THE COVERED BRIDGE MARKET reviews
11It's a small little store. There was live music and the menu that was being offered was burnt tips, brisket and meatloaf. The burnt tips were to die for.
My meat destination. Yes, the variety of stakes makes me want to get more. The customer service is great. Makes you feel at home
I mainly stop here for their home made brats. They also have a nice selection of localy raised meat and butcherd there. Really good stuff.
Had great sandwich! Drink options where a little limited. (I try not to drink soda). I grabbed a package of thick cut bacon an will return when I'm driving threw for more for sure!
Fantastic local meat store! The boss is super nice. The price of the meat is so good. I can order some special beef cut in the way I want, wonderful!
It is mainly a butcher shop, but they do carry some surplussed groceries. But that description barely does it justice, and this place has been a new favorite Saturday outing since moving to Jeff City.
The manager couldn't be more personable and this interesting character will fix you up with meat for any occasion- just ask. Live Bluegrass music every Saturday and a very reasonably-priced lunch. The lunch is to showcase their meat and grocery offerings. There is a little ice cream parlor, but you might have to wait.til the girls running the counter are done singing a few hymnals with the band!
The meat is from a co-op of local farmers, and though it is a little more expensive than grocery store prices, it would likely cost a whole lot more if it were marketed in a larger city as "locally grown".
They have some unique prepared meats I have never found the likes of anywhere else, such as their sweet pepper bacon steaks.
Seems to be be a family business and I wish them prosperity. Although the place is so darn quaint it should maybe be kept a secret!
This is an amazing place! Such a great butcher shop! We love the smoked pork chops and the facon! If you're in the area, please stop and support this local business.
Stopped by there today, seen it on my way to another town, Nice place, very low inventory, they sell grocery and meat. I assume they buy discounted foods damaged or closely outdated, the prices really do not show any discount on the grocery side, mor like convenience store prices for what they offer. Shelves are less than half full, probally due to fact people want better deals when you are paying pennys on the dollar for a product, very nice and clean store. They sell meat, They have decent prices on half hogs and beef, they even have beef bacon. Going to try some of the fresh cut meet, my main issue is prices on hunts canned spaghetti sauce and such, most stores retail at $1, they mark it up 50% from that, same thing throughtout grocery section. More often than not their prices reflect much higher markups based on the prices I know they pay. Also, its on the edge of the Mennenite area, its built to look like one of the community. It draws people based on appearence, and area, but lack of product tells me they dont sell much grocery, I think the meat might be worth checking out though, IMO they should just open a butcher shop, people will not pay grocery store prices + 25-50% for product they are buying at discounts, more than likely you can drive 5 miles and save serious $$$$$$!
Nicest folks you'll ever meet.
Great selection of meats and groceries as well.
Was told they do a Saturday lunch with live music and good times.
Bacon steaks.that is all the review really needs but its worth mentioning the friendly service with wonderful people and ham cuts perfect for beans. The live music they have on Saturdays with at least 6 different instruments was a pleasure to experience also.
This place is fantastic! It reminds me of the country stores I knew when I was a lad spending the summers with me grandparents in northern Wisconsin. Great food, great people and kindness. A wonderful throw back in time when people, service and excellence counter for something.
