The Roost Bar & Grill (Sunshine) reviews
21Nice place that could easily be a great hangout! Only 1 pool table. We had parmesan and garlic wings and they were cooked perfectly. Well worth a visit.
Very comfortable sports bar. Great bloody mary, cold beer with a good selection on tap. Great pizza for hubby, and i had a buffalo style mac and cheeze. Really really good.
Solid choice for good pub food and drinks. I had fish tacos which were generously portioned and I couldn't finish them. Margarita was yummy and they had many beers to choose from. Friendly waiter. Great casual place.
Always good service and delicious food. This is a favorite of ours to visit when in Springfield. Occasionally it can be too loud for conversation, but overall a great place to grab a bite either inside or on the patio.
BEST ONION RINGS EVER! This place uses a batter for their onion rings, not a breading - Big Difference! In terms of their menu otherwise, nothing has jumped out to me. Maybe someone could send me a recommendation but so far the wait staff has not. The service is hit or miss, we coincidentally showed up on a night live music was set to play.
I really want to find something awesome on the menu here to accompany the onion rings but I'll give it a few more visits.
Average ambience and service, Amazing onion rings!
Their fried pickles are pretty much THE BEST I’ve ever had! The beer is always cold and the service is usually top notch. The food is sometimes hit or miss; last night I had the the Italian chicken wrap and it was stellar, but I’ve also been and had mediocre wraps and burgers. Overall, I usually enjoy stopping in for a drink and quick bite to eat!
Nick (the bartender/manager on duty) was AMAZING!
Kind…great…and friendly despite some douche canoe customers he had to deal with! We will dine/drink here again often!
We ordered tacos, beef on tacos came out cold as ice, the server took them and brought them back, the tacos had not changed. I had taken a bite out of one of my tacos (how I found out it was ice cold) and the SAME tacos was there, just lukewarm. They just microwaved the tacos. The manager, Nick, was going to force us to pay for tacos that weren't even fresh. The server was lovely and took the check from us and insisted that she pay for the horrible food. She should NOT have to do that.
Absolutely horrible place to eat at, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This place doesn't even the deserve the wonderful servers they have. Honestly believe the servers can find a better place to work at.
The manager Nick just handled a rude customer very well. The customer got mad about a few cold tacos when they had ordered 20 and ate 13 of them. The others got cold and they tried to warm them back up and they were rude about it. They handled it so well. Nick makes great drinks and got my order in promptly and came out so quickly. Super nice guy and great low key environment. Loved it!
Always a great meal. The fried pickels are amazing. You won't find better ones in this town. If you are looking for a healthy option the salads are great. I love the cob salad is my favorite. The atmosphere is family friendly and every location has shuffle board.
The staff was very sarcastic when I made a complaint, after I voiced I didn't appreciate the comment the manager began getting very hostile. I saw multiple families while I was there but would not recommend bringing children to a restaurant where they are so publicly inflammatory to customers. Food was also served cold. An all around terrible experience.
Unfortunately I had a very poor experience at the roost today. The food took over an hour to get and there were many complications. They offered complementary chips and salsa however it was stale and didn’t taste that well.
A member of the party received the wrong menu item and rather than fixing the issue we were told that he would just be charged for the cheaper menu items.
I have been to the other roost in town a few times but this location is not quite the same and that’s a bit disappointing
Loved the experience here! Fantastic hand battered onion rings, and the Philly was delicious as well. My wife had the grilled chicken, bacon, and ranch sandwich and loved it too! Tasty strong drinks and super friendly, efficient wait staff! Absolutely will be frequenting The Roost and look forward to trying $0.50 cent Taco Tuesday from 6-8!
Showed up on Monday evening 6/13 at around 8pm, waiter brought us our drinks then we didn't see him again until 9 we put in our order half of my group was brought food with their order messed up, the rest of our party didn't get served at all. He later came back and asked if we needed anything, we requested more refills and the rest of our food. He never came back to our table after that.
We just come back from eating at the roost.had 3 club sandwiches and the bread on all 3 was burned black.we didnt say anything, but really, between cook and waiter, nobody noticed or smelled it? The onion rings were soggy.asked the waiter what kind of wine they had, and he didnt know if they even had wine.really.
Worst service we have ever had. Way over priced on their food for what you get…. We got the pick three appetizer which had four dime size mushrooms, four quarter size raviolis and four small onion rings. Ordered two waters and a sweet tea three times and only received one water halfway through our meal. Ordered two alcoholic drinks that were made very poorly
We love the Roost. It’s a great neighborhood feel sports bar dining establishment. Always a lot of food. I really like the burgers but often end up getting the chicken strip meal because it is so delish. And the ranch dressing is yum-o and I usually don’t get ranch. Service is usually pretty good and always friendly. We go to both locations and never had bad service or food.
First time visiting The Roost. Everything was excellent. Waiter, food, drinks and atmosphere were all spot on. The onion rings are amazing. Highly recommend
Just stopped for drinks and left but I have eaten here before and it's pretty tasty! It's worth trying if you've never been!
Good food for the most part and good prices, it's a pretty average sports bar. Service can be good, seems to really depend on if you get and experienced waiter or not.
