The Laya Center, Kansas City MO

The Laya Center is peaceful, relaxing, and calming. The space is designed with organic materials, earthy textures, and tons of plants, integrating nature and creating harmony and balance from the moment you walk in the doors. The staff are all very friendly and soft-spoken and make you feel calm and welcome. The music feels more ayurvedic and healing and less like a stereotypical spa/zen playlist.

I had a 90-minute deep tissue massage that I went into hoping would ease some hip pains I was having, but overall I wasn't happy with my service and didn't know how to voice that with my massage therapist. After hearing I was unhappy with my massage, Joe, who own and manages the center, called me immediately and was kind, patient, and understanding without making me feel bad for speaking up about my negative experience. He offered to book me a new massage and cranial sacral treatment with another therapist and included a cryotherapy session for my ongoing hip issues.

When I arrived for my second visit, Joe personally worked with me during the cryotherapy and explained everything and made me feel very comfortable. He was very personable, encouraging, and helped me get pumped up for the cold with Beyonce. Honestly, I'd hire him to be my life-coach because he was so positive! The cryotherapy was much easier than I thought it would be and I felt amazing afterwards. He also gave me a bit of background on himself and his wife and how they opened the space and it really helped me understand more about the center. My new massage was with Angela and she was absolutely wonderful. She sat down with me before she got started and we talked through a few things and she seemed to just intuitively know where all of my muscle aches and pains were, as she was spot on. She spoke softly to me throughout the massage and it felt like a little therapy session for my mind and body. She made most of my aches go away and eased so much tension in my mind and body.

I was so very grateful that Joe arranged for my second visit and was so pleased with my results. I can't wait to come back again and try more treatments and definitely get more cryotherapy. I even bought a helpful book from the shop in the lobby. Would definitely recommend, and if you don't like it the first time, try it again, because each therapist really has their own techniques, and what might work for some may not work for others. Find what fits!

I don’t have words to express how AMAZING The Laya Center is! From the moment I walked in- it was a wonderfully different vibe. Tiffany gave me the best massage I have ever had. She addressed areas that I forgot to even mention to her.
Next I had a facial with Melissa- again AMAZING! Each therapist was knowledgeable and offered excellent suggestions for home care but wasn’t pushy trying to sell anything. I will definitely be back.

The Laya team is super knowledgeable and friendly. The Laya Center space is open, inviting, and clean. You feel relaxed and cared for as soon as you walk in. I recently went to get an herbal phytofacial from Ashley - she listened to my needs and created a wonderfully calming, custom experience for me. I will definitely go back and send my friends!

I came back and had a 60 minute massage with Simona today. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have - she did a FABULOUS job and it was truly the best massage I have ever had. Thank you so much!

The hosts are incredibly nice. They have the best customer service I have ever received at a cafe. The muspresso is amazing, a must try. Great atmosphere as well, and plenty of great wellness resources as well.

My husband and I came here for my birthday and it was amazing! The location was easy to get to with a lot of parking available! The place is beautifully decorated. We purchased the rejuvenate package which included the cryotherapy chamber, infrared sauna, 60 min massage and a steam treatment afterwards! We left feeling so relaxed. Both our massage therapist had wonderful technique and pressure. I was super excited to hear they do up to 3 hour massages! Everyone was so kind. Thank you for such a lovely experience. We look forward to coming back!:)

Wow, what a find. While visiting KC with my daughter to play VB, we needed cryo for my daughters sprained ankle. Joe’s ability to relate to her as an athlete was obvious from the start. He asked questions about everything from the injury to her future plans, and really explained the science and benefits of cryotherapy. He really helped my daughter feel comfortable to try it for her first time. She even got to pick out her favorite song to jam too. Thank you Joe and The Layla Center for such a great introduction. We will be back!
