The Running Well Store - Barry Road, Kansas City MO

I entered store and was not greeted or helped. 4 other people came in and were helped. Zero stars from me today.

I love this store! The people are so kind and helpful. They help me pick out my shoes. This is the only store and location I go to for my running shoes.

Don't buy expensive tennis shoes here if you need to return and want a refund. There's a sign by the cash register that says that but when I checked out, hey were covered with boxes. Lucas said I could return within 30 days but said nothing about not being able to get money back. The older lady said, "yes, we all do that". Nope! Poor customer service! Lucas actually told me he hadn't worked there very long. Then the old lady insisted it was more than 30 days when I bought them. I bought Ghost 15 on 10.14.23 and returned 10.25.23. Don't think that's more than 30 days!

I went into this store to purchase a new pair of running shoes. After I picked out the shoes I asked one of the employees if they gave a “military discount”. The employee said they gave discounts to “active military” only but he could check with the manager to see if she could extend it to me since I was a veteran. The manager said she could not give me the discount since I wasn’t on active duty. I told her that was interesting because at the beginning of the year I bought shoes at that store and got a discount. Then a few months after that I bought merchandise at their Lee’s Summit location and the employee there gave me a discount and thanked me for my service. When I told the manager that other running shoe stores gave discounts to all veterans she just looked at me. I left the store and went to Fleet Feet where I actually bought two pairs of running shoes and got the military discount for both pairs. The truth of the matter isn’t actually about getting a discount. What matters is the business having respect for all veterans, so offering the discount is an act to show support for our military. I won’t ever go back to this business ever again. They actually missed out on a big sale because I spent a lot of money on the running shoes I bought from their competitor.

Wonderful service. They’re friendly and know what they’re doing. It’s very old school in that they add value. They figured out my best shoe five or six years ago and now I just update it from time to time. High recommendation.

This place has top notch customer service. If you want employees that will go above and beyond to help you with your shoe needs then go here. They will try to tailor what you want as exact to the shoe brand and size as they can.

I needed to return a pair of shoes and I had lost the receipt. Since the shoes had, upon inspection, not been used the managers were willing to accept them. The staff at the store both times I went there they were extremely polite and I used the return to purchase another pair and I am very happy with them.
The store carries a wide variety of excellent shoes and I was able to purchase an Extra Wide shoe which was perfect

Max was amazing! He was well-informed and educated me on shoes that would be the best for my situation. I highly recommend The Running Well Store and Max if you need to learn about the best shoes for you!

Let me the first to say, THANK YOUUUU! To the awesome team over at the The Running Well Store for being the nicest most trustworthy team i have ever met! I had lost my wallet when going through training over in Missouri and hadnt found it since i had come back to Texas. After about 2 months i received a package from TRWS and wouldnt you guess it was my wallet, with the $40 i had left in it as well, the package also came with a note from the team hoping i received my wallet and if i had any questions to speak with Tara, Tara is the sweetest person ive had the pleasure of talking to over the phone and i want to apologize on the late thank you review that has been a little overdue. To anyone going through Kansas City Missouri please stop by The Running Well Store for all your snacks, drinks and gas needs, there team will surely set you right!

Carmen did such a good job making recommendations and was so patient making sure I got the right size and brand that fit me well! Will definitely be going back!

Max provided excellent customer service to me and my daughter. He was able to find each of the most comfortable shoes with great support.

Love this store. Been shopping here for many years. Staff is ways friendly and very helpful. They have always placed me the right shoe.

The one-on-one service was fantastic. They wanted to make sure that I that I had the right shoes for my needs. Getting ready to run my first marathon, I wanted to take some time to get this right, and I wasn't rushed at all. They encouraged me to jump on the treadmill to test them out and try on as many pairs as I needed. It was a great experience and I'll be returning for all of my future running shoe/gear/accessory purchases.

I am out of state and placed an order online. I had picked the wrong state for my shipping address. Within 30 minutes someone from the store was calling about my address. They got it all sorted out and had my order shipped the same day. I was met with excellent customer service throughout the whole process. I would absolutely recommend shopping from them, and plan to purchase more in the future.
