The Resort at Lake of the Ozarks reviews
21The rooms were clean. The breakfast was below our expectations. Ceral and muffins were all that were offered and not available on Saturday.
The service was OK at best. The first room we had, had dead bed bugs on it. The breakfast was a joke. Nothing continental about it. They only had cereal. Never coming back again.
A lot of things were redone, but a lot was still needing remodeled while we were there. The floor was sopping wet after we both showered. The air was extremely humid inside the room even with the air on high & low. The gym was incomplete, so that was an inconvenience. The live bands were great, the swim up bar was really cool.
Staff was pretty rude and outright lied. We booked two rooms, pet fees included for both rooms. When we arrived they said one room in the main building could not have a dog in it, no dogs were allowed in the main building. While she was talking 2 huge dogs came out with their owner from a room. When questioned about the dog policy again we were told they will allow it this time. All night we could hear dogs barking in the building where "no dogs were allowed". The other room was in a different building, 2nd floor, the stairs were cracked and missing chunks of concrete. No elevator so we had to drag everything up the messed up stairs. Room smelled of smoke, bathroom was tiny. Oddly the bed was made backwards? The top sheet was on TOP of the blanket, which was on top of the fitted sheet? Very strange, and the bed was rock hard. Room took a few hours to cool off despite ac being on when we arrived. We called down to front desk to get more towels and were told we had to come get them from the other building. For what we paid, the service was crummy and rooms were less what you would expect with the cost. I would not stay here again.
I need an accessible motel because I use a wheelchair. The room had a roll in shower, but it wasn't wide enough. The toilet was too low for me. It had a bar, but it did not help because I was sitting too low. We bought a raised toilet seat and the motel paid us back. The elevator to the pool was not working yet. They were in the process of getting it fixed.
Great food and service! Made to geek welcomed and appreciated by the owner Merlin. Classy resort like establishment. Highly recommend.
Room had a HORRIBLE smell. Had to tape up the vent in the bathroom because the smell was coming from there. An exhaust fan in bathroom would have helped. Beds were fine. But no service.
The room was comfortable but it wasn’t the cleanest there were leftover soaps from the previous guest, dirty toilette and bathtub and we found a few things that were from the last guest. My biggest issue is they made no attempt to provide fresh towels or toilette paper. There’s also no maid service whatsoever but they should at least provide the basic things you need for your stay.
Basically got catfished! This seems like an adult only hotel. We stayed 2 nights.father day weekend. Staff was nice. Room was clean. My issue is the amenities. Thats how we choose were we stay. No outdoor pool for kids. The one they have seemed to be owned to the encore restaurant. Indoor pool is 3ft deep.what a joke. They also have no Breakfast. Well if u think cereal is breakfast them youll be all set. This is basically a motel. But over priced bc of the word resort. Total disappointment. Will not ever stay at this facility.
Night staff woman working the front desk was terribly rude when I asked for an extra blanket. Also, was told the rooms would be $218 plus tax and ended up being over $300. Definitely not a $300 a night type of place. Not impressed.
Rooms were super clean. Housekeeping supervisor (Stephanie) made sure we had what we needed. Lori the receptionist was the best. Answered any question we had. Bar food restaurant was the best. Hailee Soval was outstanding. We will be back back in September. Wonderful staff all around.
There are pool pictures listed on here that are not for this hotel. It made me think there were outdoor pools which there were not. There is only one pool and it is 3.5 feet deep. The beds are awful, very uncomfortable. Way overpriced for what you get.
Rooms were awful, beds uncomfortable, poor makeover attempt. Shower disgusting & shower had zero pressure. No exhaust fan. Lighting was bad as well. GM was on a power trip, we were there because they were a host hotel for a baseball tournament we were playing in, they made it clear that they don’t even like it when baseball families stay there. Why even sign up?
Needs to be a 1 star hotel at this point. Safety hand rails in the pool are loose and have over 1 foot of wobble. The overall maintenance and lack of good staff was rough. There was no fitness center due to construction but we were not told this. We have been guests of Port Arrowhead for years and don't expect an upscale experience but and however it has gotten worse. In good news our room heater worked well, the pool was clean, and the hotel owner or manager drives the fanciest orange sports car I have ever seen parked at a hotel. Hoping they are working on adding back the outdoor pool courtyard, some safety and maintenance, and wishing them better luck with staff!
Overpriced for what you get. There was construction going on outside the pool - the construction crew left sharp objects on the stairs and floors leading up to the pool - my kids almost stepped on what looked like a knife. Also- the construction crew was smoking inside the hotel while they were working. The toilet didn’t flush properly - and the beds were very uncomfortable (basically I could feel the springs poking through anytime I moved). The bath towels were basically small pool towels. And the ‘cereal breakfast’ in the morning had luke warm milk. Lastly - I prepaid for the room but when we checked in, they put a hold on my credit card for $100 without telling me. I will never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
Worst experience in the Ozarks ever! Everything in their website is missrepresented. No fitness center. No water pressure in the shower. TV channels.stayed there on Super Bowl weekend and front desk said you should go watch somewhere else because channels don't come in. I would never stay here again! #watchingsuperbowlonourphone
The lodge has a great view of the lake and also easy access to the lake. Make sure you pack enough amount of snacks and food.
Not worth $100 a night. Heater never worked right. Toilet overflowed on floor twice. Shower squirted everywhere including the tub spout. Hard bed. The 1 star is that they are pet friendly.
Love this place always stay when we visit the area. Sad to see Fat Pollys gone but hoping new restaurant and pool will be great! Indoor pool still open and nice. Would love see an upgrade in mattresses bit uncomfortable but otherwise rooms clean and front desk staff always accommodates.
Have been going to this resort for over 40 years. Still love going there. Just came back and while I was there customer service was awesome cleanliness of rooms was also wonderful. They are currently working on updating the resort. Hope it just keeps getting better. Once again if you would like a nice place to stay with wonderful customer service go here.
