The Ship reviews
6We have openers a new biz 3 mins from the Ship. The food hit the spot! I had the soup of the day and it was delicious! My fiancé has a chicken sandwich that was also very tasty!
We arrived during KC Restaurant Week, so all tables were reserved. The staff seated us at the bar, and that didn't matter. It was the same KCRW menu. Their hospitality was spot on. The Reuben, Cubano, and Ship-fil-et sandwiches were delicious and more than satisfying. We definitely had leftovers to bring home. They have a variety of non-alcoholic mocktails, much to my delight. We'll be seeing more of The Ship soon.
First visit was during Restaurant Week and we will return. Portions very generous and tasty! Really enjoyed the reuben!
Five stars because I couldn't find anything annoying about this place. The food and drinks were really good and the server seemed to show up just when I needed something. I love the atmosphere; a resurrected skeleton from the industrial revolution. The floors seem to be original old timey wood planks so don't wear your heels here. I recommend you try the ship filet or the rueben and their version of a blue hawaiian is delightful. The band My Oh My was playing on the stage and there's an ample dance floor. Plenty of parking all around the building. I didn't see a handicapped accessible entrance and there are several stairs to enter this place.
I was there as a performer, Sunday June 25th, 2023. It was a very warm and inviting atmosphere. They do not serve food on Sunday but I did have a chance to get a Jameson shot. I had a blast! Here's a brief video of me singing at The Ship.
Countertops, picture frames, door jambs, bar trim and general decor were all festooned with bolts ala a seafaring vessel and so, fun. Food was superb; Hummus, Caesar salad and smoky mac and cheese accompanied a scrumptious portobello mushroom "burger". Recommended.
