Not worth it.
Person at Hostess stand was not friendly and couldn't be bothered by us interrupting what she was doing on her (personal) phone with earbuds in. She walked away from us and got someone else to seat us.

Excellent new venue. Service, atmosphere and food are outstanding. Love the selection of teas.always hit the retail store.

Frequent flyer and never disappointed! Food choices for the various teas are on point, with excellent service and lots of information provided, to those who are interested.

I love the retail shop and always leave with packages of tea (some new to try, some old friends).

A St. Louis treasure.

The London Tea Room has a lovely ambiance. We were in the upstairs space with pretty chandeliers. One person at our table had requested gluten-free items. When the waitstaff brought our tea trays to the table, they noticed tha request. They took our trays away! It was another 10 minutes before they returned with (identical) trays and a single plate of gluten free items. We were starving.

They didn't bring enough tea for everyone at the table. Then, they brought out mango tea (yellow and warm). None of us cared for it, so we asked for more of the breakfast tea. They brought more mango tea.: - (

The food was fine, but not stellar. The cucumber sandwich was the best.

The scones were beautiful but dry.

The little apple tart leaked juice and made it very messy to eat.

Overall, I was disappointed.

This pastry chef is top notch! Best high tea I could have imagined and the tea is exceptional!

We attended the special Hobbit tea on September 23 and it was excellent! As always, the food was phenomenal-Pippin's goat cheese baskets and the lembas bread were personal favorites, I was also happy to see their sausage rolls on the menu. The selected teas for the day paired beautifully with the food selections. The savories, especially the goat cheese baskets, went beautifully with Gandalf's smoky tea whilst the sweets paired nicely with Frodo's berry tea. The atmosphere was delightful-each table was named after a different location in the Legendarium and there were trivia cards on each table, Hobbit name generators, and various themed adornments around the room. The servers were dressed in Hobbity attire, looked fully the part, and they were lovely to interact with. I enjoyed watching them debate winners in the costume contest at the end of the seating-they had some difficult choices between all the great costumes. As always we had a wonderful time and will certainly be back again!

Is there a better tea room in the world? No. The London Tea Room is the tops, the best, it's brilliant and delicious. It's how a tea room should be. Thanks London Tea Room for providing an oasis in a chaotic world!

I really wanted to like this place going in. It looked fun in reviews. As I found out saying that they're open until 4pm is extremely misleading, I was there at 3: 05pm and they wouldn't seat me saying they closed down kitchen at 3pm. The lady and young man working there were very nice and attentive. I did get a cup of tea to go and it was perfectly brewed and delicious.
I looked at the assorted teas on shelves, and while they have lovely selections the prices are exorbitantly high. A bag of tea that I can buy for $10-15 here they marked at $80.
The biggest disappointment was scones. I didn't want heated/hot thinking they would be at room temperature. They were rock hard frozen. Clearly not fresh, even when I did reheat them there was noticeable stale taste. Sad. It ruined the desire to come back to this place.

We have done events and regular dining here before. This review is based on experience at the recent Hobbit event.

It looked like there was only one waitress working the event. Our table was eating as some others (even a table that was there before us) were just getting their tea. I only received a refill of water once, as I didn't feel like getting up to look for someone, and when I did see her at another table, I didn't ask because I didn't want to put her behind while she helped others. One server can only do so much. If you're only going to have a very limited staff for events (or people call in sick and you're short staffed), maybe a buffet table set up with extras people might need, like water, silverware or napkins. Our table didn't have napkins and we didn't realize until we started eating, when we got our waters refilled I mentioned this and our waitress was very accommodating and got some for us quickly. The food and tea tasted great as always, but overall I don't feel like the experience was worth the price. We will still come back, but probably not for an event, just regular dining.

Edit to add: visited on 9/23 @ 2pm. Reservation confirmation 6908

A very cute tea room! The service was very good as was the selection of teas. I got the seasonal pumpkin harvest tea and it was a perfect fall drink.

I just wish the food options were a bit more flexible.

Amazing place! Has just about every tea imaginable. Jackie is awesome and ordered me one of their older teas too. Great service. I have been coming here since before they were on Morganford/Locust! Definitely my go-to tea place. Have been to many afternoon teas and themed tea parties as well. My boyfriend loves them too! Only wish they hadn't switched to Eventbrite for tickets to the events as that website charges horrible fees!

The LTR never disappoints and always exceeds expectations. From afternoon tea with friends or as a special me time treat, the atmosphere and presentation delight every single time. Don’t forget to check out the special events and browse the retail section. The scones are the best!

I was so excited to come here to celebrate a birthday. I had a reservation. We were sat in the corner next to a very large noisy party, even though there were plenty of open tables elsewhere. We didn’t see any waitstaff for nearly 15 min. We were able to order tea before watching our waitress walk out, never to return. Another long wait before someone finally came over and apologized…nearly an hour after my reservation time we were served our food, the only good thing about our visit. Everything on the afternoon tea was tasty. I left sad because I really wanted this to be a great experience but it was very expensive for having such awful service, to be sat in the corner and forgotten. I won’t be back.

I really can’t say enough about the London Tea Room. It’s a truly unique experience that makes for a great environment for meeting with friends or family. My wife and I tried the afternoon tea set menu and we each picked a tea. While I think all the teas sounded great, we had the Canadian Vicar and the Royal Wedding tea. If you like floral teas, then definitely try the royal wedding!

The afternoon tea menu was great! All the little sandwiches were fresh and flavorful. I never thought I would like a curry chicken salad on a mini croissant for brunch, but it hit the spot! The cucumber sandwich and the salmon cream cheese mini bagel were also on point. You’re gonna wanna pace yourself with the scone if you want to save room for the desert plate, and while the desserts were very tasty, I think next time we’ll stick to ordering High Tea next time.

I highly recommend getting reservations!

We were a few minutes late and it was near closing time but the staff worked with us and were really nice and welcoming. The desserts and teas were delicious. I ended up buying Parisian Breakfast which is now my favorite! My only comment is that it is a bit pricy and the noise from the waterfall quite distracting but overall, the place has a lovely vibe.
