The Communities of Wildwood Ranch, Joplin MO

My mom stayed a week and didn't get her medicine given to her at correct time. Nurses said they were going off of hospital discharge papers, but never could produce them for me. I called hospital myself and got a copy and nothing like what was being told by staff. They kept adding additional medication my mom doesn't even take. Dr came into my moms room, asked her if she was the patient thats daughter was causing trouble with his nurses, she said she guessed, he mumbled and walked out the door and never came back the whole stay. My mom came in with broken nose, they were to take her to see ENT within 5 days and never did. The facility was clean and for the most part, everyone was nice, with exception of one head male nurse that totally refused to see or hear my moms diagnosis that we spent over a year and many, many, many falls and trips to hospital to finally figure out and get under control. I would not take my mom or anyone I cared about there, even if it was a last resort.

The response time to a call for assistance is ridiculous. I understand that the staff is overwhelmed and underpaid, but you can tell who just doesn't care. I believe if the staff would ask themselves how they would feel if it was their loved one not getting assistance they would step it up. Choices for this kind of care are limited in joplin, so we decided to give it a chance, but after two weeks it just got worse. Going somewhere else
