The Comedy Club of Kansas City

Comedian funny but server lost our order then it came out burnt but raw. Don't waste your time here.go to one of the other comedy clubs in town.

The greeters and comedians were great, but the night ended on a really sour note with sketchy billing. I came alone tonight to try something new and the staff who helped with tickets and seating were really nice and made me feel comfortable. The comedians were funny (duh). They have the 2 item minimum (standard, not a problem).
And since I'm a party of one, they put me at a table with 3 other people (also expected, not a problem).

Here's the problem:

1. They charged the 18% gratuity for parties of 8+ (I am one single person by myself sitting at a table of 4). Honestly, this one's not a huge deal because I planned on tipping at least that amount anyway, but it's deceptive and sketchy to do that to people without warning.

2. The staff are required to get your payment done before the show ends, so there's no option to discuss or dispute the issue unless you wanna disrupt the show for others and miss part of the show you paid to see. You have to go try and find someone afterward, and if you pay in cash there's no receipt or record to show what happened.

3. I paid in cash. The server walked away like normal but never came back. No change. And there was no warning or written policy. They just take it and bounce. Completely ignoring the gratuity thing, just the cash issue meant that they took more than I expected (or consented) to pay, which is just dishonest.

Realistically, for a night out, it still wasn't terribly expensive. All of this combined just makes it seem very deceptive and sketchy. If a night out is going to cost this much, then that's totally fine; just be clear about costs upfront so it's the customer's choice. But don't arbitrarily apply fees to people without cause and take their extra cash without permisson. I love comedy and would love to see more shows, but I'm not comfortable coming here again.

They were completely overwhelmed by the sold out Jacques Zee Whipper show. They lost my order, the other 3 orders at the table were all burned. I guess the venue would be fine for straight stand up if the performer wasn't too popular, but not for any sort of variety act.

We enjoyed the comedy show we attended at the Comedy Club of Kansas City. Seating was adequate and not crowded, although the tables could be arranged better so one side of the table wouldn't have the stage to their back.
Drink and food choices were adequate, whether you want to eat dinner there or just snack. A full bar with specialty drinks was available as well, but has a two-drink minimum.
The club is nicely organized, and the wait staff keeps you in drinks and food, even during the show.

It was okay while waiting for the show, just standing room only. Service was great. I wish I laughed more.

It is a great comedy club. The staff is really above par and makes it very enjoyable. They are really friendly and fun. The menu is priced like you would expect, but the food is surprisingly good.

I went on open mic night and it was a fun time. There were a ton of acts, at least 20 I think. It dragged on a bit but there were plenty that were really funny. Drinks were a little pricey but the ticket to get in was just 5 bucks so it evens out. It was my first time at a comedy club and I'd come back!

The show was great, the location was nice, lots of parking, the drink prices weren’t terrible and our service was friendly. The reason I am giving 2-stars is because I purchased my tickets during a promotional period without realizing that there was a promotion code until the morning after. I emailed to see if there was any way to get a credit for the difference since I couldn’t return the tickets and buy them again with the promo (understanding that is was possible that there wasn’t anything that could be done). My email was ignored. So, I called and asked the same a few days later, and the person on the phone wasn’t the most friendly at the beginning, but when they understood what I was asking they said they would speak to their boss and get back to me. They never did. Not a yes, not a no, just no answer. If there was a way to return the tickets, I wouldn’t have gone. I wish I could rate them higher but being ignored TWICE was enough to put me off from coming back and this was my first time, so I don’t have any other experience to counter it with. Please don’t ignore your customers in the future.

If I could give them negative stars I would. Don’t waste your time at this comedy club. The staff (hostess, waitress and the management) were super rude, I will never go back even if it’s the last place to go. And on top of this the main comedian was not funny at all. There are so many other comedy clubs you can go to in KC, do yourself a favor and go there and not here. Negative 5 stars!

So disappointed in Harland Williams. I brought my family to his show. He never came out to meet the fans

Owners and staff are so rude! They didn’t even have their business license posted! Also tried to talk to a manager to say that one of there staff members was harassing us and nothing was done about it! Then they kicked us out for no reason! Do not go here they are not professional! Go to improve comedy club up in zone Rosa they have way better staff and definitely is a way better establishment! This place is a joke don’t waste your money!

Had to stand outside in the cold and wait even though we had tickets. Very small space. Comedian was funny so it made up for the wait.

We saw a favorite TikTok comedian here, Geoffrey Asmus. He was great! The facilities are obvious an renovation of a store front or some other past business. They too are decent. Though, kaybe could use some imagination on the design. Where we lose a star is the booking, we had preferred seating, but upon entry everyone went in and there was no discussion on what type of ticket you had. Since it wasn't a packed out crowd we still had somewhat decent seats, but maybe next time we won't spend the extra $ for supposedly better seats.

They get great comedians to KC which I very much appreciate and the staff and service is always top notch!

I definitely laughed a lot. I went to an adult show, and it was definitely adult. I prefer cleaner comedy, but it was still great. Thanks for a good laugh!
