was good, next customer

The food is amazing! The portions are huge! I am sitting here very full and happy. This is a wonderful restaurant in a strip mall. Definitely did not expect the top food in a strip mall, but it is here. Do not miss this gem.

Had lunch here today. Had chicken Freitas. The chicken was seasoned well and lots of onions & peppers. The guacamole is the best I’ve had anywhere, chunky & topped with some pico. The chips are fresh and warm & thin. Service was quick. The beans & rice were pretty standard, nothing special. O my negative was the salsa was tasty but just too thin. I’ll be going back. Had a margarita and it was very good too. Prices are reasonable.

Small local restaurant with delicious authentic food at very reasonable prices. Since we are from out of town, we used reviews to choose this fantastic place. We were NOT disappointed. It's not a big flashy restaurant but it has excellent food and a very friendly staff. We'll definitely go back next time we are here. Thanks for a great meal.

Walked in and made a take out order for some enchiladas. The woman at the counter was very friendly, food was great, and they threw in a little bag of chips and salsa. EL Pico on the square charged me $4 for a little bag of chips and salsa for take out not going there again. This is my new favorite restaurant can't wait to try other menu items.

In today's economy where you can pay $12-$15 a meal for fast-food, this affordable, family friendly restaurant is a hidden gem. With such good food and good service, it's our new family night out favorite.

Best Mexican restaurant in the city! We go there all the time! The guacamole is the best! The Tequileros Combo is great! The chimichangas are perfectly crispy! Thin chips with great salsa. This place rocks!

Order from here almost weekly- me and my husband are constantly talking about how each time we go it is better than the last. We always get it to go but have been in a few times- one of the few places that the food is just as good after the drive home. We love it here! -Tabitha & Noah

The tacos were very very very delicious, we ordered asada and al pastor, the only bad thing was that the al pastor tacos had very little meat, if it weren't for that, I would give it 5 stars. Update: in my previous review I had given them 4 stars for the lack of meat in the tacos al pastor, but yesterday I ordered tacos again and the truth is the flavor and quality of the meat was quite terrible, the tacos al pastor did not taste like very good, the taco meat was more fat than meat and the asada tacos were not great either, the meat was not good, I don't know if they changed the cook or what the reason is but it's not what it was

First time here and I'll definitely be back! Service was nice and FAST! Barely waited for the food to come out! Drink was delicious. Appetizers meals and dessert for 3 with a BIG pinacolada included and the bill was under $60! My new weekend spot

It is a family owned restaurant and that makes it an absolute joy! They are all so nice and the food is so delicious. I try something new everything and everytime I am amazed!

I was taken here by my son who used to live in the area. This place is not somewhere that someone passing through would find themselves. It’s an absolute hidden Gem. This place was delicious and authentic.
