The Rockhill Grille reviews
18Reservations for a party of six. No offer to be seated upstairs where the atmosphere is cozy and charming and instead seated in a booth across the bar. Food was disappointing my wife ordered a filet mignon for $40 and I had a loaded baked potato. The steak was undercooked as my wife ordered a medium rare and it was closer to rare. Tough, bland, under seasoned…underwhelmed. The baked potato was dry and lacked sufficient sour cream and butter, cheese. I can make a better potato at home. Disappointing.
Miracle pop up bar is TERRIBLE. Microwaved food, premixed boozy syrupy drinks, terrible service (seemed like all the servers were miserable, likely due to poor management). Do not recommend. It was so bad it was funny.
Exquisite. Each and every time I enjoy a meal here, they exceed my expectations. Recently had dinner in the newly renovated upstairs lounge. Had a stellar view of the city while enjoying the Calamari, Rockhill house salad and the double bone in porkchop. My guest agreed that it was the best porkchop they had ever I had. I already knew this having ordered this each time I dine. If you haven't eaten here, worth every penny
Dinner for 2: $$$
Cool place, great atmosphere, definitely haunted. Not sure what it is about these old buildings, or what history they have, but it's a safe bet this place has a few specters looming around.
Loved this atmosphere, just wish the location was better. Menu and drinks were 10/10, great vibe & will definitely be back.
Beautiful restaurants with a nice ambience, rented one of their private areas, well-maintained and the wait staff were phenomenal. Food is beyond expectations! Great job
Wonderful place for brunch. Everything is delicious except for the Brussels sprouts salad which is so hard you can’t eat it. The deviled eggs are the best I’ve ever had.
Ambience was fantastic. Server was very attentive food, but was just ok. Out of 5 dishes, only 2 were properly executed which were the salmon. It was perfectly cooked but we did not care for the sauce and side combination that came with it. 2 guests had the scallops. They were rubbery and not edible and the toasts they were served on were completely burnt and one had the chicken and it was not cooked properly either. She did not even eat it. Tried the carrot cake for a dessert. Cake was a little dry and frosting lacked flavor. Was a little disappointed.would expect better quality.
The food was delicious and the staff were helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner or and evening out with friends and family. Everything we ordered was tasty and fresh.
Went for brunch after a Saturday night wedding. Food and service was excellent, especially for being downtown we got seated immediately. Outdoor seating is beautiful. Food portions are substantial and reasonable prices.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday. When we arrived, we were told we could not have balloons due to "policy" so they had to go back to the car. Then, when another friend arrived we were told we were not allowed to pull up a chair even though the table was big enough and there were empty chairs around due to another "policy". We decided to leave rather than spend our money somewhere with so many ridiculous "policies".
STEPHANIE THE HOSTESS WAS LESS THAN CORDIAL WHEN QUESTIONED WHY I WAS UNABLE TO SIT AT THE BAR THOUGH THERE WERE CLEARLY SITS AVALIABLE. AFTER SPEAKING TO HANNAH THE MANAGER I WAS PERMITTED TO SIT AT THE BAR. ONCE SITTING AT THE BAR AND ORDERING FOOD (THE ROCKHILL SALAD AND FRIES) THEY SERVED THE FRIES YET NEGLECTED TO BRING THE SALAD. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER (HANNAH) AND INFORMED HER OF THE MISHAP. IM LIMITED ON THIS POST. HORRIBLE
Met one of the owners at Jack Stack about 3 months ago. My son in law and I were eating. He told me about his restaurant. Today, my wife and I stopped in. WOW! Great service, atmosphere and the food? Out of this world. I had the Rockhill Ribeye. Fantastic. She had the trout. Superb. I highly recommend this great restaurant.
I have only been to Rockhill for lunch and I have gotten the Brussles Sprouts Salad both times. It is delicious! I have had impeccable service both times I've gone. I was disappointed the last time - their parking lot was taken over by a healthcare company and so parking is really a bear. We had a lunch meeting and both of us were 15 minutes late in the end. Valet parking is only $3 but I just don't agree with paying for parking if I can find alternatives.
Updating my review from a very disappointing recent visit. Although the manager absolutely rectified by removing from my bill, I was still served a sandwich with next to no chicken. My entire table was famished and I didn't want to wait on a new order. A huge chunk of cheese was in the place of chicken which made it feel purposeful.
Wait staff could have been a bit more attentive. My Pittsburgh finish steak was great. The honey butter finish was a nice touch.
Excellent service- prompt and accurate.
Excellent food- flavor and presentation.
(A little pricey for black coffee, but it was good)
Nice and beautiful location. We were able to get a patio table without a reservation and no wait time. They have a good variety of appetizers, salads, seafood, poultry, beef dishes plus desserts and of course, drinks.
This time I opted for a light meal and I had the seafood salad as my main. It was a great choice. The seafood tasted so fresh and light, but at the same time delicious. It had shrimps, octopus and squid, plus the greens and red peppers. It also had some potatoes.
Husband and I shared calamari for appetizer and the tater tots, they were amazing as other reviews said. They have cheese inside and a crispy warm texture outside. We took the leftovers and even the next day were delicious.
Husband had a roasted chicken that was very tasty. He loved it. We will definitely come back.
Was visiting a friend in Kansas City and she suggested this restaurant. I am so glad she did! We went here for brunch and then for dinner the following evening. The food was delicious! For brunch we had mimosas, bloody Mary's, a cinnamon roll, Brussel Sprouts salad, bruschetta, Nashville hot chicken sandwich and shoes tots. All I can say is wow! Everything was absolutely dynamite! For dinner we had a couple bottles of cab, crab cakes, calamari, prime rib, filet mignon, and a rib eye. Again, they did not disappoint! If you're in the area, I highly recommend eating here. Both brunch and dinner were phenomenal!
