The Hub German Restaurant & Lounge, St Robert MO

I've been going here since I was a kid and wow. Talk about consistency. I come home and it is a treat to get to go there. I still get the St. Moritz schnitzel with cheese and they STILL knock it out of the park every single time. Their German potato salad is also exceptional. AAAND they have a whole tower of desserts to pick from! Talk about total package! But really I went back after like 5-10 years and it was as good as ever. That's not easy to do for an entire lifetime!

New menu with new meal options. Food was very good and their desserts are amazing. Service was a bit slow but they still took care of everything

This place is one of best in town it's family owned and the lady is very sweet her kids work their butts off and it's some of the best food I've ever had in my life

The Hub is one of the best restaurants If not the best in St Robert. The reason for the 4 out of 5 stars is the price. It is a little pricey but the food is excellent.

We came here a few times when our kids were young (15 to 20 years ago) on our way to St Louis and loved the food. We decided to visit again and the food was just as amazing as it was back then! So rich and flavorful! The atmosphere is like stepping back in time (in a good nostalgic way). We were so full, but the dessert cases called to us, so we grabbed some to go! So close to the interstate, do yourself a favor and try this place! You will be glad you did!

Sadly, the food was not impressive. The service was excellent, the decor was fun, and the restaurant was clean. These things however did not make up for the poor quality of the meals. One should expect made-to-order dishes or at least same-day preparation when the price for a full meal is $35 to $55 per person. Simply put, the odds of this being frozen food which is then microwaved is somewhat high. The lack of taste gives it away. Also, if your order arrives 7-9 minutes after service takes it, then you know it was either kept on a heater for hours or microwaved from frozen. It would have been amazing to have a local German restaurant to frequent. Going back for another meal is out of the question.

I’ve maybe left 3-4 reviews in my life, but credit should be given when it’s due. Having been raised by a traditional German grandmother in New England, I was eager, yet skeptical of a German restaurant here in the middle of Missouri.

The Hub has a very homey feel to it, a restaurant taking you back to the 1970s, with real dining room tables and nifty German decor around its walls. With most of Ft Leonard Wood enjoying likely St Louis or the Ozarks this Labor Day weekend, I stopped in to grab a bite.

Suzie was my server and I would discover this was her family’s restaurant. She was so sweet and took the time to talk with me about her family and mine’s history, shared cultures and memories. It was truly remarkable to have such a warm-hearted person to serve me as well as simply talk to me.

Now onto the food: the salad, served with a side of cabbage and green beans is something I grew up with and was happily, and delectably surprised to see. When you have a salad that requires 0 dressing, you know you’ve hit a home run! Then came the main course, I opted for the Schnitzel Trio as I couldn’t pick just one thing. Oh my goodness, this was exactly like Oma’s cooking. From the perfect spaetzle to the savory gravy, it was like being transported back home to Oma’s house. Enticed to try some cake, although many slices of choice were sold out (first come first serve!), I snagged a slice of German chocolate cake and was not disappointed. Washed down with two German beers, this experience was as close to home as I’ve gotten since being here at Ft Leonard Wood. A mom and pop store through and through, The Hub has delivered a fantastic experience in food and service, which is so rare to see. Be proud of this restaurant St Robert- you all have a gem here!

We were there for lunch on Sunday. Despite prior reviews there was NO smoke. The service was awesome albeit the guests were limited. The food was authentic and plentiful. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone interested in German cuisine. The desserts are also scrumptious.

The Hub has been around my whole life and it's not going anywhere anytime. I'll try to be short and sweet okay. The food there is my favorite, the zegunier schnitzel (breaded pork) topped with its signature hot brown gravy is to die for. It's got the perfect amount of salt plus jalapeños. To add the homemade spaetzle (sorry about the spelling) and side salad with the hard rolls. Magnificent? Also their beer choices are on point. Order your food from the bar. And have a Crystal on me, u won't be disappointed. Thanks The Hub.

This place is the best German restaurant I've eaten at in the US! Very authenticly prepared foods, but the service really set this place apart. I haven't found rouladen anywhere in the US except here and it was as delicious as Oma makes it.

An amazing homey German restaurant. Staff are very kind. Great tasting food, highly recommend the schnitzel!

It doesn't seem like much from the outside but the food was very good and I was made to feel comfortable inside. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like German food.

Subpar german food. Food was bland almost felt like sauces were out of a can. Won't be back.

Have been going there for many years! It's my favorite German restaurant, or favorite for any type. Deserts are to die for! Snitzels are out if this world! You must go there!
