This was our first visit. Like many others we waited until the drive thru lines weren't so busy.

We had previewed the menu online before going and had decided we would do the 2/$25 with 2 entrees and 2 appetizers. When we ordered she told us it was now 2/$30 but we thought that would still be the way to go considering the high price of an order of crab rangoon. (They are 4/$5.45, more on this later).

My wife got spicy cashew chicken and I got Thai Spicy Drunken Noodles. Both dishes had very good flavor, however the portions were quite small especially considering the price. The entrees alone would not have been enough food. If we had purchased them separately the cashew chicken would have been almost $12 and the Drunken Noodles would be $14, portions were very small for those prices. If I had purchased my entree and appatizer separately it would have cost over $19, there is no way it was worth that much. I could have a good steak with 2 sides in a restaurant where I would be served at my table for less than that. For this reason I gave the Food a 3 rating.

While the crab rangoon had good flavor and were quite large the shells were soggy. We prefer a crunchy shell like their menu states that they are made with wonton shells. We put ours in the oven at home for 20 minutes and they were a little better. Ironically, the best crab rangoon in Springfield, and the best we've had anywhere, are at China King which is located directly behind Thai Express. The order of 4 at Thai Express is definitely not worth $5.45.

Overall it wasn't a bad experience, the flavor was really good, but for $30 in a drive thru we felt like we should have had more food, and were disappointed in the crab rangoon. As mentioned before, China King will not disappoint and the portions are large, and the 2 of us can have dinner for $10 less than here. And my wife can make 2 meals out of her China King order. We wanted to try this place because it's new on our side of town and we knew the owner tries to support the local community, despite how the media tries to portray him, but unfortunately it will not be a regular stop for us. We wish them long term success.

A little pricey but completely worth it. The pineapple rice with chicken is one of my favorites. As well as the egg rolls. You won’t be disappointed!

Have eaten here monthly for years and have never been disappointed. The staff is great, and the food is authentic. The soup on Thursday is just kind of plain but for some reason I can't get enough of it, so addictive. UPDATE.usually when I call in Patrick answers the phone knows exactly what I'm asking for but this time the girl who answered the phone did not understand simple instructions that I was pre-ordering to pick it up in drive through and then told me they don't have any kind of hot sauce other than dried pepper flakes then I asked for this clear sweet sauce and she told me she would give me sweet and sour sauce I had to correct her and told her to ask somebody else what I'm talking about. But the food was great and I finally got them to understand what kind of sauces I was looking for.

Words cannot express the joy I have in my heart for the amazing food and service at Thai Express. From the kind and knowledgeable staff to the extras provided when you eat in. Top notch flavor, the right amount of spices, Very clean facility. If you leave hungry there is something wrong with you. The portions are more the adequate. Will definitely be back my next trip to Springfield.

Excellent, and they aren't kidding when they say express. We had our food in less than five minutes and watched it fly out the door the entire time. When ordering spice level, round down.

Fast, delicious take out with friendly professional staff. Just look at the dining room dining lunch and that's all you need to know about how good it is.

Cashier was very welcoming and friendly. Food was fantastic.

They have punchcards for their Thai Iced Tea, so you earn a free one every so often. It. Is Delicious.

Was excited to try this place cuz I heard it was all the rave. I got the cashew chicken and I was pretty disappointed. Not only was it overpriced for the quantity received but the flavor was lacking. Soggy chicken and a sauce that leaves the customer wishing they stuck to their "go to"place instead. (Chinese chef)

I also ordered the pad Thai and it to just didnt sit well on the palet. Not to mention almost no protein to be found in the dish. Wheelhouse on Sunshine is far superior in it's flavors, as well it's pricing and the amount you receive. I always try to support local business but this place let me down hard. Not as advertised!

I’m pretty picky about my crab Rangoons, and Thai express knocks it outta the park for me. They come hot at fresh, fully loaded, they’re big, and delicious. Not too sweet, not too savory. I’m not sure what the dipping sauce is, but it’s really good too! I don’t normally dip my Rangoon, but I’ll do a few dips in the sauce. I also have to rave about their Traditional Thai tea. It’s amazing as well! This restaurant is easily becoming a fav!

This is our favorite Thai place in Springfield. It's not quite the same in the new location, but Patrick is still around once in awhile, and the food is always delicious. Be sure you mean it if you order "Thai Hot"!

Had the Bangkok boom and oh my word, the food was so good! I had it at the hot spice level, and it did not disappoint. Chicken and rice were cooked to perfection. The spring roll was also on point. Loved the unique warm nutty sauce to dip it in!

My only recommendation is to consider changing the type of service to having tables waited on. We had several things we had to get up for and wait in line to get.

But with how delish the food is, and how well it made me feel afterwards - 5 stars!

This place is always a hit! The employees are always so kind and helpful and the food is very good! The 3 different kinds of self service water always get my water intake up.

We have been coming to eat Patrick and Anna’s Thai for 25 years now. I was so happy to hear about the new location and how their son has taken it over and is keeping it running. Loved seeing Patrick’s smiling face behind the counter.

We've been excited to go since the opening but didn't because of the lines. We happened to drive by on Christmas Eve around 4PM and saw the lines were minimal, so we decided to stop. I'll be honest, I was very disappointed. We ordered cashew chicken and royal chicken. Cashew chicken we ordered in a regular size which included about 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of food. The royal chicken was a large size and I feel that this is the standard size of most other Asian food places. Sure, it filled us up but there definitely wasn't enough for a decent leftover meal the next day.

The taste was okay, not amazing for all the hype. Very mild and bland compared to most other. I prefer The Wok and Canton Inn's cashew chicken over this. The royal chicken was alright but not amazing.

Another concern I had was we decided to go inside to order carryout. When I went to pay, there was no option to skip the tip. The lowest I could tip was 5%. I don't mind tipping when dining in but if you're going to force customers to tip, please just include it into the cost of food and pay your employees a living wage. I don't know if you have to tip in drive-through.

We will probably go back in a few months and try some of their more popular items but it's going to be several months before we give it a go again. Next time I want to spend $35 on food, I'll go somewhere else that I know will give me plenty of leftovers the next day.

Thai Express is my favorite restaurant in Springfield. Everything here is excellent and Patrick and his dad Patrick are two of my favorite people. The drunken noodles are out of this world too!

I really like the crab Rangoon. Especially tasty. The owner did a version of cashew chicken that is so incredible. Proportiins are plentiful. Also, I like sitting a business that supports the community and other small businesses
