The Pear Tree reviews
18We stopped here on the recommendation of my sister-in-law and it did not disapoint! I had the burger and slaw and my husband had the fish with slaw. Both were excellent. Our meals also came with salads which were so refreshing after all of the holiday food!
Absolutely phenomenal food. We are on our annual hunting trip and decided to go out for dinner and we decided this is now a tradition. The prices of steaks are high but probably worth it. I had the Shrimp Alfredo (delicious) daughter had the fish (light and fluffy, pleasantly surprised) brother had Cajun chicken sandwich. The slaw was great! We will definitely be back!
Phenomenal service, phenomenal food, and professional staff.
Gluten free options and great service!
Don't need fries when one gets shoestring potatoes under chicken & fish. Food was good. Some items very pricy.
Very nice restaurant. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Prices were not too high. We try to find a local restaurant when we travel and this is a must stop.
Every detail was perfect. Atmosphere, service, and cuisine! One of the best restaurants we've been to in Missouri
Andrea is awesome! Went in Saturday night and she did an outstanding job. Best dinner we had and the customer service provided by Andrea was top notch. Definitely would be back. Thank you Andrea for doing a great job
I was in there 2 weeks ago with family that lives in the area and got the Philly. It was not very good. The meat was overly processed, not fresh. - Nate Lewis
Wow what a gem! The staff was amazing. They were so busy but you did feel it. Just laughter and smiles from everyone. The food was beyond amazing. Try the onion rings and the wedding cake. The wine is really nice. Definitely worth a drive to try
Easily the best restaurant in mid-Missouri or maybe the entire state. This was our 2nd time dining at Pear Tree. We were visiting and made sure this was a stop on our schedule. Friendly, efficient staff and fantastic food!
Great service and great food and clean place all round great place fir family outing and eats
After having worked in their kitchen for nearly a year. I am truly amazed that a health inspector hasn't shut them down. Leaving onion rings out for hours unrefrigerated before popping them back into the fryer for a few minutes to "freshen them up" was a common practice. Washing dropped meat and other ingredients before serving them was a common practice. Additionally, it was commonplace to re-serve fried foods that "hadn't been touched". The Pear Tree is a health hazard, and quite frankly, neither I nor my family nor anybody should be eating here. Besides, it's all overpriced anyway for poor quality food. This place is clearly focused on profit margin and atmosphere over quality and customer care, let alone basic health and safety regulations. Don't even get me started on the fires.
Cannot recommend. Came in for lunch. Quite a wait to be seated. Great looking menu. Ordered a hamburger and the chef salad. Butter was brought out for bread-but no bread. One hour wait for food. No refill on water. Food was just ok. Quick checkout. Choose a restaurant in Hannibal
The food was excellent but we had to wait for almost a hour for our food, to make up for the wait we were given a complementary slice of cake and ice cream which was fitting considering it was my wife's birthday.
We're from Chillicothe, my daughter and her family live in Columbia, it was nice to meet them and have a great meal. Thank you!
Excellent experience from the moment we walked in the door. Though it was a bit difficult to find parking and that caused a slight concern about the wait, we were seated within ten minutes of walking in the restaurant.
We started with onion rings, which are easily the best I've ever had. The breading is crisp and the flavor is out of this world. And they onion itself isn't overly greasy like others.
My wife had the chicken piccata and raved about it. I had a bite and can confirm its excellence.
I had the 6oz sirloin with battered prawns. The sirloin was cooked perfectly and melted like butter with each bite. The shrimp and the accompanying cocktail sauce were delicious, as was the loaded baked potato.
Our salads (house and Caesar) were cold, crisp, and delicious. The croutons?
Service was impeccable. At no point did we wait for anything. Refills were frequent and well before our drinks were low. Empty plates were removed quickly. It was great to see how the staff works so well together to help each other out.
While it could be considered a bit pricy (depending on what you order), you more than get what you pay for. If you leave here hungry or feel the menu was lacking flavor, you did it wrong.
The Pear Tree is beyond worth the trip and we look forward to our next outing when we're able to make the drive!
A+ experience
Great Place for Lunch or Dinner. Small town friendliness and great food. Along with good prices. Can't beat that!
