The Court House Exchange reviews
28If you're craving comfort food, this is the place! I ordered the Santa Fe Burger and my son ordered the Oregon Trail Burger. Love the historical trails theme! We split our burgers and shared and the pulled pork on the OT burger gave it a great flavor! SF burger was juicy and not extra spicy which was good!
This place never fails to deliver. They serve awesome food for fair prices, there no long wait even when they are loaded.
They offer an awesome variety of fresh food. I liked dining here. The employees are always kind, prices are fair and the spot is always neat.
I'm still not ready to dine in, so we ordered curbside. Jodie answered the phone with a smile. Our order was delivered to our car, in the time frame she told us. The food was hot and delicious. Hubby had his stand by Courthouse Exchange burger, and I had my go to, The OG. It's my favorite pork tenderloin sandwich!
Holy moly, that was tasty food! It's the first time we have been there and we will definitely be back! The BEST mac and cheese I have had at a restaurant hands down.
I ordered the Santa Fe Burger and my son ordered the Oregon Trail Burger. Love the historical trails theme! We split our burgers and shared and the pulled pork on the OT burger gave it a great flavor! SF burger was juicy and not extra spicy which was good! I want to taste the burger. Ladies they had a nice salad bar too.
I love supporting local businesses but the lady at host stand owner or manager lost her mind rude nasty and swearing at me especially when the mistake is her fault. Don't not support this restaurant nasty lady
We have a handful of favorite places to go to eat when we drive through KC. Courthouse Exchange is one of them, they’re consistently good with service and food year after year.
Great service, awesome food, love the atmosphere and the historic building. We always eat on the patio in the summer for the live music. Their ranch is fantastic.
We love this little speakeasy in Independence. Especially during the spring and summer when they have live music. Oh and the carrot cake is the best!
Really enjoyed it. Salad bar was great tenderloin huge, and service excellent. I did have to watch for low ceilings!
For my plant-based eating plane, I was able to get a huge baked potato at lunch, a house salad with lemon wedges, green beans side and homemade applesauce. Good food, good service, quick seating, easy restroom access. I was able to park right in front. We had a good conversation in an historic location.
Charming downstairs venue with historic stone walls and great service. Menu was above bar, and varied. They pushed tables together to accommodate our party of 5. Easy street parking across from the courthouse on Independence Square.
I went with a party of 4. My sister's burger was overcooked and very dry. The worst was the rude waiter.
Fun environment underground, with photos of earlier courthouses of Independence. The food is very good pub food, with extremely good sandwiches. (The ratio of potatoes to chicken in the chicken pot pie was too high for me.) When the waitress tells you to order a half order of the fried pickles, believe her. My husband and I split the half order, with pickles to spare. They also have good dessert selections, but we were too full to try them. Next time!
This is a really cool place in the basement of one of the old buildings around the square. But they don't rely on that alone to get and keep customers-it has the best service I've gotten in forever and the food is fast and delicious! This is one of my top 3 for 2018! Make sure you get their hand-beaded onion rings. They're the bomb!
The Chicken Fried Chicken us the best I've ever had in my life! The house specialty drinks are fantastic as well and it's very reasonably priced. It's a favorite place for me to go.
I had the buttermilk fried chicken. Very good. The biscuit was terrific also. Don't recommend the green beans: seemed overcooked. Gravy on potatoes so so but that could just be my preference. Staff friendly and courteous.
This place is great. History, great food (delicious buffalo chicken salad), outdoor seating with live music. You come here for the experience and the quality. This is not a place you can get in and out of quickly.
