I am very sad to say that The Gathering (despite the fact that their "slogan" is 'For All') have found out very abruptly that.they truely are Not "for all". My husband, myself, and two children, were kicked out of this church for asking the pastor to personally respond to some questions of doctrine and help during a trying time dealing with loss of life of close friends and family. This unfortunately is not a church for those of us that ask for our Pastor to "show up to life and be an encouraging example of our Christian faith.
Great place to worship because all are welcome to come. Non-denominational Methodist Church in Maplewood that was new in August 2018. Huge parking lot that needs to have a few more handicapped parking. Handicapped accessible restroom. Free coffee. Tea. Cold water with snacks. Child care is great. Many activities and events like the St Louis international film festival. Come now.
There is no church like this one. I can’t say enough good things about these people. They truly love and care about everyone no matter who you are, what you believe, or where you cane from.
The Gathering is a Methodist Church that fully embraces inclusion of everyone. The McCausland site opened in the fall of 2018 and is quite a remarkable venue for both church and activities. Everyone that works and volunteers there is clearly there with passion in their purpose and makes it a wonderful experience. There is children's worship during regular services, but there are many that bring their children into the main room. The service is broadcast into the lobby. This is truly a state-of-the-art facility with audio visual top notch, which really enhances a very talented group of musicians that perform. Every service builds upon the preceding one following a particular theme for several weeks in a row.
