The Fish Market reviews
19The epitome of a whole in the wall, and, as expected, I can't recommend it enough. I tried the catfish basket with bite sized pie es of catfish. It was great. The staff was friendly and attentive. Get there before 530 to avoid the packed house.
Best Frog legs, gumbo, gizzard, shrimp, and potato salad I've had ever! Outstanding prices, and selection of cajun food!
Alligator bites were delicious. They were out of every form of chicken. We did make a.larger order which caused the oil to get cold and some of the go d we got was not well cooked due to that but overall good food
I had the fried alligator platter and a goblet of beer! Delicious! I need to come back and try more stuff on the menu. I will be back!
The food there is very good like always II can't say enough about the food there the waitresses are great nice and polite
We loved it! The food was fresh and delicious! The only thing that could have made it better is if there had been live music!
Dont know what to add with all these reviews. Great food, super great service, outside patio was great on an Oct.afternoon.
Been wanting to try this place out for sometime now. It has a classic fish joint feel without being on the water, but you feel like you are. I went with gator nuggets (I mean why not?) So tender and tasty! Hush puppies so soft and flavourful as well. Our server was very friendly and enjoyed her help. I give it 4 stars for now cause I plan to go back and try the frog legs and desert. Then I'll up the rating to 5!
Called in a full pound of boiled shrimp.
Walked in a couple minutes later and ordered a beer while I waited. Was at shift change and wasn't too busy.
Was greeted and taken care of quickly.
Shrimp came out and they were huge and so tasty and fantastic. Highly recommend! Eaten here before and I always forget they are there. I'm glad I remembered. I'll be back soon! Thanks again!
Great place to get some seafood in the Liberty area! Definitely a place to look forward to coming back to when I'm in the area.
This hidden treasure is worth the trip. Like a piece of NOLA right here north of the river. The choices are amazing! Come hungry! Will be back! Great wait staff and chill vibe make it one to come back to. Fresh never frozen catfish frog legs and much more.
My time ordering here. I did a carry out order around 835 pm and was advised the kitchen was closing around 850 pm and they had no problem taking my order and was friendly and answered any questions I had. The food itself was great. I do have a couple complaints, nothing major. They did forget 2 items that I ordered. My fault for not checking the bag, I did call and they did offer to give me a different item if I came back, I live a little far so they did what they could. Complaint 2. The alligator bites and basket are mostly fried, So by the time I got home it was soggy from the condensation in the to go boxes. I definitely recommend dine-in as it will probably be a little better than carry out especially for the price of the food. Overall This is a good place and will be back to dine in!
Love this place and always get take out, this time we ate inside. Much better hot and fresh. We ordered alagator bites and was my first time having that, was really good. Didn't taste gamie or wild at all, now for the frog legs my partner ordered and had me try now that wasn't to my liking at all. And I always get the shrimp here, and I don't like hush puppies but they have some pretty amazing ones.
Awesome food. Great Catfish and shrimp and hushpuppies and cornbread.
Great waitresses and the person making soups really knows what they are doing!
We have eaten at the Fish Market several times now, both at lunchtime and dinner, and it has been an excellent experience each time. The food is prepared and presented well. The service has always been good and if there is some request they go out of their way to accommodate. I would highly recommend giving the Fish Market a try. The parking lot, and cars parked along the road, will make it look so full that one would expect them to have no tables. We thought that about everytime but surprisingly they still had several tables available.
They must count the potato in the 1/2 lb of shrimp! Also no butter with to go order so make sure you check it before you leave. For $20 I would expect more than what I got!
Always enjoy the small tucked away location, the friendly staff / servers, and the never disappointing menu options. Gator bites and Hush puppies are always on the list of things to order. Love when I'm north of the river and have an excuse to stop in.
Excellent food, Excellent service, despite being short handed the entire staff had great attitude. Great experience all around, COLDEST BEER IN TOWN! My family and I will return
This is a cool place. Reminds of a hole in the wall seafood joint in Louisiana or South Texas. My wife an daughters had the shrimp platter and it was great. Fried shrimp were small but the batter was light and there were a lot of them. We liked them a lot. I had the jambalaya and it was not good. Seemed like cheep Spanish rice with thin sliced hot dogs and tiny shrimp. Service was good and we will be back. I do not recommend the jambalaya.
